Yeah, because it is suspicious activity to record the ECP of a military base. Force protection training tells military personnel to be on the lookout for things like this because that is the tactics that terrorists use to plan attacks.

Wiesbaden, Bowling, Loring SAC Bases and Army Depots or whatever such as Seneca Army Depot and Ramstein.....which is now USAFE Headquarters I believe anyways............But there were times we were riding bikes or camping and the Base Police would sneak up on us......My friends father was Chief Of Po Po BUT Back to this issue...situation the Base has the right to film this guy! we all have rights!!

That is a SEAL base. They don't want even the remote possibility that your camera man will capture a SEAL's, or any other individual's, face on camera, that is entering or leaving the base. That intelligence can be exploited in many ways, and must be avoided when possible. That is what they are concerned about.
Considering that there are so many ways to capture photos and videos without their knowledge, imagining that alledged enemies would use this kind of approach to capture sensible information is just dumb. Whoever wanted to do that would do it with hidden cameras or from a distance with powerful lens.
True but if anyone saw people using a high powered lens, they'd stand out as suspicious. Using a hidden camera probably wouldn't work out well because they'd need to get even closer from multiple angles. Most of the things that happen today are because people hide in plain sight and don't look suspicious. Someone trying to get video intel could have easily done the same thing these guys did, except maybe not be as accommodating, use a false publication and give them a false name. It's not like anything was verified. Also, I agree with m018264808888. I would think a SEAL base would be one of the most secure and overly protective installation in the country. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't let anyone around for a 1/4 of a mile with any photography equipment. First amendment or not, you have a lot of intelligence going through there and you have to draw a line for national security. I don't want to go into details but there are a lot of crazy and untrustworthy people that can do a lot with a license plate number or following someone around. We have a reserve Army and Air Force base here that is now home to a bunch of drones. There has been people outside of the base protesting for years and they've tried to do some ridiculous things. When you're around the base on a public road and you decide to stop and hang out, depending on where you are if you look out of place, there's a good chance you'll be getting a visit from either the MP's or the sheriff's department to check on you. Personally I'd rather they error on the side of caution and not have to argue with everyone that it's their constitutional right to be there. Depending on what you're doing, it still may look suspicious.

This isn't hard to prove either, as if every person was granted such rights by divine fiat, people's in other countries wouldn't have different rights.

Why is it that present day military, security & cops are not trained & informed on citizen rights & the Constitution? Is it just ignorance on their part or deliberate suppression by their superiors to keep their staff in-informed?
Much of it due to brain drain. Intelligent folks are not the ones signing up for this kind of work anymore. There is a culture of incompetence in a lot of these places too; what I mean is, if you try to actually study and be smart, you get looked down on and criticized for it.

When people are taking pictures and videos of secure facilities, of course they get nervous. They want to prevent an attack on a base. Period. And especially not have their Seal Teams identified at this base. Nor do they want to have videos out here giving enemies intel. Amazing that all these activists think they're doing good and can be easily giving the enemies the intel they need. N. Korea for instance may not have even known this was a Seal base until this video was posted.

Bill Stout Sells Cars because our enemies (other countries) use videos like this as intelligence. When they know the number of aircraft on a flight line, can find unmonitored entry points, etc., it's presenting vulnerabilities. Now it's not just enemies trying to recon for these vulnerabilities, but every day people now giving up the intel.
Don't get mad at me, I'm just telling the honest truth about how these types of videos are readily able to be exploited by enemies. You asked the question.
That is a SEAL base. They don't want even the remote possibility that your camera man will capture a SEAL's, or any other individual's, face on camera, that is entering or leaving the base. That intelligence can be exploited in many ways, and must be avoided when possible. That is what they are concerned about.

Considering that there are so many ways to capture photos and videos without their knowledge, imagining that alledged enemies would use this kind of approach to capture sensible information is just dumb. Whoever wanted to do that would do it with hidden cameras or from a distance with powerful lens.
True but if anyone saw people using a high powered lens, they'd stand out as suspicious. Using a hidden camera probably wouldn't work out well because they'd need to get even closer from multiple angles. Most of the things that happen today are because people hide in plain sight and don't look suspicious. Someone trying to get video intel could have easily done the same thing these guys did, except maybe not be as accommodating, use a false publication and give them a false name. It's not like anything was verified. Also, I agree with m018264808888. I would think a SEAL base would be one of the most secure and overly protective installation in the country. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't let anyone around for a 1/4 of a mile with any photography equipment. First amendment or not, you have a lot of intelligence going through there and you have to draw a line for national security. I don't want to go into details but there are a lot of crazy and untrustworthy people that can do a lot with a license plate number or following someone around.
We have a reserve Army and Air Force base here that is now home to a bunch of drones. There has been people outside of the base protesting for years and they've tried to do some ridiculous things. When you're around the base on a public road and you decide to stop and hang out, depending on where you are if you look out of place, there's a good chance you'll be getting a visit from either the MP's or the sheriff's department to check on you. Personally I'd rather they error on the side of caution and not have to argue with everyone that it's their constitutional right to be there. Depending on what you're doing, it still may look suspicious.

"let them know what we're up against" - he literally feels this is a challenge to defeat the constitution... his mindset is, we have to find some way around the constitution, so we can continue to impose our will on the people, instead of the people imposing their will upon us... this is the mindset that has to change among the ranks, they don't honor their oath, they honor their masters, the senior officer who tells them to do something... this is why we need to correct the senior members, and replace them with people willing to uphold the constitution, and not suspend it when they don't want to be held accountable to it...
I mean he keeps saying "you're absolutely right" and how on city property they can't control it... yet ALL he is doing, is attempting to control you on city property and that you're not right... otherwise he wouldn't have stepped foot out there to confront you and make it an issue... for someone who says its your right, and there is nothing he can do, he sure seems intent on intimidating you into submission and convincing you that he does have some right to control you... he can't even keep his own stories straight, either you're doing nothing wrong like he says at one moment, or you're doing something wrong like he says the other moment... so which is it officer IQ? is it right or is it wrong? stop the double talk and changing your mind...
