Practical magic is forever my favourite film. I had celestial trinkets as a teen and wore sun, moon, stars perfume. I loved the vibe in the 90s and still do. Love your earrings!
Wowza! You captured it perfectly! No end to the fun and magic artistry on this channel! I was not even familiar with Whimsigoth before watching this video, but your examples explained it well! Really liked the look you created Evangeline, but if I am honest, I have not seen one I haven’t liked! You never disappoint! 👍🏽. Agreed, the black cat would have been more appropriate, but don’t tell toasty! His toothy yawn at the end was kinda mysteriously haunting tho! 😅❤️
I know I keep saying this on your videos but I am OBSESSED with this look. Practical Magic is my favorite film (loved your Gillian tutorial) and it’s in heavy rotation in my life (along with The Craft and Hocus Pocus, they’re not just Halloween movies to me lol) and I’ve always aspired to live a life inspired by the Practical Magic aesthetic (the house has been my dream house since I saw it in 1998). I tend to dress more like what I’m gonna call Dark Whimsigoth (more emphasis on black clothes/leaning more into the goth), but I could totally see myself fulling dressing like the Aunts in PM as I get older, especially Aunt Frances. Anyway, I love this look so much and this aesthetic is just so cozy and nostalgic!
A shame really that you don't bring this look into the daily life and its grind. It's beautiful and fun! The human world looks so grey nowadays and women accentuating their beauty in colorful and daring ways is, I would say, almost needed. Said the girl who never wears make up.🤭
This is motivating me to finally get the very whimsigoth shirt I have altered so I can wear it! Re: dark shimmers, I really like them on the lower lashline too. If you blend them on with a brush the darker base color comes out more and the sparkle gets more subtle, and then you can concentrate it on the center or tear duct if you want to highlight those areas. I have very hooded eyes, so if I want people to see those shades I have to get a little creative.
Aw thanks! Sometimes it’s hard to keep things super diverse for every video while balancing my own style 💕 And the shade is ILNP Jackpot if you’re interested!
I just want to say that if you ever have a Collab with a brand or put out your own brand I would buy it eyes closed. I discovered your channel a few days ago trying to learn makeup again after I fell into the ‘clean girl’ makeup style pot, now I just want to PUT IT ON and play and have some fun (part of my pan challenge), anyways. You are refreshing, going back to the artistry and not just reviewing whatever, you explain, everything is clear and so well thought of, im amazed at every little color palette you make inspired by a look/theme and it is exact and cohesive and INCLUSIVE. Even though we’ve came a long way with makeup there’s so little room for darker skin tones in this niche of artistry makeup. Now I am excited again to ‘try’ because I know I won’t have to make it work. Tbh every time is see your color palette im trying to see if I could use it if it was a palette. And without a fail, I could. For all of that, I’m happy to have found you and I’m happy that you share it with us
Oh my goodness, this is such a wonderful and heartwarming comment! I’m so happy my channel has helped you with your creative makeup journey! My goal is definitely to strike that balance of finding looks that are creative yet wearable and simple in execution, and inspiring for all kinds of people. Thank you for watching 🥹💕🥹💕
Thank you for transporting me back to the 1990s with your intro. ❤😊 I totally rocked that red lip look circa early 90s with my moon & stars throw! Anyway, your purple eye look today is beautiful. ❤
This is such a fun look! That purpley color on the eye brings me back to when I made my first big makeup purchase- the Anastasia Beverly Hills "Modern Renaissance" palette. I was in LOVE with the purpley shades in there, and I was a big fan of gold as well, so I wore lots of similar eye looks. I love the whimsigoth style, both clothes and decor-wise even though I don't have much of it in my own decor or clothing. If I weren't such a fan of pastels, that'd probably be me if I ever owned a house! I love the way that the colors all work together. It has that lovely "much-ness" quality I associate with the style. With you talking about green as another whimsigoth color, it makes me curious how a green & purple or a green & gold & purple eye combo would look!
Whimsigoth homes are where I am in my mind, but in real life they are probably a nightmare to clean and dust ( so many hanging tapestries and sheer materials and lots of non easy wipeable velvet) lol
Never got pulled into those series (docus for breakfast, remember?), but absolutely am towards this color palette, and aesthetics. Recall those very blankets as well, nostalgia deluxe! Not long ago, I got acquainted w/ a queer dude across the waters in neighbor country (where I am as much as possible), and the place he then rented 2nd hand -- from a burner, maybe to no surprise -- was AMAZING. Exactly the kind you describe; moss (!) on several walls, trinkets and 2nd hand finds everywhere, burgundy velvet full-length curtains, magical lighting (old, ornate building as well) ... you get the idea, I'm sure. Just beautiful in every way. He has a very good eye for these things, both for himself and his own attire, and in decorating, so he'd also bettered a lot while living there, and the parties he held for us chosen ones (definitely how it felt) were quite memorable. They also got him kicked out of there eventually, however ... Quite like your moon earrings today, and hair up. Would love more content of this kind! You got real close to my own go-to combo when looking for this "air": Mine is purples or burgundies w/ copper, tan or antique tones (simply not much for "regular" gold, probably why the tweaked shades). I'd LOVE to see the blk cat one day though, if possible; they've been my faves since childhood, and I've had 2 myself through the yrs.🙏
Omg, that person sounds so cool!! I wish more people would get more whimsical and creative with their decor. Enough millennial grey!! Alas, you do have to have an eye for it to really create a space that’s got that certain magic… like stepping on a film set!
@@evangelinemolly In some aspects, he def is. However, when it comes to putting his feet where his mouth is, as well as treating ppl w/ basic respect and mutuality -- turned out, not so much. Meaning that budding friendship unfortunately crashed and burned. I just couldn't take one w/o the other. Otherwise, ITA! I mean, I can appreciate a "beige", sober place, for sure. But overall I couldn't live in such a space. It's just not me. For me, it's especially the late 60ies version btw, that gets all my engines going.
I love your make up looks, but I’m going to be honest, it kind of seems like in a lot of videos, the make up ends up, looking very similar… I would love to see you try something very different
@@evangelinemollyI’m new to your channel, but looking over the thumbnails I can see what they’re saying. The makeup is beautiful in all of them and you clearly have a bit of a set aesthetic. All of the thumbnails I see off the bat looking at your profile show a bold lip, eye look applied in a similar shape, with the same shape of a darker contouring blush. Some of the eyes look a little lighter than others, but the overall application of eye makeup looks very similar. It all looks beautiful and suits you, so I don’t see it as negative at all- but if you were specifically trying to respond to that viewer request, maybe playing with different blush placement/saturation or more neutral lip colors would come off as a more noticeable departure from the norm? [Tbh, I don’t think it’s a bad thing, it’s just a thing. When I was doing makeup professionally my makeup looked pretty similar even when I tried to branch out because I had a general map of my face in my own head that I thought looked best with my anatomy, so even when I tried new colors/tones the overall effect looked largely the same. I looked cute, though! 😂]
I am definitely pretty set on the “shapes” so to say, so maybe that’s something to play with more. Though I must admit, when I try different shapes, I don’t really like them, so it’s why I focus on the nuances and depths of colour and try to have fun with different colour combos instead. It’s hard cause I also want to like the makeup I wear! Now I feel a little lost 🤔 Thanks for the feedback and for watching 💕
I’m really loving the purple in the eye look, but my favorite thing was how those 2 blushes paired! It’s a great example of just trying a combo, no big deal it washes right off. I love this lip too. Opulent!
Ahhh Whimsigoth is my all time favorite aesthetic, and I incorporate it into my life as much as possible, love this so much ❤
It’s such a fun style!
I love everything about this!!! Revlon’s Rum Raisin, Toast of New York, and Blackberry were my faves in the 90s.
Those lippies are CLASSICS!

Now you’ll see whinsigoth details cropping up everywhere in 90’s shows etc!
Ugh Lisa Bonet’s aesthetic is everything 💫💜🔮🎩
I know! I’m obsessed!
this hair is so flattering on you!
Aw thanks! It’s not my go-to!
Such a fun look! I’d love more fragrance references with these aesthetic looks like you did with the essences!
Ooh yes, I kind of forgot about that, but I’m down to do that more. Thanks for the reminder!!
I'm falling in love with everything you do 😍 thank you for making these beautiful videos!

Haha I feel you on that!! I wish more people dressed up, hair, makeup, everything!
Evangeline ever since I found your channel I’ve been wishing for you to make a whimsigoth aesthetic tutorial and as always you delivered!! 💜🕯️
Yay! I would love to do another with a more green eye!
Absolutly beautiful🤩🤩🤩

I’ll definitely try that dark shimmer technique! Thank you!
Wow it looks so good! There’s something about burgundy shades with red hair that is so pretty
😊❤️
your nail polish is gorgeous 🫠🖤
also, disagree with someone’s comment about all your videos looking the same. keep doing what you’re doing because i am in awe.

Woohoo, The Craft! 🖤
Omg… yes yes yes 😍✨✨ When you added that gold … oooohhhhh so stunning!! 😍 obsessed 😂 Beautiful!!

Gorgeous look❤
I just adore how you create your looks, Evangeline! You inspire me so much! Love from Brazil 🥰
Thanks so much, that means a lot to me! Sending love back to Brazil 🇧🇷✨

The 90s was a great time for looks! 💜
Love this!! It’s so hard finding whimsigoth makeup tutorials so I’m glad you did it!🥰
It’s such a fun aesthetic, and so nostalgic, I’m surprised there’s not more looks out there!
Loved the vibes!!! Definitely embodied the aesthetic imo. 💛💜🔮
This is an amazing look! You're really talented! Great inspo ❤🤩🪄
Thank you so much!!
Recently found your channel and I adore your videos and how you explain things. This was my teen era captured in make up,lol. Beautiful look.
Aw thank you!! I love that, such a great time for makeup!
Oh, it's a new term for me, but you nailed it!!! I loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch growing up! This look gives me all the witchy, cosy vibes!!! 🧙♀🍂🌙✨

I think of the ABH x Jackie Aina palette myself with these colours, which was one of my first palettes when I was getting into makeup!
@@evangelinemolly that was one palette that I was always sad I missed out on!

Thank you!! That’s definitely my goal! 😊💕
Lovely look! I have that Cosmic beauty palette, now I want to do a purple and yellow look too 😊. And once again I noticed your beautiful nail polish!
It’s still a new palette to me but it seems so diverse! The nail polish is ILNP Jackpot ✨
