That truck brings back memories of a bear hunting expedition I went on back in 1984 in N.B. Canada . The guide drove us to our spots where we posted all afternoon until dusk . Just you and your rifle . The guide had a rig just like yours but more often he took us around in an f150 2wd on semi paved trails ( crushed stone ) , logging trails I mean . I’ll tell you , if I were blind folded and dropped into Alaska , I’d almost swear i was in Canada . Even upstate mew York looks like that . Can’t beat it , it’s just Gods country . Different life different living . Miss the hunting trips upstate New York but that’s a different story . Enjoy the outdoors up there ! Just got to dress for the occasion , I guess ✌️
Such a majestic old girl. Its amazing to me how an older truck can still manage to look decent when its a bit beat. Also those old American made bias plies never die, there are countless grain trucks rolling around here with 40+ year tires.Yet chinaman trailer tires cant seem to make it 5 years without delaminating.
All my old ford's have the closed knuckle u joints on the front my 59/60/62/63/64/and 68 like yours only one that doesn't is my 76 it's got HD 44 with the big hubs. I got factory 17s on my 63 it's got 4.56 gears from factory . Thoes trucks are not fast on the hwy but you still get there. Keep up the good work
You remind me of me growing up in Texas I took a 3/4ton blue Fordtruck cab and 1/2 and tried to jump a stock tank on family ranch when I was 14 didn't make it,we pulled out with tractor truck started up and was ready for more, good clean fun keep em coming good video
Love it! I used to put my old highboy in low lock and granny first gear it would idle up the hill next to my parents house which is very steep! I got to say I'm a tad bit jealous of where you live! Absolutely beautiful 🔥💯🇺🇲
Love those Highboys there must have been a fair number that made it up to Alaska. I wonder which company sold the most 4x4's in Alaska in the 60's and 70's.
Hey Brother! You got back to us just in time! I see ole 'Ethyl' still in end of winter slumber. Can't wait for the new progress. We're so hooked that it slips our mind that you have a life too. We are blessed to have you for a friend!
I'd say larger diameter would be beneficial, new or not. She's got the gearing for it already. That said, I totally get sticking with those old bias plys on a truck you don't put many miles on. You can't hardly wear them out and unlike radials, if they don't get rolled for long periods of time through temperature extremes, their tread doesn't just come unraveled. At least that's my experience in extreme heat. How do bias plys do vs radials in extreme cold?
You know I miss vent windows on vehicles, could get a decent breeze through them lol! Thanks for the video, I look forward to them all, Thanks!! Careful driving by the trees, you might put a dent in her LOL!!
Glad you are back to the land of the living, Thought that that Alaskan weather had got you, but you showed us spring comes early up north .and you are doing well with the old Ford by your side.
Talking about old tires. I have a running unrestored 1919 Oshkosh with what I believe to be 1 original tire and the other 3 from at least the 30s as I know the lineage of the truck. I agree about new tires being suspect to coming apart after 5 to 10 years.
Love those highboys. That looks like it might be the old hydraulic assist steering. Tough to find rams to fix leaks and rust for but looks like there is a bit of a limited slip going on. Chain it up and leave it be. Nice rig.
Good to see you are doing good. I know living in alaska this time the year it's right to work prepping for the next winter. Love the video my pops had a truck just like yours. His buddy bought it restored it an still on the road.
Thanks for the inspiration! Got a 72 cab I’m restoring, putting a 69 grill on it. Dreaming about a high boy chassis in my local junk yard I’ve been trying to get them to sell me.
I'm looking forward to all that bud! That blue Ford is one of my favorite rigs, although it's hard to narrow down a fave in your fleet. I'm kind of a Willys jeep guy myself (3) , M37 etc...Thanks!
Trucks are on another level for resale in Alaska. My mom just sold her 2004 f-350 crew cab long bed which was all clapped out for 5,000. From what I understand, they guy bought it for the running gear. Truck wasn’t exactly for sale, that is what the guy offered her for it. So she sold it
How much do you want for that truck here in Michigan we cannot find any of them there isn’t rusted bad they’ve been long gone 69 is my favorite year of Ford truck
Hey there...have you done front brakes on the old ford trucks, i've got two old highboys and going thru the front brakes, its been swapped out to a dually rearend so i don't know whats in there yet to discover.
Do all your trucks have 16.5" rims? I'm trying to find tires for a '71 F250 with the original 16.5" wheels and can only find military tires or Interco tires. Might buy a set of 16" rims so I have better tire selection.
Some tire chains on that old girl and shed be unstoppable!! I love bombing around in an old 4x4. 👍

I was wondering where you went. Finally!! break-up. No more cabin fever. Good old Ford by the way
That old Ford deserves some new rubber.
Peg disagrees....
Love it! I used to put my old highboy in low lock and granny first gear it would idle up the hill next to my parents house which is very steep! I got to say I'm a tad bit jealous of where you live! Absolutely beautiful 🔥💯🇺🇲
Started to wonder if you fell of the earth 😆. I would drive that high boy anywhere. 👌✌
Badass truck ,I love bumpsides that truck is perfect just tighten it up a bit and maybe a cam and headers with glasspacks.
That’s when they made trucks. I always look for the oldies, not too many affordable ones for sale. Thanks.
Welcome back friend. Thanks for the snow show in the ole ford.
I could just tune in to watch them beautiful old ford's blasting threw the snow. Your doing it right up there in Alaska
Like my father used to say about old Ford trucks - practically show the ignition the key, then go just about anywhere!
Gotta love an old 4xFerd. MIIIIIIINNNNTTTTT. You need a set of bias plies with some more tread than those eh!
I got a 69 f250....6cylinder 4 speed👍👍👍👍👍👈
1965-1972 FORD TRUCKS?- BEST 4WD MADE FOR A WORKING STIFF.

That’s the best $1000 truck
Never change that truck...NEVER!
Love those Highboys there must have been a fair number that made it up to Alaska. I wonder which company sold the most 4x4's in Alaska in the 60's and 70's.
I had a 69 military Highboy. It was built to run on the railroad. Talk about a tank. I miss that truck. I got hard up for money and sold it years ago.
Nice truck stay warm, safe and healthy.
You don't even have to whistle and the truck knows to come to you...smart truck.
Sweet truck! Also, I love the sound of those old Ford engines. Keep having fun 👍
Hey Brother! You got back to us just in time! I see ole 'Ethyl' still in end of winter slumber. Can't wait for the new progress. We're so hooked that it slips our mind that you have a life too. We are blessed to have you for a friend!
I believe if you had a set of new tires on that old truck you couldn't get it stuck
I'd say larger diameter would be beneficial, new or not. She's got the gearing for it already. That said, I totally get sticking with those old bias plys on a truck you don't put many miles on. Glad to see you made it through winter. Nothing better than bombing around in the old ford. Thanks for the update.
Now that is a boat load of fun...
ford power I love it. I have a 1990 F250 with a 460 stainless steel headers 3.5 exhaust with a loud flowmaster.
Hope you made it to spring ,cant wait for the next .

Looks fun in the snow but she made it threw ok and the tires held up ok but more tread would work well in that stuff for sure i bet... thanks

I was about to ask “what happened to candy apple?” 🤦♂️😂
It's a great old truck. I would buy some new snow tires. It would make that truck unstoppable.

I'm looking forward to all that bud! That blue Ford is one of my favorite rigs, although it's hard to narrow down a fave in your fleet. I'm kind of a Willys jeep guy myself (3) , M37 etc...Thanks!
I'm a Ford man, but I love Chevy, if not for them... my tools would rust
I saw that second gear start, I won’t tell😁🤔👍
That's cuz you don't need "granny gear" 1st unless you're pulling something.
Whoopsie 😂
am a big fan of David Paulides, Missing 411..you have any good stories you know or heard of?
Should still be made like that.

Just need a good ol rev and dump lol
What do you do for a job?
Bald tires and still ate it 😁
Young life peg!
How much do you want for that truck here in Michigan we cannot find any of them there isn’t rusted bad they’ve been long gone 69 is my favorite year of Ford truck

The rusty gold (junk) is a good way to keep you from going stir crazy during the long winters... I hope you're not up there by yourself

Is anyone ALIVE OUT THERE!!???
Hope ur doing well & looking forward to a NEW Video bro!!!
How do you find these old trucks

Those rims could be from an old railway truck, they were narrow and very little offset.
Check out Craigslist anchorage under heavy equipment wwII trucks for sale looks like a ton of trucks parts fur ya
Needs chains on the tires.....
Manifold leak?
Do you have 1000 acres, or do you run your trucks on the back roads?
