This section was crazy the first time I experienced it going from such a wholesome cutscene to being reminded you’re playing a game inspired by Cormac McCarthy novels
Just watched the episode.... They wasted the song. They could have used it like they did here, but they didn't :( It was just played while they drove, such a letdown
That f**king roar from Joel at 3:38 just sends shivers down my spine… like he’s just started going into full Incredible Hulk mode, now you’re definitely dead 😅
@@bryansbag At first I was kinda ehh about this change but tbh I like it more now. He was just some bitter old man and unless you looked into the lore wouldn't have even known bill and frank were partners. They got what they wanted from bill a car and supplies just like the game.
Dude I'm gonna be real. You play like a game journalist. And you tried to turn the music off. But it was still enjoyable to watch and the fact they actually made you struggle and even almost kick your ass was refreshing. Most clips and people usually go on a murder spree and wreck these guys.
@@makhibarber7213 Yeah but Abby was an ungrateful bitch a killed him then was surprised when Ellie came back to kill her. I’ll stop before this devolves into me showing how terrible of a character Abby is and how she single handily ruined everything.
@@TheManWhoErasedHisNane I mean she definitely ruined everything im just saying this was a terrible comparison especially since she came specifically to kill Joel…… don’t misconstrue this as me praising her I wanted to put a bullet In her head as much as the next guy
This is my favourite scene and gameplay. That music hits differently with 3d headphones on. It's beautiful if you shoot them in the sunlight and see the misty blood fly everywhere. This dude didn't play the scene well.
The Logan(2017) movie is what a Tlou live action should be, the Wolverine and his daughter fought and killed many people brutally in that movie to survive in their journey across America, yet the movie still manages to portray the depth of their relationship and made audiences emotionally cry in the end. Reducing the violence is clearly not a good way, one of Tlou crucial elements is that Joel & Ellie encountered constant ambushes from the hunters and infecteds in their adventure, they bonded through those fatal situations, the few peaceful scenes where they can have a proper conversation feel very impactful as a result. Meanwhile in the show they mostly just walk and sleep, there're very little struggles so i'm afraid their relationship couldnt be as strong compared to the game.
this scene looks off after watching the original so many times. joel looks too old and depressed in the remake, I'll always love the remaster. original joel is my joel
Yeah, it generally looks off in my opinion. The artistry is missing in some shots. Emotions are lacking in new faces. The previous ones were amazingly animated. Its clear the old animations didnt fit as well with new models. New lighting also makes some shots look nonsense, the bus dropping on them from the side is not visible until last second, which feels weird and unintended. In original the window from the side of Ellie gets broken, to show immedieately after the bus beggining to roll on them and Ellies reaction to it, then you get impact. Here? You get flash of the bus, but the impact isnt earned, as there is no buildup and point of previous shot is now gone.
This is a Silly comparison Showing over the top violence during gameplay is one thing, but it would have not worked at all in the show because while tv show Joel may have done some shitty things in the past he has not killed nowhere near as many people as video game Joel has. Joel in the game has killed hundreds of NPC's so has no problem with finding creatively violent ways to kill even more of them while in the show he does not even want Ellie to see him killing 1 guy and clearly killing people does bother him in a way that it never did for Joel in the game
@@shavp exactly. Also there's the whole thing where crashing your car, getting beaten up and having your head smashed through glass and then killing everyone fairly easily probably wouldn't seem very realistic in a show as opposed to a game where you can heal
@@shavp how do you know he hasnt killed many people? The guy literally said he was a hunter and did shitty things to survive for the last 20 years, in order to survive in this world that long, he definitely fought and killed a lot.

Was it so hard for the show to just 1:1 the entire ambush?
Nah fr, one of the best scenes. Absolutely butchered it. I know they wanna expand the story but c'mon... They had one job here.
Agree. They butchered that scene, made it some boring shooting and already trying to make us feel guilty for a nobody's death
Yes it literally is harder to do that dumbass make a tv show and try to recreate t that scene in real life
The Remaster is so much better and realistic.
In the Remaster Joel had some scratches (3:36) and so much blood (3:56) is impossible.
