Which of these megaprojects is the most interesting? Do you know similar projects?😌👇
I like the Memphis pyramid. I’ve been there a few times and it is so cool
Bro
@Top_Luxury 11:15 .... no, Kings Park in Perth, Western Australia is bigger at 400 hectares
If you believe the reason for not building it was property disputes with "locals" you are an idiot. Chinese people do own shit ... CCP if they want to can take any land for any reason and kick their residents on street if the do not burry them alive while demolishing their home anyway! What I see as a reason is that this park would bring piece of west into the China and that is a simple reason why not to build it.
Ryugyong Hotel, North Korea. Standing 330 meters high with 105 floors, this pyramid-shaped skyscraper was supposed to be a luxury hotel, but construction stopped in 1992 due to lack of funds. Since then, it has been periodically restarted and stopped again.
And to this day it's still standing empty. I believe the North Korean government put about 30% of its GDP into building it.
These videos are always so interesting! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! :)
I love the idea to change old airport into an entertainment park.
I love those people in the tower of david!
May God bless them all with better lives
I’ve been to the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid and it is awesome. If you are ever in Memphis, you definitely need to visit it
What's so good about it?
@@AA-hg5fk It's outdoorsman disney land
@@AA-hg5fkthe 8th wonder of the world
It’s a shame the building allowed commercial signage on it’s exterior. It’s a blight. The signage could have been keep at ground level. It ruins what could have been a landmark building.
@@Peeta-wn4hh You'd think Bass Pro Shops would be aware. Glad to see the building being successfully used, but the sign ruins the art of it.
Another great video and interesting stuff, I never knew these abandoned megaprojects without this amazing video, please make more video because this is amazing ❤
In my fictional world, all projects in this video already finished and successful
I love the idea to change old airport into an entertainment park.. Most of these places are no longer abandoned..
Man! This channel is so underrated. I hope it gets the attention it deserves.
thanks a lot!
100% agree
There is something evocative and affecting about these abandoned sites.
.
Great video, Always worth watching a upload by Top Luxury.
Thank you very much! 💛
Awesome video Mr. Luxury! I watch these when I’m high and they always hit the spot
I love how when he talks about the history of Berlin Tempelhof he doesn't mention its critical role in the Berlin airlift!
Same here...and it wouldn't have been that hard to do.
A Bass Pro Shop Pyramid lol!
Also, the base of that Wonderland Castle looks like a German flak tower from WW2.
Keep up the great work 💪 suggestion: the ellinikon park in Greece is a great idea for a video!
@Top Luxury, noticed this before but your narrator and choice of music don't miss. They complement each other very well. Love binging these videos.
Thanks a lot 😍
@@MegaBuildsYT I love architecture and engineering feats so these videos scratch my itch.
Most of these places are no longer abandoned.
How do you know?
@@YassJuni....simple research
@@_DodgerTVBECAUSE HE IS LIVING THERE MUAHAHAHA
Never said they were still abandoned, but they were ar one point for a long time
He literally tells you in the video what happens to all these places? Also clearly states abandoned mega projects meaning the initial purpose/project for the structure is no more. 🤡
As a venezuelan, allow me a small correction. The strong syllable in Caracas is the second one, not the last one. It's pronounced ca-RA-cas, not cara-CAS.
Thank you for adding something of value to this comment section instead of just "muuh you pronounced my place wrong". I did it wrong before, now I know better.
Phew I've been doing it right
@@friddevonfrankenstein shush

glad I read the comments, heard it and assumed I was the one saying it wrong. 😅
Так це моє особисте життя..а КОХАНИЙ 🎉тільки доповнення для нас
That story in Venezuela is incredible ….it shows you how just resourceful people can be if they had ….resources, and not necessarily money.
I would like to make a correction, Tempelholfer wasn’t the only airport during the Berlin Airlift, Tegel was also used towards the end of the airlift.
Fun fact: Tegel had the longest runway in Europe when it finished construction.
Tempelholfer?
Fun Fact: The Berlin Airlift is not mentioned in this video. That means you're correcting something that wasn't wrong in the first place.
You could also add the Khazar Islands. It's abandoned megaproject and artificial islands in south of Baku, Azerbaijan consisting of 41 islands extending 3,000 hectares into the Caspian Sea.
The Memphis Pyramid had a rocky history but seems to have ended up a success story in the end-although being a massive Bass Pro Shop hardly matches the grand inspiration behind the original conception of the project.

Hello i just founded your Channel and these videos seems Awesome and interesting. I've heared about that Japan abandoned Hashima island, its so mystic and interesting with full of mystery and History. I Am huge Japan fan and Japanese mysteries are truly amazing. Its sad The whole islands and Cities was Been abandoned after its long Life, i can see all The Japanese peoples and Their Life in that island. 🇯🇵
thank you!
0:30 North of "Wonderland Amusement Park" are also three interesting structures that seem to be abandoned (see Google Earth History): A large circular building, a large park area and some kind of small town city center recreation. There is a fourth structure further north that looks like a race track / urban town recreation (probably a training ground).
Love💛 your videos
❤
Hi
Wild 🔥
Great video, thanks 👍
Love your videos
Thank you very much! 💛
@@MegaBuildsYT Can't wait for more 👍🏻
You should include Mirabel airport in Canada in your future videos. A huge investment to serve the city of Montreal. Airport was closed 20 years after inauguration.
Interesting...
Love This Narrative
Am i the only one that feels activision took a large amount of inspiration from hashima island in warzone. The original warzone rebirth map, obviously its very different but key points of interest and the general shape make me feel they designed it while looking at a picture of hashima. Mainly the far points of the island. the tin building in the middle of an empty parking lot on one end, a tall building with a small extension on the back at the other. The hills and the buildings lining the coast. Id bet money they rebuilt and changed it for the game
nice video, me is like very much
Hence proved, infrastructure projects can sometimes be useless.
Maybe it's just me, but the non-abandoned Memphis pyramid doesn't seem to belong in a list of abandoned projects - since it's.... y'know.... not abandoned.
Moral of the story : Bigger is not always better
Not going to mention the fact that Hashima Island was used as a filming location for the movie Skyfall?
Why does hashima island remind me or alcatraz?
The pyramid in Memphis TN shouldn't be on the list since it's no longer abandoned.
It was for a long time, though, and its original purpose was scrapped.
background music is a vibe! is there a tracklist/artist?
the music is from epidemicsound, but its not one list or artist only.
I love how he says we and our meanwhile some guy in his basement
8:18 our first UFO sighting!
love the video
this made my day
Thank you so much! 😄
Talking about the airport, I thought you were on about the one that got built but never opened that was featured in _Captain America: Civil War._
Love your content.. can I get a hola
Never heard of Karakas.
It would be nice if you researched the pronunciation of the locations and terms used.
The Memphis Pyramid even became a regular visit from Dude Perfect.
love the content of all of your videos.
please, turn down the background music.
Well I am actually surprised that the movie Skyfall isn´t mentioned in the bit with Hashima Island.
here I wait for the Line to be abandon so that it's going to be in one of these type of video again
The clash of clans ad. was 🔥
I like how the banner in the video calls the channel "Top Luxury" and neither word is in the channel's name.
This is why REGULATIONS are good.
I can't believe that the Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea didn't make the list. Its story is pretty interesting in itself.
If you ask me, Places like Hashima Island hsa to be preserved, if we ignore all evil, evil will grow, its important to remember what road lead where.
its crazy the idea of a homeless infested abandoned skyscraper in the middle of a metropolis
It's a great metaphor for the world's economic situation, huh?
@@DeflatorMouse Not really because it's in Venuzuela.
fun fact hashima island was used to film 007 james bond: skyfall
Thanks. I was looking to confirm that too.
Growing up in Memphis, I remember seeing Power Rangers Live in the Pyramid. If I recall the pyramid itself is sinking very slowly due to the river bluff, which is why the amusement park could never exist there.
Thanks, I had no idea there was a pyramid in Tennessee.
Why is the pyramid on this list? Not to mention it was the longest segment.
I guess this video is about places that were abandoned for a time? A little misleading, yes.
Misubishi should have repurposed Hashima Island as a Holiday Camp !
Great video. But you mispronounce Caracas.
Yeah, I know it shouldn't, but it bugged me to no end lol
...and Tempelhof, and Tegel, and...who cares?
Big deal. Everyone outside Venezuela pronounces it wrong.
One commenter further up at least gave the correct pronunciation for us to learn instead of just yelling muuuhh, wrong!
@@friddevonfrankensteinAmerican
is dubai creek tower abandoned?
Alcatraz!!!
Hashima Island, is probably better known by the name Gunkanjima, which means battleship island due to its resemblance to one at certain angles. Supposedly it was torpedoed by a US submarine in World War 2 because of the way it looked,
Мої досягнення це мої досягнення
I really wish all buildings and construction sites that have been abandoned for more than a decade, must be either sold to someone who is then held accountable to do something with the property, or simply demolished to make way for nature.
How you gonna leave out the Hashima island was in 007 🤦🏻♂️
Let's see, maybe it didn't fit in between the coal mining and POWs and it's a 15min with five places video for pete's sake.
Also, nobody cares.
Fact check… Tempelhof Airport Berlin 3,55km2 - Phoenix Park Dublin 7.07km2
Literally double the size. 11:22
А мій коханий Гамдан Аль Мактум.

Well I achually can’t believe I’ve been to a place that mike Tyson has been to the Memphis pyramid! It was so funn! And it was so huge like crazy huge and the top balcony was scary very scary it had a lot trust me!
Any construction worker in any trade could tell you why these types of things happen, once the decay starts it cannot be reestablished.
Can I please get a hi
Hi 😊
Add the line in a few years
The movement of the homeless in Venezuela sounds like it went on without any issues or death. Sure. Like the purpose of the Japan work island...
So the pyramid in Memphis isn't abandoned after all, is it?
Love the channel content but due to the high production quality, simple pronunciation errors really stand out...notably, Caracas is pronounced Ka-raw-kaass.
Otherwise, this is a really good channel. Thanks!
How come you don't mention Malaysia's Forest City?
I've been to many of these places with Google maps
what if hashima island rebuild and turn modern like singapore
Yo
0:20 5000 squatters?
6:26: And it’s even an internet meme.
Tell me you like to say “Berlin Temploff” without telling me you like to say Berlin Temploff.
All the junkies and homeless people. That are in Oakland and in Los Angeles. You should put them here.
Мої ідеї..використання вам всім
this is basically just bad planning in a nutshell
Its just missing 39Seconds
How are these places abandoned when they mostly all are officially open tourist sites or actually a neighborhood on land for the first one with a castle behind it (forgot to mention what it is today).
Реклама це така ситуація, що ви робите проти нас
Amazing how new construction in the new China only lasts 10 years.
You forgot the hotel in pyongyang north korea
That poor beautiful pyramid, ruined with tacky signage.
