Kind of an underrated video. This is some solid information. Vampire COunts is in my top 3 factions and I love playing them the most probably because of their factions mechanics. Like, raising a FULL ARMY 20 Stack basicly from THIN air/dirt in 1 turn on a battlefield...... Bruh......thats amazing.
Tried too get into this game about a year and a half ago and i was just having a super hard time (because the first faction i choose too play was nurgle huge mistake) but i came back too it a few weeks ago, i found youre skaven guide and have been playing them in immortal empires you really helped me grasp the game and the idea of how too play i really appreciate these guides thank you so much im thinking i wanna play the counts or the chaos dwarves next
Love your content since it's been helping me out quite abit with how detailed it is an how quick your doing them. Watching this video to deal with vampires easier
Great Video, this will for sure be helpful to me. Might check out your other faction guides aswell, once I start with those factions. If those videos are equally good as this one, they will for sure make for an entertaining and helpful watch. Keep it up
Omgosh, thank you! I have been looking for a guide that isn't JUST about battles... I get so hung up on what to do during the over map stage. Thank you.
@@LordForwind yeah me and my mate are doing a co-op campaign. I picked the counts because I've never played them, so I've been struggling with the dwarves and this has actually helped. Now just to kill ungrim and I can help my green skin friend
I always like to have a sack city to level up Vlad for the empire relations skill line. Next, I have Gelt as my vassal and I got me some hell rocket batteries with my skeletons
Watched your vid on dark elves and lizardmen. For this one I went outa my way to see if you did one for vampires. Thanks for all the organized info man. Earned yourself a sub.
Fel bats are good for taking out flying empire lords too...had a group of fel bats swarm karl franz and murder him, only had to heal them twice too, mind you it was early on but he was on his griphon tho so i guess he dosent have much aoe in the air then with his huge hitbox alll the bats were pummeling him at once....was sooo funny he died to one bat group xD (fyi it did take a while lol)
Bats have ridiculously high base melee defense. So if you can swarm a unit in the air they can chip them down overtime if they dont get some kind of range or magic support. Bats also upgrade extremely well. The von carstein bloodline lords can get free upkeep bats though not as crazy as with Isabella. On the bats in her army with her unique yellow line skills and red line combined with the 3 bat techs in the tree they have a crazy stat line at level 7(1 gold chevron) 156 speed 50 leadership 20 armor 39 Attack 55 Defense 30 Charge 33 Damage(13AP) Also with the Hunger ability to heal in combat. Throw down an overcast vanhel's danse macabre and the bats hit mid 60s in Melee attack. Bats outside the Von carstein bloodline lords and Isabella are fairly mediocre, but I still think in the video, he wrote them off a little too easily. If anyone has never used them I definitely recommend using them in an isabella campaign. 8 vampire heroes with her beefy bats will dumpster almost everything they come across in a matter of seconds due to how flying units tend to stack on top of each other.
I've noticed that the Raise Dead pool seems to only be influenced by the amount of battles/casualties occurring nearby. For instance I've played as Ghorst and fought a number of battles in Gnoblar Country against Ogres, really only fighting basic Ogres and Gnoblars, but when I went to Raise Dead later, I had access to 4+ units each of Blood Knights, Vargulfs, Hexwraiths, and other advanced units.
I've actually had many fights as defenders in open fields where I'll lose, then half the army comes back from the dead and I win the second fight. The Dead Rise Again works on defeats as well under certain circumstances and it treats it a lot like you've retreated from the previous battle.
maybe the reason why kislev doesn't hate vlad is because he was one of their nobles. infact in the lore their are still many hidden vampire nobles amongst the kislevite leadership.
I gotta make some corrections my man, a bretonnia minor settlement benefitting from a full tech tree with a farm/ windmill or an industry/loom will each make about 1K per settlement then if you add a special resource like a port or lumber they make well in excess 1350k a piece. Bretonnian economy is enormous.
Can someone explain to me the advantage of vassalization rather than domination and direct control over territories? I understand for Warriors of Chaos and some Norsca settlements won't let you utilize the full potential of settlements, but when you CAN (such as Vampire Counts) it seems wasteful of settlement optimization.
I used to abuse skeletal hordes in WH2. You say skeletons are weak? Well what about I send 4-5 armies of skeletons for each of yours?! By the time you get lot of money you have piles of bones with 4000+ casualties, if you want one day transition into high value armies. Sad, that in any, like ANY multiplayer games you get destroyed. In battle enemy just focus fire your lords , you are dead. In Campaign , they focus to kick you out ASAP , because in time you will be world's biggest pb with your rise dead ability on solid economy. Vampires regular units are the WEAKEST in the game, even the cav , cause Blood Knights get destroyed by tier 4-5 Cav from other factions. Only thing that holds Vampires alive - Monsters and Lords magic casters. If you let Vampires have air superiority , unless you have heavy sharpshooters, you are soooooo in pain. Also , if you let a BloodDragon lord into late game....things he can do with Grave Guards and Blood Knights are nasty...Bonus from lord + Carts + spells transform tier 2 unit into massive tier 5 all killer.
@@LordForwind Just give them long range artillery , like Pirates. Will fix everything , because right now, when you face long range enemy , you have to push ASAP. And the issue is - your monster unit costs as 2-3 tier 4 infantry with anti large and anti charge bonuses. And if you dont push - they RIP you from a far with crazy precision from art units, and if you push , you lose half HP from archers and then other half from thier elite infantry. Dead end scenario. Only way to kill enemy elite army is to send x2 elite army from your side and pull back injured units, so fresh ones will overpower enemy lines. But hey...once enemy player or AI get fast strike lvl 3 and cut you from reinforcing....you are fucked. Vampires are fine by turn 70-75 , when your Grave Guards stats start to match elite infantry , with around 45 def and 45 atk, when your lords push Vargwolf moral to over 100 with thier bonuses, when 2 vampires hero cast 2 AOE spells and RIP half of the enemy army in 5 secs...But in a multiplayer game everyone know it and so, they want you dead asap
Isn't your victory condition to take altdorf as vlad? Aren't you kinda supposed to naturally fight your way through the empire? I'm was just saying this because you mentioned going east as vlad. I'm purely asking this just for advice, because currently I'm just a few turns away from taking altdorf....even tho I keep getting attacked in the south from ogres, multiple greenskin factions, and dwarves.
You are supposed to fight the empire, but if you go east first you can eliminate the dwarves as a threat on your flank and pick up some nice settlements, otherwise they tend to invade you at the worst time.
@Lord Forwind so far I just keep giving the slayer king a tribute in a way to passify him. Clan Englund asked for a peace treaty after defeating them a few times.
Listen I don't want to be that guy, but GHORST is fucking broken. you can out regen a full 20 stacks worth of damage with just a single zombie unit, you don't kill things fast but that's what wind of death is for. plus, with his legendary ability wind of death is free. i can literally defend a whole ogre 20 stack with just a single shit garrison because his regen effects zombies factions wide, look at his rank 12 abilities and try it out. trust me.

yeah it is, especially if you get a battle grave site (forgot what they are called) from the battles.

The Dead Rise Again works on defeats as well under certain circumstances and it treats it a lot like you've retreated from the previous battle.
It's so OP right now and will get nerfed but sadly because it makes sense it's so accurate to how powerful necromancy would be in sustained campaigns.

Interesting! Should be some lore or tech that mentions that would be a cool alliance.

oh the economy can be good but if I remember I was more referencing the pain of the peasant economy mechanic.

thats from tw2, in tw3 he is his own faction that should be unlocked immediately?

Balefire seems pretty great now that magic resistance only applies to spells/magical abilities.
It's better than it was for sure
Volkmar got squished between Manfred and Arkhan in my current game.
yep he tends to die rather quickly or if he survives its usually just 1 tiny settlement

More troops, ally, trade partner and general distraction. Don't give them too much land though! 1 major settlement is enough

Higher is better for starting towers afterwards just build as many as you can.
