A-Side was a walk in the park, compared against the B-Side for this chapter. So much majesty and awe, along with the skill that you must bring to your second encounter with your inner demons. Badeline, in this case. Definitely a gem, this track.
Hell, even all the previous B-sides are basically a walk in the park compared to this one. Every previous B-side took me fewer than 200 deaths and less than 40 minutes to get through. This one took me 500 deaths and 80 minutes. I haven't yet tried the other B-sides.

Kind of late, but fun fact, the speedrun for this game now REQUIRES you to do the B side for this level for any percent because it's faster than doing all of A side. This is including getting the cassette to unlock this level in the first place.
This music feels like its about to derail off into intense rage at any moment, but just like you at your worse, it still stays under control no matter how tense it gets, no matter how much you feel like you're gonna snap under the pressure you still stay strong even if you feel weak and about to explode. From 1:55 to 2:25 is where that feeling is the best conveyed in my opinion. Its a really funny coincidence that I've come across this song at a point where I want to lash out at everyone around me, and I'm annoyed that I'm staying so strong and composed, just like how I'm feeling annoyed at the fact the music won't go all out and stays calm despite the tension and small buildups. Amazing game with a legendary soundtrack, what more can I say.
It is going all out, albeit in a calmer fashion. Sometimes, you don't necessarily need hard-hitting instruments to get the job done. Just a certain degree of calmness amid the chaos. Staying calm and composed amidst the minor (or major) equivalent of Armageddon is something few people are capable of doing, so if you can, keep it up and move forward towards victory.
I'm almost certain I know exactly where you are talking about. That and 7-C were serious moments of evolution in skill for me to compensate for the extreme difficulty
Hang on, I had a bad time with it, but once you figured out the good pattern and the right timing you will succed ! Don't forget to jump while you're still hanged to the thwomp to have the momentum
As soon as I began playing this level... it reminded me of my soulmate, who passed away several years ago. And I cried while going through all these spikes, with the sun rays going through the mountains behind. One of the most beautiful moment I've ever lived, and one of the most beautiful sountrack in video game history 💛
That first key room in the Badeline section is gonna piss me off so much. I already lost my shit after spending about 45 minutes to get past that room, about the same time I took to get to that room.
tbh it wasn't THAT hard. Only the part where you had to collect 5 locks with a feather while fighting badeline was. 6B is easier than 5B but the hardest one is probably 3B

I had fewer deaths on 5b than 5a (and I had already beaten the a sides before playing this file). 6b is the b side of of the level that introduced *feathers* :P Oh yeah, and the only boss fight in the game (I think anyway, I got through 7b, didn't feel like dealing with Core's bullshit on b, then have been inching my way through Farewell).
I wouldn't say this is my favorite track in the entire game, but this is definitely my favorite B-side track. I especially love the part with the electric guitar.(just to be clear, I meant the part at 0:58)
That same guitar plays the motif of most of the songs in chapter 9 (it plays the same notes, almost exactly), and I have absolutely no idea why that's there. It does it at 0:00.
This song has been used to keep me relaxed long after i cleared the B and C sides, i absolutely adore it. Let me follow that up by saying the Celeste soundtrack as a whole is probably one of the best, if not the best, OST I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, while playing one of the best, if not the best, 2D platformer ive ever played, with OSTs, Story, and Artwork that inspired me beyond imagination. The only regret i have is that i'll never be able to experience any of it for the first time ever again.
This will always remain as my favorite track in the list, sitting ONLY JUST above Resurrections and Quiet and Falling. Jukio Kallio wrote the music for Nuclear Throne, one of my favorite games of all time, as well, and he hasn't disappointed with this one either. Wonderful song, but the room just before the "Reflection" section...holy shit. Though, it's amazing how I went from "where do I even begin with this room" to flying in the air and jumping between moving blocks. This game just keeps teaching you, and it feels nice when you compete them
This theme is so gloriously epic, it starts calm yet powerful, it reaches an immense volume of majesty and quiet anger, it's reflective of Madeline's strong clash with her inner self, her rage, fear, stubborness and all of her insecurities being personified by Part Of You (Badeline). Overall this theme is absolutely *divine & breathtaking.*

Trying to piece together the path for the last couple screens without a guide was brutal. So much muscle memory got developed. I can do that section with my eyes closed now.

This is the first B-Side I convinced myself to get through fully with Assist Mode. I've done every B-Side before it without major Assist Mode abuse, but this is where I had to throw in the towel. And seeing the absurd amount of rooms filled with spikes and Kevin Blocks and Golden Feathers, while I flew through it all with infinite dashes and invincibility, it all made me even less motivated to keep doing B-Sides without help. I don't think I'm ever doing this B-Side by hand. You heard it here, folks - I, the persistent gamer lass, have given up for the first time in gaming history. I've been to many levels in which I've wasted thousands of lives, but this is where I give in.
You can try again. Improvement in this game is VERY noticeable. Start by, say, not using invincibility and infinite dashes. Then, try to only use Assist Mode to practice rooms and do your final clear of a room without use of Assist Mode. It's much more complicated than this, but I think you can do it in some form.
This B-Side was my favorite, at that point I was getting good at the B-Sides and holy crap the atmosphere of this level between the music and the actual gameplay, man the gameplay on this level felt so fluid and the way the levels were setup perfectly just a masterpiece, the whole game...
A-Side: gonna hug the shit out of you, weird mirror ghost friend B-Side: you fool, a restraining order has no power in the mountains, here comes the huggin'
Damn this brings back memories... Not of this level specifically tho, or well, kinda. I played this B-side when I was just in the final stages of completing this one animation I'd been making *_for 4 weeks straight (28 days) 14h a day every day._* It was so unbelievably refreshing and rewarding playing this when I had to wait 10+ minutes for the damn thing to save. It felt like I was finally finishing it, finally getting to the end of that endless purgatory of animating. (The animation came out really well though and it's brought a lot of happiness to the fandom it's for. So although making it killed me, it was still worth it.)

My favourite part about this is how the buildup leads into a calm section of the music, which is a contrast to the epic music in the A side. It now sounds more serious and keeps this constant feeling where the chapter feels like its neverending

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this B-side. For how it started and how I was dreading the Kevin blocks insanity to frustrate me, I actually had a lot of fun maneuvering around the spikes. Especially the Badeline fight, that was so good.
B-sides were great (yet kinda frustating). However, the main flaw was their lack of emotional build up. I know that B side are more about a challenge than a story, but it would have been amazing to have a build up of this song up until the boss fight. Still, this remix is impressive. It succeded to use the original theme initialy though for a single sequence to convey all the different feelings Madeline comes accross during the original level. I especially loved that guitare at 1:28 and near the end
I'd say the reason for that is that the people that remixed these songs didn't actually know that much about the gameplay and story. I think they only had the original music to go off of. I mean yeah, that's a fair bit in some circumstances, but they didn't have all the information. The remixes are still amazing though.
Zachary Jones eh, 4C is also easier than 4B. 1C might also be easier than 1B-even on my first play through 1C only took 15 minutes. B-sides as a whole tend to be *way* harder to get golden strawberries for, just because they require you *consistently* not fuck up for far more screens than the C-side challenges.

This is the first B-Side I convinced myself to get through fully with Assist Mode. I've done every B-Side before it without major Assist Mode abuse, but this is where I had to throw in the towel. And seeing the absurd amount of rooms filled with spikes and Kevin Blocks and Golden Feathers, while I flew through it all with infinite dashes and invincibility, it all made me even less motivated to keep doing B-Sides without help. I don't think I'm ever doing this B-Side by hand.
You heard it here, folks - I, the persistent gamer lass, have given up for the first time in gaming history. I've been to many levels in which I've wasted thousands of lives, but this is where I give in.
You can try again. Improvement in this game is VERY noticeable. Start by, say, not using invincibility and infinite dashes. Then, try to only use Assist Mode to practice rooms and do your final clear of a room without use of Assist Mode. It's much more complicated than this, but I think you can do it in some form.

I got goose bumps when I heard the first note. This song, and the sound track as a whole is amazing.

This B-Side was my favorite, at that point I was getting good at the B-Sides and holy crap the atmosphere of this level between the music and the actual gameplay, man the gameplay on this level felt so fluid and the way the levels were setup perfectly just a masterpiece, the whole game...

Damn this brings back memories... Not of this level specifically tho, or well, kinda. I played this B-side when I was just in the final stages of completing this one animation I'd been making *_for 4 weeks straight (28 days) 14h a day every day._*
It was so unbelievably refreshing and rewarding playing this when I had to wait 10+ minutes for the damn thing to save. It felt like I was finally finishing it, finally getting to the end of that endless purgatory of animating.
(The animation came out really well though and it's brought a lot of happiness to the fandom it's for. So although making it killed me, it was still worth it.)

Mine is a woman with the power to steal other people's powers. She's also super narcissistic, so I imagine the choir chanting her name.
My favourite part about this is how the buildup leads into a calm section of the music, which is a contrast to the epic music in the A side. It now sounds more serious and keeps this constant feeling where the chapter feels like its neverending

This was probably the 2nd hardest level for me to beat, after Chapter 7 C-Side.
I would say Farewell is the hardest, but I haven't beaten it yet.

THIS ROOM WITH BADELINE, THE FEATHERS, THE SPIKES AND THE BUTTONS TO OPEN THE WAY ALMOST MADE ME GAVE UP
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this B-side. For how it started and how I was dreading the Kevin blocks insanity to frustrate me, I actually had a lot of fun maneuvering around the spikes. Especially the Badeline fight, that was so good.
This level force you to use all the skill you have learned in the preavious side b level, majestic +.+

I can't explain how much I love this game
B-sides were great (yet kinda frustating). However, the main flaw was their lack of emotional build up. I know that B side are more about a challenge than a story, but it would have been amazing to have a build up of this song up until the boss fight.
Still, this remix is impressive. It succeded to use the original theme initialy though for a single sequence to convey all the different feelings Madeline comes accross during the original level.
I especially loved that guitare at 1:28 and near the end
Legend has it that there is a side of the mountain harder than the B-Side. A C-Side if you will. I have no idea how to attain them though.
You have to get the golden strawberry at the end of the level which is achieved by not using dash at all in the normal levels.
The Reflection C-side is actually easier than the B-side, though. The others, not so much.
I'd say the reason for that is that the people that remixed these songs didn't actually know that much about the gameplay and story. I think they only had the original music to go off of. I mean yeah, that's a fair bit in some circumstances, but they didn't have all the information. The remixes are still amazing though.
Zachary Jones eh, 4C is also easier than 4B. 1C might also be easier than 1B-even on my first play through 1C only took 15 minutes.
B-sides as a whole tend to be *way* harder to get golden strawberries for, just because they require you *consistently* not fuck up for far more screens than the C-side challenges.
The c-side was like a walk in the park after that insanely difficult b-side

AND I NEVER GAVE UP. every time i tried a b side, i finished it on my first run.
