when i first saw them i was watching their tangled up tour , and i said to everyone that they all look like super models that are popstars.. cheryl too even tho she is short.. i was hooked from the start, they all sing and dance. unlike the pussycat dolls where one sings and they all dance..
Louis Walsh didn't choose the first single , the record company did , he didn't manage them either , Kimberley did until they brought in Shaw Management
Word! If she had managed TLC unlike Perri Reid aka Pebbles they wouldn't have had so many problems. Hilary managed Banarama as well so she knew her stuff. She really took care of them which is saying alot considering so many Managers "Screwed" over their Stars. If you can, check out the Vanity Fair Article about Lou Pearlman who launched the Careers of The Backstreet Boys & N'Sync. He was a vulture.

@@torreugenia80 Aww thanks so much. Greatly appreciated. I'm a self described Musicologist and I read both Cheryl & Kimberly's Books and my jaw dropped.
@@laminage Very nice Gentleman, I could not read anything, because until this year I did not know that Girls Aloud had existed and that from that group, Kimba and Chezza left. I tell you, I've been in music for the whole of my life, I've been living together for 1 year at RoseMary's house. Eccles, she was the 1st wife of Graham Nash (Nash, Stills, Crosby and Young.) I have fallen in love with Girls Aloud so much that infatuation gave way to Infinite love for Chezza and Kimba. comment on her personal things and not on music anyway ... my problem, a friendly greeting Gentleman
Did you see how Nikk Mager from Phixx & Daniel Pearce from One True Voice auditioned on The X Factor and had Cheryl as a Judge. I would have been a mess if I were her. I made it and these guys were trying so hard to make it. Sean Conlon (Five) also went on The Voice and nobody turned their chair for him.
Here's an eerie fact. Sarah Harding auditioned on August 16th 2002 which was the same day that Elvis Presley died in 1977 as did Aretha Franklin (RIP), who also used The Sweet Inspirations as their backing Group. It was the day that Madonna was born in 1958, and Pete Best got fired from The Beatles in 1962. The Jackson Five made their Concert debut as the opening Act for Diana Ross & The Supremes in 1969.
To it's because so much things happened to so many acts who became Superstars and Legends three of which are no longer with us. Either way Girls Aloud are fantastic!
If there was a "Pop Equivalent" of a Cinderella Story it would be them. Did you know that Sarah Harding was voted into The Group Two Days "Before" her Birthday. I was perplexed at why she did the "Ugly Cry" but you'd be pretty overwhelmed if you went through as much as you did to get into the Group.
This show is 180% from The US Shows like VH1's Behind The Music where the storyline is the same. Grew up in Poverty, paid dues, became famous, an addict, alcoholic, broke and had to rework to get back to the Top. There's a US Network called Centric which is an African American Cable where they have a Segment called "Unsung" where they do profiles on R & B Singers and their lives were so tragic. From Florence Ballard Of The Supremes, Debarge, Disco Singer Evelyn "Champagne" King amongst others. They must have had some amazing folks to help them stay humble because in a Business like that, keeping your sanity is very hard.
Looking back, I don't think Pete Waterman could have predicted how big they were. It's ironic. In 2001 Steps break up in December and then a Year Later, Girls Aloud have The Number One Song In The Country. They are also in the US Edition of The Guinness Book Of World Records as the Group with the most consecutive Top Tens.
Good for all of them. I'm sure after seeing what happened to The Spice Girls as well as the US Girl Groups like TLC, Xscape and The "Original" Destiny's Child they didn't want to go downhill like many of them did. They all take turns which I think is very important.
I don't think that there will be a Girl Group from The UK that will match Girls Aloud's Success. It's like Being A Girl Group and be able to have Twelve Number Ones like The Supremes.
@@josephprendergast2 Yes. The Girl Group/Boy Band in The UK is so lucky because there's always a Supply/Demand for them. In the US it dried up in 2002 and even 5th Harmony aren't together anymore. If it weren't for RUclips I wouldn't know who they were from Adam.
Cough little mix they’ve broke the records the spice girl set I loved girls aloud I mean I was obsessed but little mix are on another level of talented
Pete Waterman did the same thing that Maurice Starr (whose real Name is Larry Johnson) as well as Lou Pearlman who believed that because they hit Paydirt with New Kids On The Block, New Edition, N'Sync & The Backstreet Boys his next group would be big because he was on such a high and keep in mind that Steps had broken up The Year Before. It didn't happen and even now he hasn't found a successful Boyband/Girlgroup.
@ksajcatb Yeah, that comment about the US President was funny - although we're still in a war with Afganistan (I'm American). But I don't understand some of the cruel stuff said about Nicola and Nadine seem to have the best voice. Cheryl really was lucky to get X-Factor, which seem to propel her popularity.
The person whom everyone says is going to "Win" on these Shows never do. Tamarya Grey on American Idol was living proof of that. Neither did Adam Lambert.
If One True Voice's Song was a Bee Gees Song, it was career suicide. They had a lot of Hit Records but by today's standards, they are not Hip. Also, sadly enough with these Reality Shows, after the Show ends and the Group get out of the Number One Spot, it's pretty much over. I remember reading The US Teen Magazine J-14 (Just For Teens) and Eden's Crush (US Popstars) were only featured in Two Issues and that was it.
The Narrarator could have also said "At The Time Popstars Was The Hottest New Franchise In Muscial Reality TV where it started out in New Zealand where they also had versions in Australia, America, and even Canada and after The UK's Hearsay, it was no surprise they decided to do another version.

omg they just called they chaves
amazing to see Duncan James talk about which of them was the hottest... when he is sleeping with men now :p
Tom Dickinson it's called bisexual
He can still think women are hot he's not blind to it
He bisexual, so technically. He into mem and women, he just had a boyfriend at the moment.
Duncan into the men and women, so he is sort of bisexual not gay.
"Even the ginger one" WTF fire the writer! Nicola is absolutely stunning and together with Nadine she leads this band!
Rememeber Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes who burned her Boyfriend's House down.
