Given that regardless of whether you are using enamel, lacquer or "acrylic" paints the pigments are all acrylic and it's just the carrier/thinner that differs (solvent, lacquer, or alcohol/water) what camp do these fall into?
From what we can see (and smell) it is definitely water, quite similar to the Gunze Aqueous range, but flows much more evenly which indicates finer pigments.
In regards to airbrushing, do these paints require anything other than thinner when mixing? For Vallejo products, I find that flow improver and retarder is almost necessary. Is Dual Exo thinner the only thing required to get these paints airbrush ready?
Vallejos Flow Improver is no real Flow Improver, its a drying accelerant that doesnt really break surface tension. Use a real Flow Aid (i.e. Liquitex or something like that) and you might notice that airbrushing Vallejo paints becomes a lot smoother
AK's Dual EXO paints claim to be viscous enough for airbrush use straight out of the bottle, though if you are spraying with a fine needle (0.3 or below) you may need to thin it down a bit more. The goal is to have the consistency of skim milk, so thin your paint accordingly.
So is it the Polymer that makes it for Mecha Models?

Nope. I use them and just use the exo thinner.
