I can't afford classes for hooping so I'm teaching myself with your videos! Some other beautiful hoppers on RUclips have tutorials I follow as well but you explain everything so well! Much love to you❤️
I am so glad you posted this tutorial! This is something that I have not been able to figure out at all. AND you have Lisa Lottie helping us learn! My two main hoopspiration ladies in one tutorial, doesn't get any better.
Hi!!! Really helpful tip for anyone struggling to do this move, focus a lot more on the rotation of your whole, especially upper, arm. Keep the hoop closer to your wrist using that strength rather than fingertips. If you want a video with more info I’ll send you one :) happy hooping!!!
So I've been practicing this for months. And I finally got it a few days ago. It takes tons of practice, but so worth it! Thank you, Lisa & Deanne for this tutorial! :)
I'm so happy you created this tutorial on one handed helicopter spin! I loved this trick since the moment I saw it and have been trying to learn it but wasn't able to find a tutorial on it until now! Yay! Thanks a lot for all the sharing! This speaks volumes about your humility. You have ALL STARS with me!!
One of lisa lottie's videos is what did it for me, I think it literally gave me all of my inspiration to practice everyday. haha Deanna, have you gotten this move down yet? I don't think I've been spinning with it enough. hmmmm
Move your body--> into the direction of the hoop. depth of the trick: keep practising until it works, it's a tough move, you will only learn it if you have the commitment and passion to want to do it. Watch, repeat, drop, try again. That is how it works. it isn't rocket science but you won't get it overnight. if that doesn't work for you, maybe try a different trick.
Quick question. Do you use your left hand because you are left-handed? And does it really matter which hand you use in regards to which direction you are spinning?
i just imagine how Lisa @3:20 is like: ok, that's it, Video-lesson is over and after stopping the camera Deanne is like: Well........... maybe we shoot some close-up, cause otherwise people won't get it how it works ;D
definitely gripping, but only for a split second! while you grip you twist your hand as far as you can like you are twisting a doorknob, then you let go last second, twist your hand back into the original position where the hoop will be ready for you to catch it again to repeat. make sense? x
Lisa Lottie Yes, awesome! And I had a chance to practice it on Sunday! Yayy! It's getting there--I have the main concept down, now I just need to keep at it 'til I get it! Thank you so much for taking time to make a tutorial and for sharing this sweet trick with the rest of the hooping world!
aha! Using the same hand as the direction i'm going is the secret! Looks like it requires a lot of speed. I can make it flip once or twice before it goes into a regular vertical spin..:-/
I like Lisa better as a performer than a teacher. She does not go into depth to explain how a move works or how to even move your body, for that matter.
So the hoop always flys out of my hand if i bring the hoop up even a little. I've tried spinning the hoop faster and my body slower, but i dont think that's the problem.. Anyone have any tips at all? :(

Nice !!!!
super cool great LISA LOTTIE
Thanks for this! I almost (ALMOST!!!) got it. :)
Is this possible to do with a very light polypro? I find helicopters quite hard with smaller lighter hoops because they just fly off 😂
absolutely!

When you do that move, are you actually gripping the hoop with your hand for a split second? Or is it in a continuous spin around your hand?

Is it possible to play it with two hoops in two hands ?
Please tell me where you got your hoop! It's so thin!
