I have a buddy who lives in Australia and says it’s hard to be in a band cause it’s expensive to in Australia and he tells me a lot of these bands don’t even play shows and he hasn’t even herd of more than half of the bands I find on here that are from Australia

Ben Severance I don't think they're ALL internet bands. Some do tours. But I suppose the logistics in such a large relatively under populated county are challenging. Then again black metal is full of studio only often one man bands. It doesn't devalue what they do just cos they don't play live.
