I tend to find myself watching these crazy videos on painting and feel like it’s unattainable for me now, but when I watch you, it looks so easy. I know the the stigma of slap-chop but you can’t argue how good it comes out 9/10 times.
If you are constantly plugged in to the internet there is a stigma around everything. Just paint. No one else has to be involved. The only thing that matters is the goals you set for yourself.
OMG, had to lol when you said you didn't know where to get a sixth mini from. For God's sake mate, you have 3D printers! There are so many creators out there you could source from. Station Forge immediately comes to mind since you've mentioned them, but you may want to look at Raging Heroes as they have a massive range and are super creative and take slap chop really well. :)
Gravelord Grey from army painter is my preferred black. Applying good old blobs of that stuff (using brush to guide most of paint where i want it) make so good metallic effect. Tried using Grim Black and didnt like how.. well black it looks.
I think it's easy to get sidetracked when you have 3d printers and other hobbies i actually have a Warhammer backlog (pile of potential) which I never thought id have because of the price of it, im initially a scale modeller and more recently miniatures again as i used to build and paint gw in my teens, now i have printers my backlog of cars, gundam and miniatures from various companies has grown and I now have a backlog of 3d prints to paint too . Enjoying the dailies see you tomorrow 😊
Are they supposed to be Black Legion? That gold with that semi transparent black gives a really good Iron Warriors look, just needs the hazard striping
I have no experience with the Army Painter product. I've bought into the Vallejo Xpress color line. And they have more than one black. Which give some variety in the black you want to use and the look you want to achieve.
More on topic i have revel black which is pretty good and comes in matt, satin and gloss, i have Vallejo air black Which I use often and has a satin finish i use Vallejo model colour black which has a lesser satin finish and i have black smoke by ak which is more of a dark grey matt finish, I've not bought into speed paint yet but do have black ink from fountain pen cartridge and that has blu/purple tint and i have just picked up Windsor and Newton ink set ive not tried the black yet but ill let you know when I do . I've only recently bought citadel paint and a few of their contrast paint but i wasn't impressed with the contrast, their base acrylic is good compared to the cheapest acrylic on the market in the uk
Black legion contrast is my go to however I've never tried the greenstuff world. I've heard bad things about their company practices but not their products. I'll still try them next time I see them for sale at least

Don't worry about standard you produce like anything with practice you will improve over time the important thing is to enjoy and have fun
"Pile of opportunity" has literally changed my total outlook...thanks.
Black legion contrast is the GOAT of black paints.

Another day, well done Jon. So enjoyable l feel spoilt getting a new video everyday.
The red you've used on the cloaks looks like a lovely paint. In my opinion the best black paint for slapchop is GW's Black Templar.
Pile of opportunity. I like that.
Awesome job, great perseverance with this challenge. Looking great by the way 👍
which white colour do you use for dry brushing?

Great video Jon. Don't lose that voice, lots of videos to go yet.
3:30 I find Citadel Black Templar a lot better, and as for golden bits 4:23 I love Vallejo Glorious Gold
Second on citadel black Templar 👍
Excellent video, mate 👍👍👍

Love the chaos
Maybe you should try black with a first coat of dark blue or purple. Just a coat of black makes it seem a bit too light/lavish.
Mine are always to dark. I’m gonna try priming in grey then light grey dry, then white.

Nice. They look appropriately chaotic. PS: that wasn't your thumb you used to smear the blood with...😂
🎼🎶 On the eleventh day of paint much the miniature hobbyists should of picked up a day planner.
❤️🤘🔥
My black is definitely very black
The chosen are so expensive
I did not read that as batchslap.
PERFECT ? Really ?
No need to be a toxic asshole tho
Looks perfect enough to me.
