I did this trip in a 50/50 kind of way, one half for myself and the other half for you guys, filming and taking pictures is what I love to do then being able to share it with other people is even greater but with that said there’s of course times when I’m tired, I don’t know what to say or what I’m talking about but I still gotta film something for the sake of the story, but I never regret filming too much because it’s always better to have too much forage than too little! Hope you are doing well friend!! Writing to you now from a camping near Sånfjället! Went here to hopefully see some bears but it seems to be easier said than done! Take care friend!
TedWeirum Sånfjallet seems to be not far away from Hede which is one of the goals for this year’s summer holidays! (a campsite there is run by ex-colleagues of my girlfriend)

Hey Andrew, that’s heartwarming to hear! Working on it! ;) when it comes to the Kajka, the biggest reason i didn’t take it is because I sold it. As much as I love that backpack I needed to evolve and reduce what I carry with me, that ended up in basically not using the bag. As of now I use the kaipak 38 but it’s a bit to small.. 🤪, still searching for the ultimate bag I guess! Thanks for all your kind words and for watching!

Nice video again! Ted! Just one question or suggestion , could you make a small video that how you protect yourself while you are in the woods , it seems (those bones ) you are surrounded by many wild animals.
Good question! There’s really not that much I “do” to protect myself, it’s more about what you don’t do. You saw me whistling, and then i also keep a good eye on my surroundings, I’m very aware of what I’m doing. It’s also about showing respect to the wildlife, basic common sense! I don’t have a chance against a bear so I avoid running into one as much as I can. Last but not least if you take a look at the video you’ll see that I have a knife on the right shoulder pad, it’s more of a mental thing than actual protection! Great question!!

Nice vid, and love the Channel. I Dunno what you do Before a hike, but i and i alot og soldier use tape Before tur hike thin linner and thicker outlayer, this Will kill tur friktion from your foot. Sorry for bad English. Take care Thomas
Thanks Thomas! I usually use tape and change socks regularly, I also stop just to take of the boots every once in a while, during this hike I admit that I was a bit sloppy with those things, and the results didn’t wait! :) thanks for watching!

Hahahah, yeah I guess I was just so tired I don’t know what I was saying! They are from blå band, its freeze dried food that you basically just add hot water to when your out and about and after 10 minutes you have a warm meal ready to eat! Like the us MRE! Hey Ted, we are planning to do such a hike this year. Not sure yet where as getting there is an issue but did you have to fight a lot against ticks and mosquitos? Great video. Lots of work went into it.

Great adventure, Ted! Your raft-pack (lol) is The alpaca, right? Im Norway based and struggling to find outfitters. Do yo have any tips on how to get hands on a pack raft like that in Scandinavia? Keep up the good work :)

For real it took away some of the joy because of the heavy weight, but I can’t feel any of that now! All that is left is wonderful memories and this video! ;)

Thanks man! I’ll have a look! I was there in June of this year! :) glad you liked the video, it’s a truly remarkable place!! I’m thinking about getting some lighter gear and going back up again!
You definitely should check out the rest of the trail (or Kungsleden if you want to try different trails). Padjelanta is so diverse, it's my favorite trail by far. You go through forests, go up in altitudes a couple of times and hike next to the beautiful lake Vastenjaure. Or maybe go for Sarek if you're an experienced hiker. I'm planning to go back too. Your video got me motivated, so thanks again!

Ha! Good thing you wrote back, I didn’t have the backpack that I first wrote, the one I had was abisko 55 I think.. now, to the one you are asking about, it is the foldsack no 3! Well spotted!!
I know some purists would despise this notion ... but I thinking scouting with a drone is awfully cool. Maybe someday we will have silent drones that soar like a bird, and more people will find their presence in the wild a little more acceptable.

what is the weight of your backpack ?
I don't remember exactly, usually its around 23kgs but with the boat im sure I was closer to 30-35kgs
