That's how we ended up with dogs whose faces are so "cute" and scrunchy that they legit can't breathe, because their noses are too blunt. So they suffer from a form of asthma all their life and often suffocate to death. Animal breeding should not be encouraged, especially not for something as stupid as 'cuteness'.

@@Throwbacky2k not all are the same, obviously. But there are such things as industry standards and common practices. Some are better than average, some are worse.
But when there are real live animals in animal shelters (and strays) in need of adoption, why would you want to buy one, anyway? I'd in fact say the same thing when it comes to humans, adopt before spending millions on surrogacy and whatnot. But in the case of humans, it at least makes some sense that people would prefer to raise their biological children over the children of others (I don't agree with it personally, but I understand it). But with animals, it really makes no sense. Just go to a shelter and get an animal that actually needs your help, for free!
Of course, if you live in a place where there are no strays and animal shelters are rare, that would be different.
