Hi Ashley. You should do a comparison video with atom :P
And looks like few things has changed since this video in your approach towards gutter clearing 😃
Yeah, I tried to do things pretty cheaply at first. But now I kinda wish I just bought some decent kit in the first place. Lesson learned. Buy proper kit that’s going to last and charge proper miner for doing a decent job.😜👍🏼
@@aemackintosh you've just confirm my thought about getting skyvac atom instead of smorthing else 😆
Do you empty the vac into the customer's bins or take it away?
I will ask the customer first and hopefully use their bin or maybe a compost heap.😃👍🏼
Where did you get the poles for this budget setup,I've seen the 3000w hoover but not sure yet on the poles,
Thanks
I bought the cheapest aluminium poles I could find. But I have to say, if you can save a little for carbon fibre poles, it makes such a difference.😃👍🏼
I like your set up,but i cant get that vac in the usa to start my buisness.just the provac.
Sorry, I’m not sure what is available in the U.S. but I hope the video gives you some good ideas anyway.😃👍🏼
which is lighter, the aluminium pole you used or pvc pipe of same lenght?
Carbon poles are much lighter! Aluminium can be quite difficult to work with.😃👍🏼
Is the sky vac really worth the extra 2k I just can’t see how it is personally
It does have a number of unique features that make it more usable than the other brands out here, but I agree that the price is difficult to swallow.
How do you investigate the condition of the gutter? Do you climb a ladder, use a mirror or some other way?
At first I would still use the ladder just to have a look. Now I use my camera.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintoshwhat camera do you use
Do you normally turn on all 3 motors at the start of a job? Or just start with one and go from there?
If you have got three motors, why not use them.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh haha awesome thanks!
I see you have the Sky Vac now. Is there much difference between the two?
Jez Freedman The Skyvac industrial has several features that are specific to the gutter vac which set it apart from a standard wet and dry type of vac. These basically result in better performance. I have made several videos about it and the features. But I guess it depends on your budget.😃👍🏼
What size is the inlet on the vacuum? How do you find the suction on something that’s quite full in the gutter?
Double A Window Cleaning Phil It’s a 42mm inlet. It’s a pretty standard wet and dry vac to be honest, you can pic one up for a few hundred pounds. I just bought the poles to go with it. I use it for domestic jobs and it works fine. I especially like it when access is restricted and I can’t access with a ladder. If you’re doing more heavy duty commercial stuff I would think that you might want to get something more heavy duty.😃👍🏼
What’s the name of the song track toward the end of the video?
No idea. I find copyright free music from different places and I just keep it in one big playlist ready for when I need it.😃👍🏼
Does this work good?? Cuz if so that’s incredible. It’s just a shop vac with a pvc fitted to it essentially?
Window Cleaning Anthony Yeah it’s good. It’s an industrial standard wet and dry vac. You can pick them up fairly cheap. The pole set has all the connections to join it up.🍂😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services wow thanks so much for sharing this. So the pole set is a product you can buy? Or did you make it?
I bought the pole set from guttervacuumsystems.co.uk
How many watts are needed for gutters? Will 1000 watts do the trick? Cheers
Hi would you say the skyvac atom is better than a set up like this as just a bit worried the atom might not have enough power thanks
Michael Mcdougall The poles are much lighter and better to work with on the Atom. Although it hasn’t got as much power, I’ve been surprised about what it can cope with. And it is much more compact. So it depends on your budget I suppose.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh my budget is around £650 so don't know weather to go with the atom or make a set up like the one your using here thanks again
It’s a tough call. The Atom has some nice features. I would say it depends how many gutter jobs you are going to be doing, and how big. The Atom doesn’t have much capacity, so you will need to empty it often on bigger jobs. The worst thing about my budget setup here was probably the poles. So heavy in comparison to carbon fibre. So I would be tempted to spend a bit more on nice poles.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh thanks
2:20 Customer needs the moss taken off the roof more than he needs his gutters cleaned.
I made this video before I did roof cleaning.
I build that same setup under $ 25.00 that includes vacuum and tubing.
F P That’s good going. I’m finding that there is nothing quite like having the right tool for the job. I’m loving my Skyvac at the moment. Costs more, but it pays off in the end.🍂😃👍🏼
What vac tube did you use to connect the poles to the vac as mine are around 38mm
There are red flexi connectors to join the poles to the vac. I have put a link in the description to the place I bought my poles from. I’m sure they can help.🍂😃👍🏼
Thanks 👍
