Dude, you just saved me a ton of time and headaches! Last owner of my truck had stripped these out and they were just kinda hanging in there by luck. I think he may have used caulk or the like to get them to stay relatively tight. This is a much better fix that is permanent. Thank you so much & keep up the good work!

Very common for those screws to strip or break. Were you able to get it fixed without replacing the distributor? Keep me posted. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I could have saved a lot if I knew that bracket was out there. What about brand new distributor rotor cross threaded screw holes? Right out of the box, a bad factory srew hole tap job left me with a useless distributor. A quick fix was a self taping screw was installed but ugly. Any thoughts?

I was happy to find that bracket as well. I was doing a no start on my dad's blazer when I ran into the cap screw issues. As far as the rotor screws, not much you can do short of replacement. Thanks for watching and commenting.

How to unclog the air vent holes? is the screen closer to the top or the bottom of the holes and is it okay to just drill through the screen to open it up and leave it like that?

I find a quick shot of brake clean does the trick. Just make sure it evaporates before you try to start it.

Does this work if the distributor is plastic? Yours is metal.
Does this cause a gap, and the distributor won't seat properly?

    • @shanersmechaniclife3164

This works for plastic distributors as well. It does not cause a gap. The plate sandwiches the distributor body between it and the cap. Thanks for watching and commenting.
