I was holding my breath when he started shading the right building. Whoa that was some *shade*! Turned out amazing though! Thank you so much for these great classes.
Gary, thank you so much for your videos. It is a real joy to see advanced painting techniques so generously shared. You have set me on a new path which I intend to enjoy. God bless you.
I don't know if this was for ME or it was already in the works but...THANK YOIU...love the pdf with all explanations of how and why to draw it. I try to follow all your videos, it's like having a private class from you... Thank you so much for all you contribute, it's such a gift. I wish I didn't live in San Francisco, I would really enjoy your classes...maybe one day on holiday!!
Very helpful re the light and atmosphere. Your commentary with insights and instructions on color brushes etc. helps my mind grasp what you’re trying to do so I can learn thank you so much
This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing of your exquisite talent, but also for the tremendous amount of work you put into your teaching. Deeply grateful... thank you.
Another masterpiece! As an architect I know enough about perspective, but.... the way you did it is totally new for me, and it works!!! No squares, ruler and compass and it looks wonderful. I really like the way you paint. Until next week, in Venice.
Gary your narrate when you paint is help for my learning process.the diminish aspect by using the colour temperature, edges and sizes, all these made the depth of painting. Thank you for providing outstanding piece of painting.
Stunning painting and a very informative tutorial. It’s amazing how light and shadow can really bring the painting alive. Just a dot here and there on the shoppers head and shoulders can be so effective too. I love watching this all come together. Thank you so much.
Gorgeous Gary, love the way your figures merge into the scene, you don’t paint them too stark, I’m always impressed by how you resist the urge to tighten up.
Another great tutorial with PDF attached. Really helps to be able to refer to. I'm having a hard time with perspective and foreshortening when it comes to drawing things out. Much appreciated
Wow--beautiful! I appreciate the artistic education you provide while you paint. Your videos are far above others I have watched because of this--I've learned so much. Also I am using a ceramic pan like you use here and have tried using fresh paint rather than the dried paint to add water to use. The fresh paint has made a nice improvement in the value of the color not looking so washed out. Love the inspiration that you provide to continue to learn and improve.
Hello Gary, This is breathtaking, I really confused how it turned out to a great masterpiece. I appreciate you for making such tutorial videos without getting tired and dilatory. Maybe it would be good that you briefly explain us your working table order and material layout. Because it seems very good. Many many thanks for sharing and looking forward to next one. Regards. 🌹🌹🌹😊😊
Yeah! I think I finally get the steeper bit as things go back. I did really like the video you did on formal perspective. But this way you explain it lends a more artistic view of the art work Really another great lesson and a wonderful piece. Love the sun light feeling. Wonder how long it takes to get the feel of the amount of pigment you have on the brush?
Have you tried out digital watercolor rebelle 5 pro? (Onsale right now I think) if so, wo design. What your thoughts of it are.? Might be a good tool for preliminary studies, as you can undo steps if they don't work out right, and note why they didn't, and adjust. My problem is that my attempts start out looking like waterco,or, but the more I work it, the more it begins losing thst look, ie canvas texture gets covered too much with pigment, so,it begins looking like an acrylic painting more. UT I can work in layers and delete them if they don't work, out. Which is a big plus, sort of, but doing physical paintings forces us to make right decisions more as there are no undos really. Digitsl, has its pluses and minuses I guess.
Thank you so much for your kind tutorial videos and the detailed information written below the video. Love your paintings and yes, your "tremendous effort of putting this together." 💜👍👍👍 btw, I love your studio easel. Where do I find these?
Gary, as always, thank you for sharing your time. I do a lot of 1,2,3,4, and 5 point perspective architectural drawings for pleasure but watching your loose pencil work is wonderful. Do you use a 1 metre pencil? Just joking. Your shirt is perfect for showing perspective. Once again, thank you. You explain everything so clearly. West
Hi, alizarin is a cool primary red (not a center red of course) . But is a red after all! and will read as warm against blues, greens and purples. Is against warm reds, oranges and some yellows that will be felt as cooler.
Seeing the hand scribble loosely is comfort to my eyes -
Thanks for sharing this 👍🖤
I was holding my breath when he started shading the right building. Whoa that was some *shade*! Turned out amazing though! Thank you so much for these great classes.

Thank you for the kind words Erkin - I will give that some thought for future demonstrations.
Complex Ari textual painting but hit bit by bit for great job
Thank you!
I'm still working on it. I can't get those awnings! I need to become more fluent with the laws of perspective. Thanks for trying to help with that.

Thx Sarah - thank you for the wonderful comments....like anything practice will make you fluent..
great tutorial, my one question is...is that a living gecko or what??
Ha ha - he is plastic - but I make him look alive by moving him around occasionally

Bluesky - thanks for the support and encouragement - I got this table from dickblick years ago - its an architects table...

Surin, thanks for sharing your perspective and your sense of humor!! I’m happy you picked up on my shirt!
Thanks Mr. Tucker for the great video. The drawing portion was so insightful. Bad drawing--not so good of a painting I think!
Hussmeister- spot on!
Gary, I think the pdf is for the next lesson, not this one. I see the bridge not the market attached above. Thanks.
Thx Andrea - problem fixed :)
Interesting the way the Alizarin on the foreground warms it up...whereas I always think of Alizarin as a cool colour
I was thinkin the same thing. I suppose it must be because it's all relative to the other colours present.
Hi, alizarin is a cool primary red (not a center red of course) . But is a red after all! and will read as warm against blues, greens and purples. Is against warm reds, oranges and some yellows that will be felt as cooler.
Ann, yes - color is sooo relative - each color dependent on what’s next to it....always a balancing act..
thanks
Where'd the lizard go? He was there in the beginning, then he disappeared.
Dan He was shedding his skin and became self concious

you do true art compared to the lady in the add...but she does have good mixing practices n such
