This is far more exciting than 200mph in a circle. Harder to sell tickets for this though.
In the 1980s rallying was bigger than Formula 1 .
I do however recommend seeing the circle track race in person at least once as an adult. There is a LOT that you don't see on TV, and it is far more interesting than what makes it to TV.
*You mean 321,8688 km/h
@@vidard9863 that is a legitimate reason for being there in person.
@@Sam-ob4of that's a big number........what does it mean?

Rally drivers are the best drivers in the world.
Absolutely.
Richtig 👍🏻
Rally and drift. Always pulling off amazing stuff.
Their cars are always asking WTF are you doing to me?! 😂
I see teenagers who recently got their license doing this in winter all the time... But you don't see them regularly hit 220 mph and control it... also rally drivers have the benefit of low traction around turns and can kick the back out... If you mean to tell me that someone going WOT no brake is more skilled 😂
The insane part was the cameraman standing on the outside of that muddy rain slick curve.
Yep. Might get a great view but absolutely no hope in hell if it all goes wrong.
@@konewone361cameramen have plot armour remember
@@TheWPhilosopher That's not plot armor, it's "Survivorship bias".

If you think that this guy is in a bad location, just watch literally any rally compilation. Dozens of people come with in feet/inches of the car on insane corners and jumps. I'd really like to know the casualty rate per season over the years
Forget F1, NASCAR etc, rally is by far the most skilled driving discipline. Just amazing skills.
NASCAR drivers are braindead, but F1 is a different kind of skill. It's about consistency and stamina. Rally is about pure aggression. In case anyone wants to defend NASCAR, every argument I've heard for why it takes skill is basically saying that they do a few times a year what even low level GT drivers do as a warmup
@@filmandfirearmsDamn, that's a lot of assumptions. NASCAR is an endurance race, and not all of the tracks they drive on are ovals; in fact, some of them even feature the dreaded right turns. Of course, I'd much rather go to 24 hours of lemons and watch shitboxes drive around all day but some people are REALLY into NASCAR. Sure, they tend to drive in circles a lot but you can't just say it takes no skill at all.
Anyway, I'm going to go sleep with my cousin because I'M FROM ALABAMA AND WE ARE MARRIED AND THE BIBLE SAYS IT'S OKAY
@@filmandfirearms You're being Eric Cartman right now
@@lordthicknipples-gt2oq Considering they have no problem letting people with no racing experience whatsoever drive the cars at full pelt, I'm going to say it takes no actual skill. In order for any rally, GT, or FIA Formula team to let you drive their cars on a real course at full speed, you either have to have pretty significant racing experience yourself, or have enough money to pay for any damages. Again, low level GT drivers do more intense stuff as warmups than NASCAR will do as entire races. If we're talking endurance, let's look at Le Mans or Nurburgring endurance series, for example. I'm not a fan of endurance racing, but I have never disparaged the driving ability of anyone who competes in those series because to do well in those requires serious skill and a good strategic mind. As just one example, spotting your breaking point at the end of the Molsanne going over 300 kph after you've been in the car for 2-3 hours already is quite a feat of concentration, particularly since you're also having to listen and feel every time you hit the brakes or get on the throttle for anything that might be wrong with the car
@@filmandfirearms god damn this is the most ignorance towards nascar ive ever seen
By far the best drivers in the world. There is no comparison to a circuit driver. Rally drivers are s different breed.

Nah... that's when we're outa the gates after work!!
don't forget they have co-drivers next to them telling them how to make every turn.
@@mentalasylumescapee6389 Of course, that makes them even better because circuit drivers get to learn the tracks. These guys only get one shot for every corner on much tighter roads with the worst road surfaces. Combine that with the weather conditions they can get, especially the ones with snow and ice.
And they still do it with higher average speeds than you or I are allowed on the highway.
@@rafox66 they don't get "one shot" they have practice runs before their main race.
i know because rally is big in my country.
The Safari Rally used to come through my boarding school in Kenya in the late 80s. That was full send!
White people aren't African
My dad was a driver in the safari rally in Kenya in the 60’s before he moved to the UK!
We used to catch the WRC rally, with all the wmtop stars, come through our village, as they moved between stages.
I fell out of live with it all - for about 15 years. Then refound my love for it.
RVA??
Sweet!!!
The perfect example of being one with your machine. Knowing exactly how it works and responds to each and every situation. Hell of a driver there. 👍👍
Rally racing is too underrated
I don't think it is ... i think the only problem with rally is spectating ... a bit dangerous just to be next to the track . Other motorsports are more popular just because it's safer close to the track and you see more . In rally most take place remotely
@@contytubI agree, there were many accidents too because of it
