Yeeeez! I’ve been playing so much total war lately and your guides have been invaluable for a newbie like me. Seriously, they’re amazing. Please keep them coming!!! Oh, and the vampirates are my favourite faction so far!
I have to say i think they are a bit too weak, i also have problems all the time with these gun units as they do often stop to shoot compared to a archer unit. I think the overall concept of vampire coast is great but i think at least their gun units should be way stronger. The infantry is basically garbage until level 4 But the ships are awesome it just enables a complete new play style.
You can look up the building browser for ships the smae way you cna do for settlements if you ever wanna check up any effects or where untis are unlocked.
One critical error you made on the tech tree is any of the research regarding "zombie pirate gunnery mob". That doesn't just apply to the base version, but it also applies to the other versions. That means, with steadier aim and master gunner, your zombie pirate (handguns) have 181 range (1 more than high elf archers!). You can then also throw +35% armour piercing damage with stolen imperial ordnance and powder monkey, and of course the +10% missile strength from gunnery crews and black powder oxides, turning your handgun units into murder machines. That also means with salvage crews and supernatural regen, your handguns also get +20% replenishment. WIth all the research, lord buffs and a gunnery wight, your handgun units will last the entire game. Edit: This also means reanimated marksman, which you said you ignore, is actually amazing as it upgrades your handguns.
6:05 Diplomacy is way stronger in wh3 than 2, you can easily and should forge allies DE and Skaven. Clan Pestilence/Rakarth as Luthor and Morathi as Noctilus. As the Coast likes to make coves, you may not always occupy, as well you don't want to leave your enemies to rebuild. Attack Ports for coves, Raze inland and let your fellow scourge of choice occupy and build those settlements. Just be mindful if you give Skrolk all of Lustria, Vermintide is a thing... damn rats.
I find this faction to be very difficult. Getting your economy up and running without everyone declaring war on you is hard. Getting out of your base with your single army early to mid game is difficult with so many factions hating you, most of them with superior infantry. Micro managing your gunpowder units is hard af to keep them firing. Always out matched in battle.
This is one of a few factions that I’ve never played (but do own the dlc) They just seem so weird thematically and I really dislike hybrid infantry. Maybe I’ll give them a shot (pun intended?)
They are interesting but need a rework, they tend to boom early and then die by around turn 40-50. Also unless you are good with gun infantry they are annoying to play
I'm kinda struggling on my Count Noctilous campaign so I ended up here after a couple searches. ...Yes, I can confirm that Tyrion declares war on you soon after you take Vaul's Anvil (in my case Averlorn too yayyyyyyy), and maybe it wasn't the safest option going straight to Lothern and then attack the rest of Tyrion's provinces. Right now I'm at turn twenty-something fighting Tyrion, Alarielle and Eltharion (yes he also declared war shortly after) 🙂
Notcullus and Arrenessa were part of the same tabletop campaign against each other. The latter isnt even suppose to be undead and actually hates undead so thats why she has to fight Notcullus.
@@LordForwind I guess they didnt have enough lords for the lord pack? Idk. She is the only pirate lord I havent tried because using undead armies with her kind of bothers me. My favorite lord is Luther Harkon. What a badass
@@ChainsX get Nanu's Sartosa Overhaul on the workshop. Makes her have a full living roster, but you can also recruit vampire coast units if you want too.
Not quite sure, but I am pretty sure Harkon gets his ability to cast spells back kn track in WH2 after you ducttape Slaan Gold to him. Not sure if thats working in WH3, you just make it sound like he stays magical inept for good. Been a while since I played him in 2, I might very well be wrong, though
@@LordForwind Yeah, totally. From the positioning alone Captains are better at cadting. If only they had better mounts, giant undead parrots or something...
When reviewing the Pirate Cove, the UI for the option Picaroons' Hideout (@7:08) shows in parentheses how much gold will be produced. While playing Vampire Coast, I do not see this information displayed. Is there an option that needs to be turned on to show that?
Does the Queen Bess rite give multiples? Or since it’s a “RoR” it only gives you one and then after that just replenishment. Looking forward to the skaven guide. Yes-yes
@@LordForwind He meant if you do the rite again can you make a 2nd Queen bess if the first Queen bess is still alive you could not do that in warhammer 2 only 1 Queen bess your entire faction no matter how many rites you have done. In your guide you say that you can and I don´t think you can do that still there is a mod that enable you to do it on the workshop so I think its not able to. The crab uppgrades are the same not sure if that is intended but all buffs for crabs without shotgun rider works for the crab with shotgun riders like redskill, tech and so on. btw thanks for the guide my favorite faction Sartosa my favorite lord
Yeah I played WH 2 not long ago and was annoyed it was only one possible recruitment. Honestly Queen Bess isn’t nearly strong enough to warrant limiting compared to other broken campaign units.

The necrofex colossus can be recruited via the hull upgrade, for those that don’t know
good tip!

Well, *some* good news for Sartosa. It became a 10 slot settlement in patch 2.3, so there's a little more room for that wine and those landmarks.
Yeah finally they got to that which was totally needed from the beginning!
Forever praying for a vampire coast dlc. One of the coolest factions with not enough variety
Yeah they need a bit of a rework to fit into the new game, the sea shanty race is cool but not enough now

hmm interesting maybe thats why I didnt understand why those abilities only hit two units.

They attack your main settlement pretty relentlessly afterwards.
