Did you play Star Wars Outlaws? Was it GOOD for you?
I'm still playing through the game but I love it so far! I definitely think more effort could have been put into the stealth system to make it more engaging and there are a few things (not being able to get new weapons) I would change if I could, but overall it's a solid 7/10 experience for me.
Nope. I do not plan to either. Another thought that bugs me. If Beyond Good & Evil 2 was ever released, and it was in this state. I would be heartbroken
Honestly, I love outlaws I played it completely through and loved it but I will say I had 5 crashes and got stuck a couple times because of glitches but I kinda knew what I was going into! Nevertheless I did throughly like the game and the story and will be buying the dlc!
I played it right until one of the early stealth missions, which was not fun. And I have not touched it since - I simply cannot find the motivation in me to return back to it.

Ubisoft should get comfortable with the gamers not owning their games
Everyone talking positively about Ubisoft brings up games released 10+ years ago. That right there is the problem!
Triple AAA is just completely out of touch. Remember, Phil Spencer’s response to the awful Redfall launch was: “We didn’t expect this, our internal review process had it as a 8/10 game”.

Ubisoft got lazy. They just use the same template for every game and put zero effort into making it unique or interesting.
I hope EA is next. Also Sony. AAA games nowadays are mostly soul less, assembly line, cookie cutter, cash grabs. Nintendo is the only big game company who I still trust.

Ubisoft wants Quad A money for piss poor quality games and outdated gameplay mechanics or lack of mechanics its so lame. Instead of focusing on how they can fix their mess they blame us for not wanting it. I hope people continue to show them what they want with their wallets.

As a person that used to be a HUGE star wars fan, star wars doesn't really mean that much anymore. People are burnt out, the content be produced is usually subpar, and the discourse is toxic nowadays. It just doesn't bring joy to think or talk about anymore, it really hurts to care so I don't. So I think this whole thing of "oh its star wars its expected to do well' is super outdated now.

Biggest difference between Outlaws and Cyberpunk is that CP was not good on the technical side. A buggy hot mess with poor AI NPCs. Gameplay was what you expected and was good. Now it's even better. Outlaws is just a bit bland. Not a horrible game just not a 9/10 amd more of a 7/10 which again isnt bad but won't sell what it needs to sell to be profitable.
Ubislop is such a mess these days, it would require a miracle for them to avoid chapter 11.

The last Ubisoft game that was actually fun was Immortals Fenyx Rising, and that was basically a BOTW clone. So that tells me that they do actually do market research, they know what people like, and yet they still choose to churn out these bland snooze fests 90% of the time.
Star Wars is not the insta buy IP that it was 20 years ago. Disney milked it with mediocrity, and the brand has suffered for it.
But they aren’t the reason it’s bad. They have 3.5 good movies/tv shows imo. The first 3 movies 4,5,6 and the second half of episode 3. I literally liked nothing else Star Wars ever done and that includes video games. If I ever like a Star Wars game it’s not cause it’s Star Wars

It’s failing because Ubisoft cut out the PC gaming community by locking it down to Ubisoft+, excluding the major Steam storefront.
The main problem here with ubisoft is that they always work with multiple games and every year they launch game without taking some time.they should work for only 1 game. should work hard in that game and take 4 yrs to develop getting some more ideas of how to devlop it.these way ubisoft can nail.

I'm just so confused by the narratives from these game creators. They claim to have made an amazing game for gamers, but when the gamers don't like it, it's somehow their fault? That makes no sense to me. It's sad that TV and video game creation has become pandering, but they're pandering to an audience that doesn't even consume their product. I never once cared that I played as a female in Horizon games, yet they claim that's the main reason people are upset about the new Star Wars or Assassin's Creed games. Here's how I see it: most of the girls I dated enjoy what I call "trash TV" (The Bachelor, Love is Blind, Love at First Sight, etc.), but if those companies suddenly said, "Oh, these shows are no longer for that audience but for straight men instead," it would make zero sense because that's not who consumes those shows! They're making these games with a message, but we don't care about the message; we just want an engaging and fun video game.

it's so disingenuous to say people hated the game just because you play as a female, it didn't do poor sales because the main character was female, last of us has a female main, tomb raider, Metroid and those games sell well. It's because the game is just horribly written and full of bugs also why make your main character hideous on purpose? I'm considered ugly by appearance in real life I don't want to play as someone I find unappealing. If that makes me Shallow for saying what everyone else is thinking, then that's ok.

I preordered Outlaws but haven't had a chance to play it yet as moved house at beginning of Sept and the gaming room isn’t sorted yet.
I think im quite relaxed with games generally so I don't see or realise alot of the complaints about games. I'll check it out and see how it is.

Let's look at modern day Ubisoft games:
1. Skull and Bones (Quadruple A) - Terrible, tedious and grindy, minimal effort and incredibly long development time. Seems like the game was pushed out because Ubisoft couldn't just cancel it.
2. Star Wars Outlaws - Disappointment, not terrible but not good.
3. Assassin's Creed Shadows - Likely disappointment, also bad dev response to Japanese criticism. Looks very generic.
4. Division 2 - Average. Not terrible but worse than the first game.
Definitely a bad direction they're going.. Bethesda isn't much better lately either.
1. Fallout 76 - Jesus christ, bad. It has improved, yes, due to the surprise success of the TV series, but it still is a bad game.
2. Starfield - My God, huge disappointment and just trash. If I had to pick between Starfield or Star Wars Outlaws, it would easily be Outlaws. Starfield is trash.
They are going to win a lot of awards this year for Prince of Persia lost crown 😊
Great take , Wood! Yeah, I’m the same I don’t care what the motivations of the developer was to make a specific game, I just care if it’s fun to play and tells a good story. We live in a weird age of paranoia where people are way overthinking video games. I really appreciate your rational perspective on this.

Never really was a Ubisoft fan, and im proud to continue not being a fan for the future to come!
Do yourself a favour and play cyberpunk!! Its one of the best games of all time after the fixes and phantom Liberty DLC 😊. 10/10

Had no problems at all. 99 plus hours. Other than the short main story and 200 side missions with reins and repeat gameplay, I enjoyed it. Still better than the tv shows.
Outside of the recent Prince of Persia I can't recall the last time I played a Ubisoft game and enjoyed it. At this point all I want from Ubisoft are 3 things.
1: 2 more Prince of Persia games in the style of the last 1.
2: Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake.
3: Beyond Good and Evil 2.
But with how Ubisoft is today I highly doubt they're even capable of making Beyond Good and Evil 2 or the Sands of Time remake without messing it up.
AC shadows will be their next flop, a grave they dig for themselves

Nintendo didn't delay a game that's set to release in two months. But ubisoft did AC shadows was supposed to release in November and they postponed it

More so the circumstances around Assassin’s creed’s delay was weird. That games had booths at Tokyo game show where you could play it but Ubisoft dropped out last second and delayed it. This isn’t the same circumstances as Nintendo delaying a game

I think AC Valhalla was only the 2nd AC game with their big open world quest mark littered map and now ppl are truly tired of it and wanting something new.

I passed on this game bc they did the face model dirty by making the her character hideous. Also, it’s Ubisoft. I wait for all the bugs to air out after 5 years of patches. By that time the game will be $10 😌
I hated most of my time in the game. I put it on Easy too.
I played about 3 hours. Most of the game was sneaking around. As soon as you're seen, 15 enemies are on you right away and you have to restart.
I get around like 8 enemies and then I have no idea where to go. I kept getting caught. I looked at a walkthrough and it turns out I was supposed to climb up a black wall. How was I supposed to know that? I think the wall was supposed to glow to tell me that I can climb it. That was a waste of like 1 1/2 hrs.
I climbed onto a roof via a ladder, get seen, then I'm stuck on the rooftop because all of a sudden I cannot "use" anything. So, I can't climb back down the ladder. The roof is completely open. 5 enemies show up, I kill them, 5more show up, I kill them, and more show up. I can't climb down to run away and hide. If I jump down then I'll die.
I found a stormtrooper building with like 6 enemies. If I run in and shoot 10 more will show up. It was too frustrating and time consuming to kill them. They were all in groups. There was no killing 1 by 1.
Im so confused as to how they expect me to play this game. Even on Easy, it was just so frustrating to me.
Its a real shame both of the "first open world star wars games" (lego star wars skywalker saga and star wars outlaws) have beautiful *looking* worlds faithful to star wars but the gameplay being mid. Still annoyed that one boba fett game got cancelled years ago
I haven't played and by no means am an Ubisoft fan but the things you are upset about here are basically describing Eastward and you loved that. My god the dialogue of that game killed me.
I really liked the new prince of Persia. Not sure if I’m a minority there. I haven’t been gaming in a few years and came back to breathe of the wild and tears. Been having a blast and have so many games to catch up on.
You would think by now they would just learn to finish the game instead of releasing something that will bomb. A bomb is a financial disaster (Concord), make better games.

Some of the comments that come from the top at Ubisoft I find out of order, releasing unfinished broken games and pushing them out the door is also part of their problem. I honestly like StarWars Outlaws. Maybe it's because I didn't actually pay flat out for it since I have Ubisoft Plus or whatever on PC, but I've had some fun with it. I just wished they wouldn't have done the always-on ray tracing so I can play it on a handheld. I feel like it takes a way more powerful system than necessary to run the damn game.
It seems to me that Ubisoft is confused with what it is trying to deliver. With the amount of dialogue, in outlaws it ventures into ‘is this an actual game or is it just animated video’ they seem to be at odds with themselves and look like they rather want to make a TV show rather than game.
Star wars outlaws had 2 really good characters Nix and ND-5. You even got to play Sabacc with Lando Calrissia and the ship combat was better than Starfield.
Wood if you haven't tried AC Origins I super highly recommend it!
Bowsers fury is the best Mario game and Nintendo desperately needs to make something else with that style but four times the length!!!!!

Hey Woods! Great new channel! Hey man, I just wanted to say thanks for the ancient Nintendo video you posted lol . The one where you explain where Nintendo dropped you from the ambassador program. I was recently denied after them telling me for the past 5 years to come back at a higher subscriber rate. I pushed myself so hard being a legally blind man, just for them to contact me to tell me, Hey sorry your logo violates Nintendo laws we can accept you. A little power-up star on my logo. I have since then removed it. Your video helped me get some closure on the matter.
I might pick up star wars outlaws on sale one day but it definitely didn't impress me at launch especially the way people were saying it seemed like they barely used the star wars licence
I may play it when the price drops to 20€ like all the other Ubisoft games did.

Ubisoft makes the most vapid 7/10 games, and when this was announced that’s exactly what I expected and that seems to be exactly what they gave us. I want to play it cuz it’s Star Wars and I love the universe and have always wanted an open world in it, but I just know it’s gonna be filled with the usual Ubisoft chores list. Waiting for it to go on sale below $40 lol.
I haven’t played this game and Avatar but I’m waiting for Black Friday to get them. They look interesting to me. This also give them time to patch it up. I seldom buy new games on day one , I tend to buy them when there on sale
Outlaws always seemed like a 3rd party or off brand star wars game to me. So not worth buying really

I probably will pick SW:O up. When it's on sale. Ubisoft games always get decent markdowns after 6mo-1yr. More bugs should also be ironed out by then. AND I can probably buy it on Steam. For a single player game like this gamers are better off not playing day 1

I played Outlaws, and I had fun with it. I think they did a good job with making it Star Wars.
There are two annoying bugs that I submitted to Ubisoft: one quest was blocked by an impassable barrier, and another completed quest's dialogue re-plays every time Kay goes to her ship. I hope they fix the bugs soon, and if they do, I will play it a bit more.
I don't know if you even played a retail version of the game man. You say that the space experience is on rails-IT ISN'T. I am sick of seeing so many RUclipsrs shi$& on this game, saying that it's full of bugs, B.S., I'm playing on PS5 and I believe I've had one bug and one crash. For a game of this scale, out of the game that's great. Some of the best experience is raiding the Empire bases, the John Williams music playing in the background adds tension to the objective of get in/get out in one piece.
I played and beat the game and oh my it’s a bad game imo and not cause of bugs I didn’t have any of that. Its just a bad game imo

Like you the things said about the girl I just do not care if the game is fun that is all that matters. Also like some of Ubisoft other games Assassin's Creed Black flag also liked Orgin it got a little grindy but still a good game. all Rayman, Mario and Rabbids 1 were good also liked Immortals Fenyx Rising and Prince of Persia. Hope they can move on from this and maybe fix it like 2077 but it sounds like the core game is boring hard to come back from that. As always great video.
Cyberpunk was always fine on PS5/PC. The shitshow that were the previous gen versions overshadowed the game itself, they should not have released those at launch.
It was so bad on release, I remember Gamespot did full coverage. Everything was broken. Other media tried not to mark it down for performance, but Gamespot did not give a review score. They felt it was a nightmare, and that is a rating no developer or publisher wants to see.
Going by media, Gamespot was almost dropped from receiving future codes or copies of playing the developers games in the future

I've been trying to play this game for the past week on my PS5. It derserve all the hate it's getting. The game is just a buggy mess. The gameplay is mid at best. Gun mechanics are boring. Stealth is horrible. It's bad when you can't get through a full story mission going from point a to b because the game will freeze or the locaiton you are supposed to reach bugs out and you can complete the checkpoint. I have to constantly close the app and re open it to continue the game. How do immerse myself in something like this?

4:40 That's why I stopped liking Ubisoft after Farcry 5 and Starlink. I even bought the Valhalla PS5 bluray, but never played it.
I played Avatar for a few hours and really tried to like it, but it's like the rest of the latest Ubishit games: it has an annoying and lackluster story, the map becomes overloaded with the typical Ubisoft crap, everything gets repetitive. I'm done with that crap studio. They don't know how to make good games anymore.

Everyone thinks the same as you, if the game is good no one cares what the main character is, the problem is that when merit is seen as a discriminatory concept, you end up will a lot of incompetence in the games production. Also If developers keep trying to make up for lack of quality with virtue signaling, then people complain
