Meet Alice, a Badass Triumph Scrambler 1200X Rider
Alice bought her Triumph Scrambler 1200X last year after a drunk driver took out her Suzuki Boulevard. She's got nearly 6000 miles on it so far (EDIT: she's crossed 6K!), some of which I've had the pleasure of sharing with her. Meet Alice, hear her advice for older riders, and get inspired to hit the road.

Triumph's 2024 Scrambler 900 is rowdy without being unrefined, beautiful without being gaudy, and thoroughly modern without being untrue to its heritage. So what's the problem? I just hit 3000 miles and it took me only a few weeks. To say I can't stop riding it is an understatement. I'm addicted. But there's one small issue I just can't seem to get resolved... British Customs Slash Cut Shotgun Exhaust Brings the Triumph Scrambler to LIFE!

The British Customs Slash Cut Shotgun Slip On Exhaust dramatically changes the look and feel of Triumph’s Scrambler 900. In addition, it solves a weight imbalance issue that causes the bike to pull right, because the stock cans are soooo heavy. What do you think? Let me know in the comments. 67 now and been riding since 8 years old with my first mini bike and still riding. Only thing that I've always wanted to do was to ride cross country. Getting married put my dreams off, then children (best thing that happened to me) but seemed I never had time. Now at 67 I have the time but not the financial means to make it happen. Guess I could swing it but should something happen I would be stranded. Maybe one day. I've always been one to give out long before I ever give up. Everyone ride safe and enjoy.

I met 2 old riders, one late 80 and his young mate in his 70, he said I’d will give up when he can’t physically get on the bike, when his wife died the last thing she said was keep riding as long as you can, they were both so together with balance and coordination, it was an inspiration to me and the others I was with at the cafe, so that is my outlook, keep doing what you love till you physically can’t.

My first thought on hearing your start up was that the battery is weak .I see others are saying the same thing .. Maybe try a new battery .. SO I got a left over 2017 Street Scrambler in 2018 for $1500.00 off at $9500.00 . I added a center stand , heated grips larger Tiger adventure dirt foot pegs and a pannier rack for a wooden box to hold my winter and rain gear .. 19K miles so far and I love the thing .. I am on my third chain and my second sprocket and my third set of tires.. Lots of dirt and winter riding here in New England .56 MPG and low test fuel .I wish the gas tank was a littel bigger .170 miles range being carefull .. All the best , Guy

Stumbled onto your channel and your brief but frank chat with Alice. I love the scramblers although I don’t own one. I have an Indian chieftain limited (113000km) and just bought a Pan Am (21000km) 3rd hand, oh an inherited Kawasaki 250cc intruder (from the guy who bought my 1200 iron sportster). Oh and I live in Australia but one thing Alice said resonated with me and it’s once I go riding I won’t to go further. Love long road trips, daylight to dawn & maybe a little beyond too, that just what I do. Also it calm the noise, I zone. Into riding that is and zone out almost everything else except my daughter and granddaughter. Oh and I’m about your ages too, 55. And been riding for 10yrs licences for 8, after my business partner and his partner both got killed in a bike accident. She survived him only for a few hours, I think of them too when I’m riding. I’m 5mths post open heart surgery too from a valve replacement that I’m lucky to have survived, there’s a lot of noise to block out. Thank you to you and Alice for sharing. I’ve subscribed and will do a bit of a binge of your earlier vlogs. 🙏 & thank you again.

Started her out on a Suzuki 250, she ended up on a Harley Sportster. Miss riding with her. For twisty roads If either of you get to NH you must ride the Mount Washington Auto Road. Shameless plug, I just posted that video. I say in the video I would never do it again, but it's like the Tail Of The Dragon, it calls you back. And from what Alice said in your video, you have to do it in reverse because you have to come down sometime. Although I have heard of people hiring someone to truck their bike down. I love your style of video making. Jealous actually. Glad the algorithm brought us together. Thank you.

I viewed your video and to say what’s good for some ,maybe not so good for others. I’m a guy that’s been riding for approximately 65 years. In some cases I’ve been on a bike longer than some been alive. As I aged I gained wisdom and experience. In my early 40s I had the opportunity to attend a law enforcement motorcycle training course. Learned a lot, but the main issue is keep the bike up on two wheels. When I returned from a long tour in Vietnam, my old 1963 Harley was my best therapist. It became my best friend again. Oh I traveled across the USA, and saw stuff ya can’t feel while driving a vehicle. Been through a bunch of bad storms in the Midwest. I’m touching into 8 decades now and I’m still riding, got the best of health and my mental status is very good. Just went through my annual physical and the doc. stated I was as fit as a 40 year old. When that enter person speaks to ya and tells ya it’s that time, then you have to do your own soul searching. That same voice spoke to me about 20 years back. That voice had a lot of outside pressure. If you’re thinking about riding late in life and never rode much before, ya might give yourself more time to think and get the training. That roads are not forgiving if you fall. Especially if one isn’t dressed for it, like you’re at the beach with flip flops on. That black top will eat you alive and you’ll heal very slow with a great deal of pain. Dress for the ride! See a lot of youngsters that ride as if they’re riding to hell. What’s their hurry, it’s waiting for ya if ya don’t take care and enjoy the ride. There is no big “S” printed on our shirts and you’re not the man or woman of steel. A 3-4 thousand pound vehicle will hurt ya if ya get hit by one. Ride with the belief these people driving a vehicle don’t see ya, cause they may not. Ride smart, enter an intersection with the thought you’re invisible slow as you enter cause there is always someone not looking for ya and turns in front of ya. Anticipate the unknown, you’ll live to ride longer. When I returned from Vietnam my grand dad told me that you wont see a motorcycle parked in front of a therapist office. Ya know he was right. He was one of those crazy guys who rode the board tracks in the 20s for extra money. Plus he rode the wheel of death at carnivals. He was a rider that got me into it in my very young age. Thanks grandpa, you’re the best. And still ridding with St.Peter. In the heavens. Guys keep the wind and the sun in your face. You’ll live better for it…..FREEDOM!
