use a refillable credit card. trying to cancel ooma is impossible. on hold for hours, transferred from specialist to specialist to keep you on hold and ultimately, they want you to hang up.

We have an Ooma VOIP phone system, which we have always loved. Imagine my anger and disgust when I called to cancel my mother's Ooma service because she passed away and all the agent kept doing was to try to sell me other services or take over her line. They even tried to get me to tell them my phone number so they could cross-sell me options on my account. I hate to admit it, but I went a bit ballistic on the agent because she just wouldn't stop. I would have hung up, but I needed to wait until I could get her to say the service was canceled. I understand they are trained to sell, but there needs to be some common sense and compassion used as well. Customer Service Rating D-

I'm so sorry you went through that. I had this same experience with Verizon trying to cancel TV/Phone services. I was absolutely horrified that someone would try to sell something and refuse to cancel the account for a deceased, single person. I recall asking the rep if she understood what deceased means. I got so upset with her that I went on to tell her deceased means dead, died, not living, toes up, buried, cremated, do you now comprehend that this person will never make another call or watch tv?!?!?!?!?! After that, she finally canceled the account. It's awful that they are trained to sell something under those circumstances.

i had to cancel my service because I don't need it. the sales girl would not stop asking me why, if I would reconsider, etc. she asked the same questions over and over. it's like trying to leave a cult. finally told her that if she asked me another question I'd need to speak with her supervisor. She did it quickly and hung up on me before confirming. And to make it worse? They changed my service from basic to premier without telling me, charging me double each month for the last few months of service. service? A. customer service? F

Been with ooma business for less than a week and it is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I regret porting my phone numbers to this damn company. No one knows what the hell is going on. I've been directed to random operators in the Philippines and they are all completely lost. Prior to Ooma, I was with a phone company where my calls were directed to India. I thought those people were a pain in the ass to deal with, but the Philippines is worse!

Sorry to hear that. If you end up switching companies I’d love to hear how your experience is at the new company so we can share that here for others.

Mine went live this past Friday, so it's been one week of awful support. I finally had someone yesterday that a) I could understand what she was saying and b) she knew what needed to be changed so I was set up properly. That was a two and a half hour support call. We have 90% of my issues fixed. I'm still having issues with text messaging limitations. Also, when you import your contacts, they have a 1000 limit and I was not informed of that by the sales rep. I have 2000+ contacts. The main reason for me getting this service is for the recording of calls, which is required in my industry. I'm hopeful they get the messaging fixed and I'm on cruise control. I believe the rep I spoke to yesterday was the 6th person. Keep calling until you get someone that has a clue about how to help you.

Referrals do count and there is a lot wrong with the comments about Ooma. I was almost tricked into purchasing it. Too bad, my senior parents really need a low cost land line.

. I have a question. I just want to port my expensive att number to ooma.. Once the phone number is ported to Ooma, I intend on permanently forwarding the phone number to my cellphone. My concern are does your Ooma voip need to be turn on for the call forwarding to work? So if you were to lose your internet connection , I was hoping the Ooma would still forward the calls. . I appreciate your help. Thanks

Don't trust. Worst experience!!!Tell the price when call you , and after I paid more,so for pro version 2 lines*19,95$+tax need to be 43$, but I paid 59.72$ , added a lot of fees that we didn't discuss never,I moved from Spectrum because lying me is cheaper. There I payed 22+tax ,like 24$ for a line ,so 2 line is 48$ ,here I pay 59.72$.But I will make a complaint to the FCC for a scam.I recorded our conversation with sales person(after agreeing to be recorded) and I will give to FCC to solve the problem. It is a lot of scammers in this country. Avoid Ooma

TERRIBLE! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! IF YOU FORGET YOUR PASSWORD YOUR PHONES GET LOCKED OUT AND NOT EVEN OOMA CAN UNLOCK THEM. THEY TAKE AN ACTIVATION FEE AND CANCELLATION IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. GOING TO DIALPAD. ON HOLD FOREVER. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! BORDERLINE FRAUD!
