Been riding since 1970. Always rode this way and enjoy it. Nobody will ride with me, but who cares. On my fifth bike and of course it's a Triumph Bonneville...again.
I just got one myself, my first bike and man does it feel good. Planted, stable, and just pure comfort.
Bug this really resonated with me as I’m sitting down to enjoy a cold glass of iced tea after an evening slow cruise. On my Triumph and in life, the satisfaction is not in reaching the destination but rather how I get there.
Did a long ride yesterday and came home to a Sierra Nevada non-alcoholic IPA that just hit perfectly. I obsessed about it for the last 15 miles of my ride!
I like your style of riding. I started riding about 2 years ago at 71 when I got my license. Fast riding not for me. I enjoy my ride just like you do. Good job. Keep it up !
Best thing I did was get my first motorcycle 2 years ago at the age of 50. I actually have a Bonneville T100 and see myself in your videos. Exactly they type of riding I enjoy and I get to watch you as I await spring here in northeast PA. Keep the great videos coming! Thanks for sharing.

This guy's whole vibe here is exactly what I felt when I rode my bike for the first time. It was just peaceful and free. No other feeling like it for me. I can't wait to get out and on the bike for my next ride. Maybe I'll have a buddy to ride with next time.
Sweet ride. You're blessed to live where you do - most folks probably have to ride a couple highway hours to get to quiet places. And I suspect you likely speak for the silent majority, who just wanna chill and not have to be Rossi.

Riding motorcycles is like every other aspect of life! You ALWAYS have "Ride your own Ride" and BE YOURSELF. You ALWAYS have to LOVE & ACCEPT YOURSELF for exactly "WHO" you were BORN to be! Because some things are NOT a "personal choice." Like DNA, gender, birth defects, sexual orientation, bone structure, fingerprints, or the color of your skin, eyes, or hair.
Because when people try to "Ride someone else's Ride" they ALWAYS end up crashing and burning (that's a figure of speech)!
And when people try to live their own lives the way someone else thinks they should, they ALWAYS end up crashing and burning!
And when people refuse to LEARN to LOVE & ACCEPT THEMSELVES for EXACTLY "WHO" they were BORN to be, they ALWAYS end up crashing & burning!
Their lives ALWAYS become more of a "living hell" than a "wonderful world!"
The whole point of LIFE is to "RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE!"
BE the BEST YOU that you can be!
Because NOBODY can "Be You" better than YOU!

Hi Bug, many thanks for this relaxing video. I've been riding motorbikes for 30 years and I'm currently also on a T120. As I get older - I've just turned 60 - my riding style is becoming calmer and more relaxed. That doesn't necessarily mean that I ride slowly, but with increasing experience comes a smooth riding style that doesn't require hectic braking and shifting manoeuvres and still stays within the speed limits.
Even though some manufacturers seem to be in an arms race in terms of performance, there are also more and more small capacity bikes coming onto the market that are made for exactly the kind of riding style you describe.
In my opinion, nothing can reduce stress levels after a hard day's work more effectively than a relaxed after-work ride on a motorbike.
With this in mind, I wish you and all of us a great 2024 motorbike season. 🏍

Agreed ! Sometimes I do ride my Triumph 900 speed twin just burbling around like you are in this video. I love that bike. ! 😎 sometimes I’ll ride to the store just for a package of chocolate chip cookies.

I rode with a group of British Classic enthusiasts last weekend, and though they are a swell group of guys, they move through the mountains at a stunningly fast pace....and here I am, a geologist and lover of nature who did not get chance to slow down and look at outcrops, much less ever stop through the mountain passes....I was so out of my comfort zone hurling my 51 year old Moto Guzzi through the twisties...old drum brakes that really don't work well. Anyway, I guess I am meant to ride by myself and thats OK with me

Nice pace to ride taking in the scenery and fresh air here in the uk I ride around the Suffolk & Norfolk coastal roads at a similar pace on my T120 great way to unwind 👍
Great video and totally agree. I’m 52 and I’ve just recently got a Bonnie T120 Black after a lay off of around 16 years to raise a family, I’m not interested anymore in trying to be the fastest power ranger on the road, I much prefer riding the roads here in Scotland and actually seeing the scenery of where I am, of which we have some of the best scenery in the world. Keep doing you and riding your ride and getting home safe, that’s what it’s all about for me nowadays, not doing ridiculous speeds and hanging off getting the knee down, but I suppose experience comes with age! Greetings from Germany. This is the content I always wanted and never found! I started riding 4 years ago in my mid 30s. It is so hard to find riders who actually ride "slow/chill". We got the Autobahn where you can legally ride 250kmh and more and I was hoping that this helps riders to chill on country roads but it is the opposite! So many riders overtake me when I am already doing the legal limit (100kmh(62mph)) what is plenty IMHO. Thank you for showing that there are riders "like me" that take it slower. ❤

Yeah, I think if I had the autobahn here, I'd go, once in awhile, and get the speed out of my system so I could then better relax on the country roads. That sounds amazing actually!

Great message! Having grown up in the US and then moved to Germany, it seems to me Americans are a lot less obsessed with speed than in many places. When I'm back I'm always amazed at how relaxing it can be to drive in the States, even if you do have to keep your eyes open.
My first bike was a Royal Enfield Classic 500. It taught me to ride slow and enjoy the view. My second bike is a Bonneville T120 (I still have the Classic 500 though) and I quickly learnt that I can't enjoy high speeds. And so be on the Classic 500 or on the T120, I ride my own ride taking my time and enjoying road. I appreciate channels like yours and the work that you do.

Just watched some of your great videos. I ride a Triumph Thunderbird 1600cc cruiser. I ride it around Devon and Cornwall at my own pace and love it, too. I get everything you say about riding your own ride. I find riding and owning a motorcycle almost a spiritual experience. No-one would know this until they did it themselves. Looking forward to your future videos.

I agree it's close to spiritual. I'm not sure I've ever felt a deeper connection to an object - a machine - than I do to my motorcycle (and even my Vespa). I think it has something to do with the fact that we place so much trust in them. We trust them with our lives, and with our happiness. Not too many other things hold that much value. They have a kind of soul.

Yup. I try to ride every day, either the motorcycle or my Vespa. So 95% of my riding is camera-free. I love making videos but I also love NOT making videos... :)

Yup - this is the way to do it. Although, I disagree on one thing, drives in a top down roadster in this sort of setting are also very satisfying.

I’ve been mulling over the Speed Twin 1200 and the T120 for six months. My first bike is a Street Twin 900. I like cruising along and I also like to ride fast. Not insanely sport bike fast, but that feeling of leaning through the curve. There’s a sweet spot for me, the Goldilocks ride. I think the T120 gets me there without the cramped riding position of the Speed Twin, and it’s beautiful. And the biggest reason to not go fast all the time especially through twisties is that you just end up behind a slower vehicle in a no passing zone anyway. Chill. Open it up when you can. A good ride has chapters.

similar age and mindset as you...nice, mellow video, thank you. So many riding videos about hammering on the brakes before the turn, hitting the apex and full throttle exits...hell, I almost never even need to brake before my turns, just ride a little over the speed limit and all is good.
Same. Stuff like trail braking and accelerating out of turns is baked into my brain from days of old. So it's there if/when I need it. But 99% of the time I don't...

Started riding last year at 38 and just bought an older Fatboy as my first bike this year. I'm right there with you. I have no interest in riding fast, I wanna cruise and enjoy the ride and surroundings.
I was out last night coming home from a 5+ hour trek to the coast and back... I got on the last stretch of road and ended up riding about. 20 miles with a pack of Harley guys, one of whom was on a Fatboy. It was such a hoot. One of the guys had this chopped up old thing with what looked like a coat rack welded to the rear. I don't know why but I absolutely fell in love with it and haven't stopped thinking about how much I want a bike like that someday... Not as an everyday bike, but something to drag out now and then and just do that sorta thing...
Yessss this is the content I'm looking for. So much glamorizing of breakneck speeds and whatnot on this site. I just want to see other folks who get riding joy from the cruise, taking in sights, and being on the bike. Appreciate your riding style, keep it going (and ride safe)!
Except for my commute to work, I ride like this most of the time. Sure, there are times when I am taking the curves a little faster, but mostly, I ride to a part of life and not just a passenger. I like to feel, smell, taste, sense, the environment I'm riding in. I'm experiencing it, not witnessing it.
Life moves pretty fast, no sense in me speeding up to make it go quicker, Why not slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Ride as slow as you want!!!! Unfortunately I’ve had to ride over two large dogs and a small dear. But I have never had to lay any of my bikes down. So reasonable speeds and good control keeps me healthy so far as long as the traffic is trying to run you off the road!!!
Started riding at 51 with a Royal Enfield 350. 3 years later, part of me wants to upgrade to a T120, but I’d probably still just meander around at the same speeds I am now and not use the extra Horses. I ride to decompress and relax, not get an adrenaline rush or barely avoid hospitalization

Started riding last year at age 40 on a 2018 Bonneville T120. Put 11,276 miles on her for the season. This video is exactly what I needed to see. I’m not a speed demon by any stretch of the imagination, but thank you for reminding me that takin’ it easy has a ton of its own rewards too. Awesome video. For what it’s worth, I happen to enjoy your video content immensely because the commonality in riding styles and attitude is amazing! If I want to watch bikers laying it all on the line, going all out, and pushing the envelope, then I’ll watch The Isle Of Man TT Races, MotoGP or MotoAmerica, but that doesn’t mean I wish to be a participant! Give me great weather, great roads with scenic views and my Honda Rebel CMX1100 DCT and I am a very happy man. Slow down and enjoy G_D’s creation is how I see it. Great ride. You ride your T120 like I like riding mine.
I have 50cc, 150cc, and 177cc scooters...They're not fast, but they're more than enough to enjoy the hilly roads that I ride.
Scooters are the best. They're underrated and perfect for folks who, for whatever reason, can't or don't want to handle a larger motorcycle. I love my Vespa just as much as my Bonneville. Maybe more.
I think, for me, it's that i don't have much interest in riding highways or ripping up the roads at high speeds (basically the topic of your video here). And the speeds that i'm getting in my 177cc Stella 2T are in the 60-70mph range. I could, and probably will eventually, get something in the scrambler class so that i can explore the dirt roads like i do in my 50cc, or maybe an older Honda CB made into a cafe racer so that i can look cool at the coffee shop or whatever, but that's a fully different experience that I'll have to weigh my interest in when that time comes. For now, slow is fun.

62 here. Started riding at 55. Plan to ride as long as I can. It was a bucket list item and I wished I had done it years sooner.
Great video! Liked and Subscribed (something I never do). I've had my motorcycle endorsement since I was 16. That was 48 years ago (you do the math). I've always been a slow, deliberate (safe) rider, and most of my friends won't ride with me for that reason. As a result, most of my riding is solo, and that's OK. I've been on group rides, where I usually end up as a straggler, or intentionally go my own way. I'm not a loner (quite the opposite). My current primary motorcycle is a 2006 T100 Black, which suits my riding style to a "T". I'm looking forward to watching your future, as well as your past videos.

My dad brought a used 5hp western auto centrifugal clutch minibike from an auction in Illinois back to our farm in iowa in 1975. I was 11 years old and caught the riding bug. I have a T120, 2 Fatboys, and my Himalayan. I love the Himalayan because I can cruise the 2 lanes and then cut off onto any gravel or dirt road I see. Yesterday I took a 3 hour Sunday ride on the Himalayan and discovered several new 2 lane and gravel roads. I actually love the T120 and the Himalayan more than I do the cool cat chromed out Harleys)))
