Hi.. retired UK police officer here...Great slow speed skills on such a big heavy bike, especially as you were commentating all the way through. We can only dream of having such outstanding training facilities here in uk policing . Very enjoyable to watch. 👍🏽👍🏽 Thank you. (p.s. Subscribed)
Thank you very much for the comment and subscribe! I appreciate it greatly! We are definitely blessed to have fantastic training areas and some excellent instructors who teach us. Enjoy your retirement! I’m a ways off still... haha!
I highly respect our law enforcement officers that routinely have to go into unknown and potentially life-threatening situations almost daily.. It's interesting to see this training.. Impressive! Thank you for dealing with the "entitled" maniacs out there..

Awesome! Thanks for recording and sharing that experience. Big props to your buddy for pushing that Concours around the cone course; I'm sure he loved the track portion. Subscribed and looking forward to more of your videos. Stay safe, brother!
Thank you very much for watching! The Concourse is a big pig in the cones. I’m always impressed when guys can hustle them through the cones. They are rockets on the track though. Have fun with that 1150!
I was impressed at how much respect you afforded your instructors. I've been riding on and off for 40+ years and I'm still learning each time I'm out on the asphalt. It would be nice if you were to narrate in more detail as you are riding your training pattern. Also, If you would also express what you're thinking if your not in an ideal alignment for a particular maneuver. Thanks.
I've always had the highest amount of respect for motorcycle officers! The skills and control level amaze me. Law enforcement is already a difficult job but on a bike it has to take it up several notches! Stay safe and thank for all you do.
Yeah they're not great of motorcycle riders. Outrun them on lesser bikes many a time. And it's not just me, many motorcyclists are better than them, just like many shooters are better them if you go visit them at a gun range you'll see. Many carry weapons, ride bikes, etc. Not because they're good at it but their job requires them to.
@@sean_daly see if you can pass motor school bro. you think you "outrun" me? nah, i just laugh as you haul ass away from me and hope you TC. then it wasn't a pursuit because i didn't chase you, no pursuit paperwork :)
I feel awful after watching this and realizing how hard the regular uturn was for me in the MSF course lol!!! Crazy skills to get through what you’re doing there!!
I’m a cop in my cruiser right now. I’m looking to buy a 2012 R1200RT after my R Nine T got rear ended and totaled at a stop light on the way to EV Room training. Bike was totaled ($9,500 - all cosmetic damage…)I was fine. ATGATT!!! What I’m jealous about is that you don’t have to transport annoying prisoners! 😉👍 Stay safe brother!! (SUBBED w/ full alerts)
Dork in the Road thank you. Funny part is I’m not even close to the top as far as rider skill and ability in my peer group at work. So many riders that are better/faster/more skilled than me in my profession. Lots of practice, lots of training, and I’m still having fun so that’s what matters at the end of the day. I don’t have to be the best to find enjoyment in it.
Thank you Dork for leading us to Mclovin. This fantastic video definitely inspired me to keep on with the skills drills. I'm comfortable handling my bike but this shows how much room for growth I have!
Very useful and important video, thanks for taking the effort and sharing. Regarding the slow cone work, if you ever get a chance to do something similar again, it would be really useful to see a video of the rider as they carry out the drills just to see their head and body movements. Thanks again, appreciate it!!
Man that looks like fun!! Don’t you just love being able to show up and practice and the cones are already set up and waiting for you? Thanks for sharing this brother. Be safe out there and thank you for your service.
Wow! Just became interested in bikes on my 60th birthday a couple of months ago. Your skill is phenomenal! If I can just keep the bike up, I'll be happy. Lol. Thanks for showing what these machines can do.
As a Rider Coach and RT rider, I'd love to see the course lay out. Nice smooth riding even with the hot corner. What helmets are you folks issued? Be Safe out there Brother!
Thank you for watching. I don’t have an overview of the track handy. We pretty much use whatever helmet we choose as long as it fits the color scheme for our departments. I’m running an HJC RPHA Max modular but guys are also running Nolan’s, Shark Evo, and Shoei. I wear a 3/4 Scorpion when I’m working and not on the track.
Practice is so important! Thank you for your service up in Canada! That’s awesome you got to be on motors 21 years! That’s a long run. Thank you for watching!
Awesome! - thanks so much for sharing - particularly the low speed in the cones, it was real treat getting that first person perspective. I wish I could have a go there.
Nice video! Excellent ride through the cones. I can tell you’re a cop because you stay in your lane even on the track. You’ll carry a lot more speed through the corners if you use the whole track.
Thank you! We were actually told to maintain lane discipline to keep things more real world and less track focus. We like to train how we would do it on the street and don’t want to develop race habits for street use.
This is so damn cool. Im signing up for every skill training i can afford this summer. I would really love to train like a motor officer. That is skills. Thanks again. Ill keep watching and riding.
Awesome material Sir. I just stated riding and love watching slow speed training... Any tips for beating the fear to highway or freeway. TY for your service. God bless
Thank you! As far as highway or freeway riding, ride at a pace you feel comfortable with. Try to find a “bubble” in traffic on the freeway. What I mean by that is kinda get in a space with no cars around you if possible to give yourself some breathing room. Then just stay away from Semi’s whether you pass them quickly or hang back from them. Other wise just practice and more practice. It’ll get more comfortable the more you do it.
That was a great video, officer McLovin (cool name too! For real? ) ! I admire your calmness. I am a pediatrician who rides for fun since I was young. I appreciate your and all other officers’ commitment to service! Wish you fun and great health!
I sold my R1200 and got a SH 1600GT... looking a 2019 FJR1300 as well .. got a love big bikes :))) BTW if I run the obstacle course with my 1600..I bet doctors will pull orange cones out of my a$$ for a week :)))
This is my first adventure with you. I enjoyed the ride along I enjoyed the commentary the way you talk to us through the turns on the course that you guys do. Motor officer training is something I always wanted to do not necessarily to be a motor officer but the training looks like it would be so good for everybody. I have subscribe to your channel and I am looking forward to seeing more videos thanks for taking us a long. Scraping a foot peg on a 1200 RT (or your foot) means you’re really got a good lean angle going. The 1250 RT is even a better ride. Good for 140+. Don’t ask how I know that Thanks again.
Moving my torso in what way? Leaning off the bike more? Sometimes I get lazy with my head and eyes so that certainly was a possibility. Visibility on this track is pretty good so I might not have been turning my head as much as I could have been.
Great videos. I'm watching everything you have on the BMWs, as I'm shopping for a used one. Is there any advice you can give me such as which model years to favor or avoid, or what points on the bike to pay special attention to when inspecting used R1200RTs? I see some 200x models online in my price range. Thanks in advance.
Hey Ryan, super cool video! You get paid to ride bikes? Almost as good as getting paid to fly! Question: How is it that Motors can ride side by side but civies can't (my understanding)? Doesn't seem very safe for anyone. I got to ask, when I first started watching your videos with Dork it "seemed" that you weren't that skilled riding off road but now I know you have been a Motor for 8 years and you have Mad street bike skills. Did I miss-judge your ADV skills or are you fairly new to riding in the dirt? Dude, the training course was tough! Wish I had access to one when I had my 2004 ST1300. I am all geared up and ready for ADV camping. I would love to join you when it works out. I was bummed to miss the GL ride in June as I will be back East for twin Grand-kiddo's 3rd B-day.
20220409. I hate to be the 666th comment. I stopped by to say thanks for the video. Around 9:50 in the video you do a braking routine at 40-60 then 80mph. I learn visually also but would like to hear more comment on how you are working your brakes. Example are you applying back brake just before or "just as" you are using your front brakes? For example: You are in a high speed chase, you are giving the guy some room to stop hard. As you are breaking are you also working your bike into neutral so you can get off fast to protect yourself from an aggressor or do you use the kill switch to stop at High speed and exit the bike? When you are making your hard fast turns look so easy can you be more verbal about how you lean into the turn?
It’s not every day you score a front row seat to a 2 wheeled ballet meets yoga show…. The skill set throwing/placing a lazy 300 plus kgs of machine into such tight spots was most impressive and massive kudos your way fella. Stumbled across the page and enjoyed it so much have liked and subscribed for more content. Awsum stuff… Go well, stay upright and be safe mate…
as a rider, this is exactly why i always respect motorcycle cops,.. fleeing suspect think its about speed, nope, its about agility, and you guys have the agility. Ride safe, and go get'em CHIPS
I just discovered your videos and I find it very interesting. I had thought that I would like to be a motorcycle cop when I was a young man, but at 58.... I was wondering if you can say without breaking an policy, about how much ammo you would carry with you on the motorcycle when you are patroling, knowing what ammunition weighs and that you have an AR on board with you as well? It sounds like your work bike is equipped with a Rev limiter or was it the wind? I am impressed by your ability to handle the bike and carry on a conversation with us or your partner. Be safe out there.
This is the second time I've watched your video I wish we could take our bikes on your truck and you could watch us ride and help us with some of our techniques we cannot do it on the street but we could on a track I have 3 BMWs 2013 retired police bike I called that one my Canyon bike I also have a 2015 and a 2016 and they are true BMWs not police bikes any chance you guys whatever open up your track for individuals I would definitely love it
I feel if you really know where the abs threshold is, you’ll be more proficient at stopping overall. Love the way you guys ride so tight. Any safety advantages riding tight like that?
Probably more disadvantages to advantages for riding so tight together. It does make us more visible on the street when we are side by side but it gives us less room to maneuver should something happen. Another reason we ride side by side is shortening up the whole “package” when we all ride together. If we rode staggered it would be a huge long line. Team Oregon runs some advanced motorcycle training and they do work on some braking and cornering on a track. But not a lot of slow speed cone work courses that I know is. My understanding is Team Oregon is developing some but not sure when it will be available.
You’re riding is incredible. I wish I could ride like that. The slow stuff blows me away. That’s were the ok riders become good riders and throwing the pick out at 80 mph without triggering the abs is really classy stuff. I wish I could get the training you guys have.
Thank you very much! It was a great day of training. Sharpening skills and doing things we don’t often do is a total blast! Thank you for watching and the comment. It’s appreciated.
I’m on a 2010 r1200rt. I can’t come close to those turns with that confidence. I’ve been riding for 20+ yrs. Any video from a training technique? Cheers
Nice skills very cool my friends laugh at me cause I'm always doing things of that nature in parking lots and drive ways while I wait for others and it truly pays off in the end. Thank u for the vid 💓
Love you guys, and, very infromative, and ive done advanced motorcycle course, and without any doubt will save you if you need to get out if a serious situation.
To answer your question, it all looks cool! Maybe this would be an excessive expectation, but I think we should all be able to ride like that before we are allowed on the street. Very, very impressive! Thank you so much for the upload.
I have watched NZ police do a similar ride through cones and I find it remarkable to see the accuracy combined with speed on large and relatively heavy bikes. I know that the NZ officers are happy with a move away from the BMW and Honda's that they have been riding in recent years with a switch to the Yamaha MT-09.
Excellent riding skills and really good to see some positive vibs involving the po-po. Hope you and your guys are keeping safe out there. Support from your nieghbours to the North!
Holy smokes! I live in south Salem and have ridden my '18 RT past there on the Aumsville Highway hundreds of times. I never knew a track was there. I'm envious of your training and skills. My next training is in July up at Pat's Acres. Thanks for sharing your great video. Stay safe!
Thank you-that was really interesting especially to a non biker such as myself. How you managed the initial obstacle course was impressive to say the least. These videos increase the respect the general public have for the skills and abilities of traffic officers. Good that the powers that be approve of you making these blogs. They do wonders for the image of the department.
Remind me to NEVER challenge you to any kind of skills race for pink slips!!! Great video! People who say, WOW, it's so easy, did not see the hours of practice and the falls that got you there. Great video and thanks for putting it out there!! Also, I scarpe my foot a LOT with the connie.. catch me :P
D Myers thank you D! Appreciate you watching ! The Concourse is fast, as you can see in the video! Haha! Not sure I could catch ya in the straight aways. Might catch you in the cone patterns though... ;)
Quite impressive... I am a British citizen...we used to train with the British police and the Irish.. The Irish are mad...but nice..they would use a Honda 900...l would be on a 400v4...we are talking 1980s..through country lane flat out...then joining an intersection at about 120mph...road works and with car travelling at 30...mad..but l could keep up with them.. they later commented on my riding. Saying not many can keep up with them.. Great times...
That’s impressive! I’ve driven in Ireland and I can say that is an experience compared to America. Couldn’t imagine screaming through those narrow lanes on a bike at those speeds. Thank you for watching!

Wow. I wanna learn that on my goldwing 1800. Nice to see The skills from a motorcycle cop. Thanks. Greetz from The Netherlands 👍🏍
This is the second time I've watched your video I wish we could take our bikes on your truck and you could watch us ride and help us with some of our techniques we cannot do it on the street but we could on a track I have 3 BMWs 2013 retired police bike I called that one my Canyon bike I also have a 2015 and a 2016 and they are true BMWs not police bikes any chance you guys whatever open up your track for individuals I would definitely love it
I am ZX14R Kawasaki rider, , you guys are Just Great. Good to witness the fantastic skills you Bigmen have. Great Video.
I feel if you really know where the abs threshold is, you’ll be more proficient at stopping overall. Love the way you guys ride so tight. Any safety advantages riding tight like that?
And do you have to be a cop to get this type of training?
Probably more disadvantages to advantages for riding so tight together. It does make us more visible on the street when we are side by side but it gives us less room to maneuver should something happen. Another reason we ride side by side is shortening up the whole “package” when we all ride together. If we rode staggered it would be a huge long line. Team Oregon runs some advanced motorcycle training and they do work on some braking and cornering on a track. But not a lot of slow speed cone work courses that I know is. My understanding is Team Oregon is developing some but not sure when it will be available.
@@Mclovingarage I agree: most motorcyclists should ride staggered in traffic and avoid riding side by side. My bike is an R1200GSW.
Cheers
Just found this....awesome! Leaning into each curve with you. Makes me want to ride too. Good job. Stay safe.
I love the narration on what you're doing.. Very professional and great rider. And cool to get an inside look at Police Training.. 🇱🇷👮🚔👍
Wow!!!! You make look so easy
I agree with Brian_636. Just makes me more and more and more jealous......!!! ha ha ha
Thoroughly enjoyed! My mission is to buy a used RT and work on my slow speed skills, thanks for the inspiration!....
Much respect for your skills and dedication to constantly improve.
Thank you! Appreciate you checking out my video!
This was really cool! It made me want to go out and by a motorcycle! Thank you for your service and be safe Sir!!!
Thanks for sharing the video, I ride a 2006 RT. It is nice to see what the bike will do. We don’t have a chance to hone our skills like that
Looks like you went to West Metro motor school, Johnny Cage taught you... Riding great 👍🏼
Yes he did! Thank you! Appreciate you checking it out!
That was great, looks like a hard day, but also fun, so many aspects of riding covered.
hey man I would love to see some more Motor vlog's from LEO side of things I think that would be cool

I think I could get through that cone course on a mountain bike. I’d also have a hard time knowing what I was supposed to do for each section.
Thanks for sharing. I am a new driver. I was wondering were can I find the measurements of the turning course’s?
Excellent skills. Just got to ask tho why do you ride side by side when in pairs is it not safer for you to be staggered ? Cheers.
Training was very good and you are very good handling your big bike, i will give you a big big thumbs up. Keep it up.
CAN I GO WHITH YOU AND RIDE MY 2013 BMW POLICE BIKE I NEED THE PRACTICE YOU CAN TEACH ME CORNERING AND BRAKING
Stay safe!
Have fun at Pats Acres! That’s a fun track. I’ve ridden it a few times with Team Oregon. Thank you for watching!
Thank you very much. I appreciate you watching and your comments. It was fun to make.
Thanks for the experience! -from Lake Patrol
Terrific video ! Feels like we are on bike with you . You have great skills , and you accept advice kindly and openly ! Great job . I ENJOYED ! 👍😁
Thank you very much for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!

Great riding and Skills but, is that a sewing machine I hear in the background?
this is why i don't run from motorcycle cops
😂
Always nice to see someone ‘owning’ their bike. Great video. Very instructive. I ride a 2006 R1200RT and am always learning so thanks. (Subscribed) 😊
Thank you Damien! I appreciate you subscribing and watching my video. The R1200RT is an awesome bike!
You make it look easy that is a sign of smooth expert learned a lot watching thank you
unbelievable.....!! GREAT WORK
THIS WAS SOOOOO AWESOME! Thank you for taking the time to post this.
You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching it!
Man, that was McFriggin AWESOME!
Thanks Critter!
Might catch you in the cone patterns though... ;)
@@Mclovingarage Might,, ya you would.
