God I love the combination of simple sketchy animation and real world photos, especially during the drop. It helps create this chaos of unable to tell what's real and what's not, while only pausing for brief moments on scenes that leave you only more disturbed. The friend disappearing on the carousel, the quick shot of Aubrey swinging her bat at Sunny, Stranger destabilizing on the swings in the middle of an endless void, even the mailbox person holding onto the rim was oddly terrifying.
holy FUDGE. This animation goes so SO SOHARD!!! WOWW!!! My jaw dropped when the beat did at 1:10 and stayed that way for the remainder of the video. INSANELY beautiful work!!
Really wish I lived in the timeline where this was the actual commercial for the game, like this could've been used in a Nintendo Direct to advertise the game.
I absolutely adore your sketchbook art style. You really nailed the look of the game! I couldn't really tell at some parts if they were done digitally or sketched on paper, but I guess that shows your skill in seamlessly combining the two mediums. Didn't even realize it was capped at 480p as well, very interesting way to make it even more lo-fi looking. This is so inspiring.

Kel isn't too caring, at-least in terms of depth. (He does value his friends, albeit still abandoned them.) As far as i know, he didn't even realise that Sunny had physical issues, unlike... well, people like Kel's Mom and Aubrey. But yeah, he got Sunny out of there.
@@a.k8185 i think its less that hes not as caring and more ignorance kel no thoughts head empty his coping mechanism was to keep on going and stay cheerful, hoping that if he did, the others would start to get more cheerful too, and it did come across as uncaring to aubrey and even hero at one point. as for not noticing the physical issues i dunno could be he was just too surprised and happy that his friend came out of the house for the first time in 4 years to think about stuff like that? m not sure i think kel's jusg a bit lacking in awareness, but he tries his very best :)

Someone who didn't care wouldn't take care of his depressed brother despite the shitty treatment, wouldn't knock on Sunny's door for hours every day (not even expecting an answer), wouldn't forgive and grow sympathetic towards Aubrey so quickly. I'm not even speaking of small details like. He doesn't force Sunny to speak when he's selectively mute, he doesn't let him run in the roads, he takes away Sunny's knife, despite all odds he doesn't hate his siblings, he always puts everyone's well being above his own and the only one who actively tries to put the group together and mend things. He explicitely stated that complicated emotions confuse him, he clearly struggles to express them and supresses a lot of things because they're hard to process for him + he doesn't want to upset others. He didn't abandon them, he was taking care of Hero half of the time and then others just pushed him away. It was stated he was visiting Sunny for a while already. And without him out Aubrey and Basil wouldn't cooperate.
WOW, I absolutely LOVE this animation, it's easily my favorite! All of the black space sections are so weird and unique, they give me so much inspiration for other ideas. Also the way you draw Omori is so cute!
All the surreal unease I felt playing the game was recreated with this, your talent is incredible and this is now one of my favorite Omori animations of all time. :]
