Fun fact the Disney remake was in the Caribbean seas there’s a lot of black lore on mermaids and her hair colour is actually very interesting because the amount of black ppl with this natural colour in the Caribbean is very common. I love that it wasn’t a fake red but a beautiful ginger haha this is my natural hair colour n it changes in the light so it can change in the movie. There’s so much about this movie that goes hand in Hand with our lore and culture I love it so much. Her tail even emulates our deities

This is the movie that literally restarted Disney as an animation powerhouse. They need to get this one right.
I will say this, her hair has to be something workable for her. As a black performer playing a predominantly white role, they have to find ways to make her look good while still staying true to the character. She’s not a white woman so don’t expect that vibrant Hugh of a white womans hair. With that being said, enjoyed this a lot.

I didn’t love when Emma Watson played Belle cause she isn’t a Disney Princess singer, but the movie was great. I didn’t even state I hated it I just said I wasn’t sure how I felt ONCE AGAIN about the Placement. Her rift was BEAUTIFUL & her voice is stunning I never ever said anything that would bring the actress down. Again it’s placement not that it was done. I might even like it after I hear the entire song, and see her own unique take to the role and the music. This such a small clip that I’m still HIGHLY open to the entire movie and all of her songs. I am very open& super excited with the choices they made so far for this movie. She looks stunning and her voice is off the charts perfect for a new Ariel. You just wrote me off and assume my taste are stuck in so called black and white tv when that’s Not the case at all.

I didn’t love when Emma Watson played Belle cause she isn’t a Disney Princess singer, but the movie was great. I wasn’t thrilled with this casting of Ariel cause I prefer the live actors to look like the cartoon. But truly, this actress is the epitome of adorable beauty, just like Ariel; her voice is absolutely lovely, she’s bringing the magic to life and really that’s the most important thing. I’m so excited to see this, I’m getting choked up just over the trailer!

I used to hate that they made Ariel black when I first heard about , I am big fan of her. But I realized what I loved about Ariel as a kid was not her looks. Watching the trailer my inner child recognized that her being black is so irrelevant, her beautiful voice and desire for love and adventure is what I love about her. I’m excited

When he started with her hair looks too natural I was like "oooh he's about to be cancelled". But he is right, it could have been a little more red. But interestingly this hair colour is what black hair looks like when it's exposed to sea water a lot.
The problem is that the hair is Auburn red or reddish brown.. they should made it royal red Like in the cartoon like the identity of the character
I must say, tho I know that it's all about cooling filter and what not her hair looks a little muted red, I do hope it's more intense red. Ariel is not only known for her amazing voice, her hair is also very well known and something I have always hold dear to my heart. I was a little underwhelmed by her tail when I first watched the teaser, but the more I see it, I like it better. I can't wait to see a longer trailer (and the movie of course). I wonder if we get a full trailer around Christmas?
