As an HVAC Tech I actually agree with this, anytime I see a dirty or physically demanding job I don't want to do I recommend a plumber. All I want to do is sit spaciously in front of furnaces and for air conditioners I setup my magnet umbrella so the sun can't tan my soft and delicate skin while my digital probes do all the brain stuff.
until its an attic or crawl space job with spiders and possoms lol
Your obviously a plumber mad at the hvac guy
Lmfao! Man, that’s hilarious! I say that because I was on a job and the hvac guy told the customer to call us and my ass was deep in the attic standing on a joist and he was over there with this smirk like glad I’m not over there. 😂😂
@@thejackofeverything7961spiders, skunks, and snakes, Oh my!
HVAC guys take bubble baths when they get home with an exfoliating apricot scent scrub with pumice and cucumbers on the eyes
Every one hates the HVAC guy till they need them remember that.
Only because warranty doesn’t allow customers to work on their items!
Dont forget when the customer gets the bill. They hate you again.
@@SleddingLizardYou have all the tools? Do you understand things like CFM per ton, Superheat and Subcooling? Know how to properly size a duct? Do you have tools like guages, vacuum pump, recovery machine, oxy/acetylene torch, and all the necessary hand tools.
Thats why you don't work on your own equipment.
#14- There is nothing called an HVAC crack in everyday language. When I was in HS, I was debating all 3 of the trades, as an HVAC guy, we do work in all three between wiring equipment and controls, running refrigerant lines and drains and an occasional humidifier line and the science behind moving air around and putting that pesky heat and humidity in the appropriate location. Plus it didn't hurt that my mom told me that she didn't want me playing with turds no matter what it paid.
As a plumber here in Southeast Texas and after this heat we had. I would shit in the yard behind a tree before I let my A/C not blow cold.... That is why I am best friends with my A/C bud... When he calls I drop what I am doing to care of his plumbing needs because he keeps my house cold when I need it....
I can say as an HVAC tech plumbers never have to put on an HVAC hat, but as an HVAC technician, I have to put on a plumbing hat, electrician hat, contractor hat before I can even be an HVAC tech let that sink in
for a condensate drain?? that don't count..
HVAC tech in Las Vegas, we’re King out here in the desert, but plumbing is cool. Do both! 🤙🏽
Do both!! I like it
Is union hvac just commercial/indistrial work? Or are there residential service calls? I’m just learning😭
Do you enjoy having heat and A/C in your house. Being able to refrigerate and freeze your food. Or would you like to Spend hot summers out on the covered porch (like old days) and have your pipes freeze in the winter. Would you rather have to depend on Ice from a icehouse for keeping food cold, or using a cellar.
HVAC-R is a game changer and just as important as plumbing.
Remember your list when your beer is warm. Or on a -10° night. Or on a 100° day. HVAC/R folks do everything! Plumbing, electrical, construction, and refrigeration. We do it all.
That's right ✅️... it's also the main reason we can't hire anyone. Too many one trick ponies
warm beer? Cooler with ice...problem solved
@RogerWakefield and when the ice melts? Or do you live in the Antarctic? I see your point, but HVAC/R is a lot more complex. Everyone can move $hit around. 😅🤔
Who makes sure that you have a working machine to make that ice? You give us water but we make it change state.
Great suggestions. Now I’m definitely going to start on my plumbing career. Thanks my friend for your help of making my decision more easier now.
I wish I could send photos, my brother the plumber just completed a 3” PRV & 2” Backflow on a Domestic water main for a 28 story building. They where stoking his ego all afternoon.
Don’t get me started on them useless electricians
yea have a electrician read a schematic!
Oh trust me that’s a whole different video…or 2
I'm not saying that they don't exist, but try to find a master electrician that can wire a defrost termination clock properly. On every new construction commercial job I've ever worked on they get paid for the work and I have to fix it.😮
@@HeatGeek1 😂
This is input that makes sense and is true to a large degree, I remember roger making a statement about how a lot of places you can’t do just plumbing to make a living. That’s why a lot of plumbing companies do hvac as well, and a lot of hvac companies are electricians, etc. sometimes it’s the cards were dealt why we take on work, but one thing that’s true it up here in Michigan, it’s not as easy as opening your blinds or starting a fire. People need heat, some people need cooling, it’s how it is.
As an HVAC tech up here in the Midwest, we install and service plenty of boilers and water heaters. Not full blown plumbing but closer than an air conditioner. Not just good ole condensate drains up here Roger!
As a tech, I enjoy the work. Crawlspaces and attics suck, but I've never gotten shit on me. No snaking lines or plunging toilets for me. I also install water heaters and well tanks and pumps, so I do some plumbing.
Very very very sarcastic video....
You sure? 😅
Only 13 reasons I think your a whole lot short on that list Roger😂
I can make a pt2! 😅
Roger brother, Why do you have to do us HVAC guys dirty like this... We were friends Roger....
We’re still friends! Y’all know I’m kidding…to an extent
Guess hydronics haven't been considered.
150 psi after booster pumps and 60 psi, feeding the first 7 floors
or running a chiller system to operate that entire area multi zoned?
Guys, Mr Wakefield may be spitting facts, but remember this is all jokes and in good spirit😂
💯
I definitely think refrigeration circuits can be very complex
HVAC….we kinda do it all lol
Condenstate lines don't count as plumbing...anyone can do that 😅
@@RogerWakefieldwhat about installing water heaters, tankless water heaters, boiler systems? HVAC technicians do that as well
I asked my hvac guy why it was better than plumbing. He said no shitttttt
Love this!! Thanks Roger.
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m thinking about switching from diesel mechanic to hvac route, opinion anyone?
Sounds like a good switch to me 😎
@@RogerWakefield thanks for the input I’m thinking about it because I’m tired of the back breaking work and headaches with this semi trucks, what do you think about generator mechanic? Are those positions high in demand?
He must heard Mikey pipes and countered lol
What pushes water up hill? A pump motor. What moves air and refrigerant? Motors.
Electricity....
Counter argument: “Without good insulation and air conditioning, water and drain lines can freeze” Granted, there are such things as VAVs or Radiant and Baseboard heating, which are typically installed by plumbers, HVAC is almost just as important to maintain a sanitary environment as plumbers. I admire the skills of a good HVAC service tech who can quickly diagnose problems, or a good sheetmetal guy who can identify problems with a poorly engineered design.
You know I'm just playing around, HVAC is important, and I agree 100%, I'll take any tradesman who cares and is good at what they do.
The only things you have to know as a plumber is shit rolls down hill, pay day is on Friday, and don’t bite your nails
You have to do a video with fireworks in a clogged toilet they say they work is this true or not? Avatar clip was hilarious 😂
Why not be both?
DO both!
I would expect that an HVAC tech has alot, of repair work for fixing all these parts that fail in appliances
Why not do plumbing and HVAC? I know some guys and you-tubers who do both. Thats what I want to strive to be (mainly plumber, some HVAC)
I’m all for it!!
The reason Romans didnt have HVAC-R is because its far more technical than plumbing that works on gravity. Indoor plumbing is a modern convienance. Not too long ago people had to go an outhouse or bedpan, or walk to a water source for water.
I would be strictly in plumbing if it wasn't for me being able to work on boilers.
That HVAC must fill pretty good while the video. How does it fill when it's a non opp on a extreme time of the year, who you gonna call ? Mr. HVAC MAN.
Well its more than a little chilly in Canada in the winter. -40 Celcius, ya HVAC is 100% needed.
Just build a fire 😅
HVAC I feel is more diverse. You have to know electrical, plumbing, mechanical, physics, etc
1st year plumbing apprentice! Plumbers should be paid the most by far! AMEN
Definitely more than electricians but at least behind an elevator mechanic. They do some serious work in insane environments.
This video must be satire! lol xD
Gas pipe and plumber work
Most Refrigeration techs can do a Plumbers job, no way a Plumber will be working on Walk-In Freezer or Residential AC
Haha the trade wars are on!
Bring it! 🤣
Electrical is the best
oh no...
A bonus reason is that the ladies are into plumbers more than HVAC guys, especially when it comes to our plumbing jokes ;)
You forgot to add one to the list. Chicks dig plumbers. Sorry HVAC guys.
True! That should be #1
HVAC techs are basically upgraded plumbers.......
I think you mean higher level plumbers
Lol
Based
on facts😅
This video has to be a joke, man
What's a joke? 😅
Oh please. Stop lying. Plumbers are the bottom of the barrel tradesmen. 😂😂😂
I'd say roofers are bottom of the barrel... with plumbers straddling their backs for 2nd worst trade 🤣
Roofers and painters are respectfully.
@C1K450 well yea. I missed that trade. 😆 🤣 😂 1 Hvac techs, 2 electricians, and 3 plumbers. Then the rest. 😆 🤣 😆
You're just saying that because you can't do it!
You're livin upside down brother...😂 plumbers protect the health of the nation
3/4 the points in the video are are fluff material… hard to find reasons to hate the hvac guy 🤣
Don't you dare hahaha
Pull ya head in bud. Dont need brains to be a plumber and how do you think freezer/coolrooms are cooled?
HVAC = no turds !!
New Construction = no turds
Ain't nothing dumber than a plumber. I mean really, you guys play with turds!
Not in new construction!
Who wants to be a turd pusher? HVAC all the way!
You can be a GLORIFED turd pusher if you want to do service, or you can do new construction and not have to deal with that...plumbers win either way💪
@@RogerWakefield You keep your master plumbers License I’ll keep my International Master HVAC License! I’m glad you like Plumbing it’s super important. Just wash your hands before you eat lunch.
You just lost a subscriber. You’ll probably lose a lot more , bye Roger !!!!
I guess you didn’t catch the satire..sorry to see you go 👋
🙄
YOU KIND OF LOOK LIKE JOEL MCHALE 😜
never heard that before...we thinking of the same guy?
