CarAudioFabrication - The Secrets of Car Audio Revealed
You asked for comments, so PLEASE take this as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I LOVE these doors and the designs. I don't care for the suede, but the vinyl looks really great. I also love the look of the mid-range, but the tweeter looks cheap for such an amazing, custom application. Thanks for your continuing motivation for custom installs!
After watching these last vids i am not afraid to try this on my car. A lot simpler than i thought they where.
All the natural tones look sweet, and I agree with taking your time it really makes a differance!
This is by far the best channel that I have found for DIY you rock Sir!!!!
Love the design, especially how you made them look as factory you much you can, but still have some unique look.
I'm building a Factory 5-33 Hot Rod.... VERY tight quarters for adding audio. Just this series alone has helped me think through some real issues I'm facing. You can bet I will be scouring your site for more info. JUST GREAT... Thank you!!!!
Nick
This videos have been what i was looking for clearly explained. Now i'm ready to try and make my door pods Thanks for the videos can't wait to see how you mount the panel
Hey great job! I am finishing my Lambo Diablo dash door panels and console. We got shut down by Audi for manufacturing Replicas and this was a huge help. My upholstery guy died in the middle of the last car so this has been good fortune to find your video sir!
Black suede sets it off love the design. Contrast of colors is nice. Love the reverse mounting technique.
I don't like the design of the panels all too much, but you did a great job, they're very well built and your videos are by far the most helpfull ones on youtube.
Im a manager for Audio Express. After watching all your fg door pod videos, my install crew turned out a pod build that will set us apart from all the 10k local shops we have here. My client $#!& in his pants when I demoed the car. He said this was the most perfected job he ever got. Thanks for all your time and detail you put into all your videos. With comments I got today, Im a very happy Mgr. Thanks
very informative and educational. i have a '93 civic with some door panel "issues" and your videos have really motivated me to build my own custom inserts and panels. Thanks very much!
I have been loving the videos, I have redesigned mine 3 times and have just stopped till I have seen your finished product. Love them gives me a much better Idea for my 03 F150 Keep them coming. Nice Nice lay out looks even better than I was imagining.
Mark, I'm an installer at a shop and I've never had any formal training on fiberglassing techniques. Long story short, we don't have anyone at the shop that's good at fiberglass work and by following your videos closely, I've successfully been able to complete fiberglass projects at my shop. My shop has tools I don't personally own, such as the router table, and just that one step alone has helped me take my installs to the next leve. Thank you for your dedication and your knowledge. Cheers!
Watched the series, you have given me the confidence to take the next step in my customization of my 2013 RAM1500 thank you. I will refer to you videos to complete my door panels.
yes i think i will try to finish the door pod. i had started to make but i did not no where to go with them but now i do. i have watch all of the door pod vid that you have put up. I now no where to go with them thanks to you.
ps: you are a very big help with car audio ideas and techniques thank you for all the help you have gave out to us
I'm actually an upholstery guy and I've been watching your new videos for a while now and I just started watching the older ones to see what I've missed and they're very informative as well!
That looks really nice I just finished wrapping my box and side pieces. I would have never done that till I saw your videos
These look great. I have a love/hate relationship with these door pillar speakers I'm working on, and I've picked up a lot of construction tips on this entire series.
im saving up for a router table, sucks being a poor college student. watched most of your videos multiple times, so im ready when its time to go
Bro, door pods are so classy, like luxury style!
thanks for giving me a better under standing on just what goes in to custom work. i can now appricate custom installs more now as it allows me to see just how much work goes into sum cars. thank you very much
Your so talented and I am always amazed at your final fabrication projects overall quality n visual appeal. I’m inspired to start my interior project with full custom car stereo installation. I’ve been building and customizing every vehicle I’ve owned since I was 15 years old. Each one gets better and cleaner every time. But I’ve never stepped up my game to include the interior and electrical until I found your channel. I’m hooked and you’ve got my support here on out Mr Mark!
o m g ! this is completly awsome... wanted to go to sleep several hours ago but i had to watch every howto video since the start of your amp rack... cant believe it :D thx a lot for your effort.
So far all your vidz are very informing and easy to follow. And I love your work very neat and professional!
Your door pods look great. Very basic but pop all at the same time.
Those are some sexy door pods. I wish i was half that skilled in fabricating .
I'm truly inspired by your work. I especially got fired up when you did your dad's car. Him and I are around the same age. So I thought why not. I've a couple questions. I would love to get opinion on my build plan. You are truly a professional. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and skills.
Excellent 6th video in the series. I have watched all of your door panels pods video and I have got a lot out of em .
I know this video is old but I just started watching your channel a couple years ago and I have to say, AMAZING JOB! They look so clean and really look like they belong and not a funky custom crap job
There is a lot I could have done differently on this. Been learning over the years!
Man every time I watch the videos on the pods I change my mind on how I want mine to look. Thanks again for this great vids I wouldn't have any idea on how to even being to start without them. Keep them coming.
Takes a lot of time, but the finish is so FANTASTIC!
Just saying, that with your tutorials I am now very confident that ill be able to make door pods in my s10. Thanks for that.
Been watching all the videos on this building of the speaker pods and mount, glad i found it as just got my door panels off to start some builds on my car, excellent channel and i will be watching thanks and great work.
I think they look amazing, it's because of these videos that you do that I've purchased some equipment and actually made a set of component rings for the first time. I even had to chuckle a little bit when re-watching these videos because I realized I also purchased the same set of components you're using in the videos.
I have not posted it there yet. Ill have to do so soon, good to see you guys are missing me! ;) Thanks for watching!
I think that they are very beautiful and professional. I watched all the videos all the way through, and the steps were very understandable, and your door pods were amazing.
Thank you! Appreciate you watching!
I've been doing fabrication for about 8 years now. I do most of my work on Trackor rigs, and 1 ton trucks. I got to hand it to you, you did a pretty good job. This job makes you look like a pro. Nice clean edges, no crinkles. Man this is a nice job. I might have you do my truck since I don't have the time.
man you are truely skilled. you may not have a shop but you definitely should. especially since you have over 15,000 of us following you on here. i know most of us would be coming to your shop if you had one.
Man, your videos are so gnarly it's insane.
Man that looks really good can't wait until I get to that level of work
you have been a lot of help , my boys door pods are gonna look a lot better now TY
Thank you, I do my best to make them easy to follow, and to show products that the average DIY’er can afford. Thanks for viewing and the rates and comments, I see on your channel you watch a lot of my videos, thanks man!
im going to try to make door pods for my ranger with 3 way components. thanks Mark for taking your time to make these videos.
Mark these have turned out better than I expected! And trust me, I expected them to be amazing. Keep up the good work my friend, I learn a ton with each video you make. One day ion my next build ill be using all the techniques you've shown us throughout the series. Have a good one bro, cheers!
loved it! i didn't care for the speakers that where used just the design of them. i know they sound good though. i love all the work you put into these videos. your awesome! keep up the hard work!
Well done! This video is now 6 years old. It's very interesting to see how your work has evolved over the years and the quality has improved. But the quality was very good in 2013. It is several degrees better now in 2019.
Thanks for the positivity! Doing my best to keep improving and sharing what I learn.
Honestly one of the coolest speaker instals i have ever seen. can't wait to see more videos!
it has been making me want to work on my car more like ur builds
I really like the descriptions and how you explain each step.
Your videos help me alot, perfect looking door panels when im done with mine im going to send you some pictures, thanks for your videos they relly help alot
You sir are a good man. Keep that up. I learn something every video. The tips are great because they come from experience which most of us lack, and don't have the time or money to gain. So good job man. Also you'll have to let us know how those speakers sound (Type R's?)
The door pods came out fantastic. I wish I didn't have to work 12 hours a day so I could actually use some of this knowledge. I really can't wait to use some of this on my YJ. I want to make a pair of custom fiberglass speaker pods for a roll bar.
Those door pods are sweet, wish I coulda see this when I did my door panels.
This is quite possibly the best channel for custom car audio fab I have seen thus far!!! Keep'em comin!
Great vid! Couple suggestions....let people know to make sure they get the inside grooves well covered in glue so that the vinyl doesn't lift, also I would let people know that if they cut to much on their relief cuts then the cut could show from the front...only done a few cuz that's what I'm in school for but I have learned some what NOT to do's are...lol. Great vids, keep up the great work!!
That is a very key step!
They look great! And I will be doing door panels in the future and will be using your videos to help me do them.
amazing, I cant wait to get started on mine. Just got to get mum's car all fixed then can move on to my car
dude you are hella good, i hope to be like you one day with my truck
Hey Mark thanks for the grate learning curve.
It learning me alot as I'm already started on my ranger door panels a few months back I builded my own router table just to do all of your stencils ideas so that I can get my door panels and my sub inclusions done thanks 👍
Thanks Mark, for showing us how its done. I have realy learned a lot in your videos.
Mark, I want to give you big thanks. I've been doing car audio as a hobby for almost 20 years and now I'm getting a little more serious about it. I am a cabinet builder and trim carpenter by trade. Thinking about opening a fabrication shop but I'm doing my truck first... It's a f350 diesel. Just started wiring and building a amp rack this past weekend. Getting really excited, but also want to take my time and do it perfect... To wrap things up... Big thanks to your videos they are really giving me those "tricks to the trade" that I needed to sharpen my skills.
THANKS
JFLEX
Clean, understated. Detail touches enhancing the factory appearance without being gaudy. I like it. A lot.
For lack of better words thank you. Youve helped me with so much fabrication. I follow all your vids and look forward to more. Ya da man. Keep do watcha doin. And also the door pods are lookin great. Thanks for the vids. Ya da man!
Great work, you made it look easy. Now I am overconfident enough to go nuts and make a custom panel for my Ford Excursion.
YOU DO VERY CLEAN INSTALLS AND FABRICATIONS.
THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS...
I never said I could, but then again, if I would design something, I would automatically like it more because they would be made to fit my taste.
Even 6 years (nearly)on, your videos are excellent. Been trying to catch up with your work. All strength to you. Your workmanship is commendable. Ta, cheers, peter from Australia
Stretch, and heat. And 4 way stetch vinyl. From what I understand, thats the main points that make it do-able :)
I needed this vid Mark!!! 7 years later and a very helpful series. About to wrap mine once the A-pillar/dash pods are done. Waiting on chop mat and SMD SunFlash!!!
those came out so sweet Mark. Love it. Makes me want to do some for my girls car since my are already fully fiberglass. Def need some help with the mounting aspect of them
Thats just artwork man. Ive been thinking about trying some custom work and this is by far the best tutorials online. Excellent work and thanks!
this is one aspect of car audio that intimidates me and I have yet to make a custom panel. Thanks for making this video.
What a great idea you’ve done such a great job and gotta tell you... you have made a huge success of your talent, so big thumbs up !!! But sharing this as you have is truly a gift you’re giving a lot of ppl who may have chosen this over bad life choices. Bravo!!!!
Those are some sexy pods, Mark! I have never attempted this type of fabrication but I thoroughly enjoy the lessons. Being able to see how this is done, step-by-step, is so cool. I also like that your videos are focused on the task at hand. The small jokes go a long way and are just right (like Magma, and the "materials needed" lists). Always looking forward to the next vid!
seriously you really explained to me how making custom door panel can be done easily if you TAKE UR TIME...thank you so much
Haha, stringin us along about how to mount them still. Stay tuned for next week," same bat time, same bat channel" Really though awesome videos and very inspiring. Can't wait till the pod series is done. I seriously want to do my 3rd Gen 4Runner door panels.
That door pod is off the chain.... Dayum.... Extremely next level.... #Great_Work
Really enjoying the whole process of door pods
Bud u do a great job!! You also make it look so easy but we no that u have years of experience thanks for sharing
I think your door pods came out crazy clean. You make it look easy, if took me a few days to complete a pair of pods from start to finish but they came out clean thanks to your videos
Great job as always have enjoyed watching your videos. Ive done a fair amount of car audio installs but have mostly invested my time on stealthy install would love to take the next step and do some fiberglass in my tacoma someday. Ty for your thorough videos.
Amazing pods, router techniques make these super simple
Good job . Keep it up. Very good demonstration on how to fabricate .
Very sharp. I wish I had the tools and the ability to do this on my stuff. I injured my back in 2008 and since then even the simplest of car audio tasks takes me forever. I sure enjoy watching ya work though, just makes me long for the days when I too could do things.
i think they look great and the process looks hard but with tutorials like these and alot of practice any1 can do it
Great series on door pods! Very intimidating, i shall give it a try in the coming few weeks. Thank You!
Awesome video. I am going to try this. I think i may wrap the insert in a speaker grille cloth to hide speakers though. The techniques covered here are great. Thanks for taking the time to cover this in detail. Best video out there.
Bad ass pods! Its 3am but your videos are preventing me from sleep! But I honestly don't mind. Thanks for the info!
Glad I kept you awake! Thanks for watching, tell your friends that love audio about my channel!
Trust me I have and I will! Feel free to follow me back on twitter!
Door panel came out great! Maybe some lessons on plexi/lexan in door pods or enclosures?
Welcome back again & again , I passed you on . Thanks All , Thanks be
I've watched all your videos including the door panel series and I have to say you do an amazing job with all the videos. You explain the steps very well and give me confidence to take up a project on my own. I've been sharing your videos and website to everyone I know that's into audio and fabrication and they all have nothing but great things to say. Thank you very much for sharing with us.... I'm Looking forward to learning more from you.....
Great job Mark. Your door panels look great.
I dig how you were able to create a well styled pod and still retain the factory look.
I learned a lot from this series as compared some of the others.
Really awesome job man. I was scared as heck trying to build pods for my 05 grand marquis but these video's have given me much confidence.
I see that you watched all the videos in this series! I am glad it helped! Put those skills to work and send me some pictures on facebook! facebook.com/caraudiofabrication
