We had a very nice overnight stay at The Lodge in the Vale about 4 years ago and the best continental breakfast we have ever had. Never done High Rigg or Raven Crag before, so two on my list for this year. That looked a great walk and for such a small Fell it had a massive view from the summit and a real nice loop walk, back through the valley bottom. Cannot beat a free park either, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, I like the sound of the breakfast you had, a good breakfast gets the day off to a good start! We were staying in a B&B in Keswick for a couple of nights and this walk was perfect for our final day. We didn't want anything too demanding, so this was spot on. It is a really nice walk with nice views walking along the top of the fell towards the summit and a really nice walk back through the valley. Thanks again for watching & commenting Alan, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks Linda. It is a really nice walk. Great views from one of the lower fells. A walk we will definitely be doing again sometime. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Glyn, thanks for the positive feedback, it is really appreciated. This was a really nice walk with great views for relatively small effort. We both enjoyed the day and it is definitely a walk we would do again. Thanks for watching and again thanks for the comments. Take care. Cheers. Eddie & Carol
Hi Eddie, Hi Carol, lovely video as always, I always say you get some of the biggest views from some of the smallest fells. You certainly had a lovely day for it. Thanks for sharing your day with us. Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, thanks. I agree with you, there is some great views from some of the smaller fells and this walk had some superb views. It was really nice walking along the top of High Rigg with Blencathra etc in view all the way. The walk back through the valley was also really good. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie & Carol
Hi Andy, another really nice walk and not too demanding. Some great views with relatively small effort. The view from High Rigg summit was really good looking over to Blencathra etc. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Vinnie, thank you for such positive feedback, it is really appreciated. This was another really nice walk with some great views. We didn't want a big hike on this day and this walk was spot on. Thanks again for watching & commenting. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks for this Eddie. We did this walk earlier today to start off our week in the lakes gently - ideal start to ease our aching joints before more challenging days ahead! Nick and Liz
Hi Nick, it is a nice walk and a good one to start your week in the Lakes, pleased the video was of some help. Fingers crossed the weather is kind for you, for the rest of the week. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated. Take care & Best Wishes to you both. Cheers. Eddie.
@@eddiecaisley5746 Cheers Eddie. Your clips are a joy to watch and are an inspiration for us. When we’re up here we sometimes say “we’ll do an Eddie today”! Keep up the great work, all the best.
Hi Pete, thanks. Yes I agree for one of the lower fells High Rigg has some great views and is well worth the relatively small effort. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks Eddie. Such fantastic views all round from the top of High Rigg and what a lovely path back through the valley. I remember doing this route a few years ago in torrential rain! The clouds were down so low over Blencathra, you could hardly see any of it. It really was spectacular though, but great to see it in such good weather in your video. So good in fact, I watched it twice. 👍
Hi Peter, it is a really nice route and for one of the lower fells it had great views. The walk back through the valley was also really nice. I can just picture the conditions you have described when you did this route in the rain, it would have a different feel about it, with the low cloud etc. It just goes to show, no two days are the same on the fells! Thanks for watching (twice) and for commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Alan, thanks. This was our first time on High Rigg and it certainly wont be the last! We both really enjoyed the walk. Some great views from one of the lower fells and a nice walk back through the valley. Thanks again for watching & commenting Alan, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Thanks David. It was a really nice walk. The walk along the top of High Rigg is really good with great views. The walk back through the valley was also really nice. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care & Best Wishes to you both from Carol & me.
Thanks Anthony. I am not surprised it is one of your favourites, it is a great fell with some cracking views. This was another great walk we will be doing again sometime. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Lovely walk and video Eddie, and nice to have company with you too. You don't have to go high to have a great hike in the Lakes, and you got great views at the top and the walk back along the valley floor was brilliant - nothing there to scare Carol! I watched Mal Greenley's video of Yewbarrow recently and couldn't help remembering what Carol said about it! Some tough scrambling on it, even the dog was scared!! Hope you get in a few more walks when we're away and I'll check in with you when we get back. Regards, Ashley
Thanks Ashley, it is a really nice walk with great views for one of the lower fells. I agree with you, there is some great hikes in the Lakes without the need to go higher up. The walk back along the valley was really nice. Yewbarrow is a great fell, it has some tricky sections, but well worth it. Not one of Carol's favourites, but I really like it. Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Have a great trip and get plenty of footage! Cheers. Eddie
Hi Steven, thanks. I agree, for one of the lower fells High Rigg certainly has great views. It was a really nice walk and definitely one we will be doing again sometime. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Another great video Eddie. Pat and I climbed High Rigg together way back in 2009. We were staying at Brackenrigg on the A591 and took a path from somewhere near there. The ridge looks a lovely walk though so I must try it sometime.
Hi Dave, thanks. Nice memories for Pat and yourself when you climbed High Rigg. This was a really nice walk with some great views for relatively small effort. The walk back along the valley was also good. We wanted a walk which was not too demanding and this was spot on. Hope you are both keeping well? Thanks again for watching & commenting Dave, it is appreciated. Best Wishes to you both from Carol & myself.
Hi, thanks for the positive feedback on the videos, really appreciated it. I have asked Carol a few times if she wants to speak on the videos, not a chance was her reply! She enjoys the walks and just lets me do all the filming etc. One day maybe? Thanks again for watching, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
What a coincidence Eddie, was planning a route from Castlerigg-stone-circle via tewet-tarn, low and high rigg for this summer......and now after watching this can just jump on a bus back to Keswick from your starting point on the main road 😊.......so many points of interest and viewpoints for little effort. Your usual high standard of video mate, top-drawer.........ATB.......Stu/Wendy...👌👌👍👍
Hi Stu, that sounds like a great walk you have planned. Adding the Stone Circle and Tewet Tarn sound really good. As you say, so many viewpoints for relatively little effort. High Rigg has some great views and is definitely one we will be doing again. Thanks again for watching & for the positive comments, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.
Yes, I got a surprise when it came on the screen, I sent it in this morning. I didn't think they would show it. It was from a walk we did on Saturday. Hope all is well with you. Cheers. Eddie.
Hi Eddie, myself and my two friends passed you and your wife in the trees at the very start of this walk. I recognised you both and thought about saying hello, but it felt a bit inappropriate to do so. We did exactly the same route as you. I loved the gentle stroll back to the car besides the river. Thanks for posting as always. Next time I’ll say hello! 😁
Hi Jon, I can remember you and your friends passing us at the start of the walk, you should have stopped and said hello. It would have been good to have a quick chat. This was a really nice walk and like yourself we enjoyed the walk back through the valley towards the parking area. Thanks for watching and commenting and definitely say hello next time you see us. Take care. Cheers. Eddie
