    The problem i had after i installed a set of British Customs Sleepers on my Bonneville is they sounded so good i couldn't keep myself from grabbing massive handfuls of throttle, they turned my mild mannered Bonneville into a beautiful beast... Now i need a new clutch! 😂

    Those are great. I have BC shorty pipes on my T120 and nothing sounds better than that initial start on a quiet Saturday morning.

    I love the sound and understand the adjoining urge to twist the throttle. For me though I can only take a short period of exhaust sounds regardless of the wonderful notes. I prefer my bikes and scooters on the quiet end of the curve.
    And I don’t need further temptation to twist the throttle. When I watch these sorts of POV clips where everything looks fast I keep saying to myself “Deer! Deer! Deer!”
    Alas the trauma of riding in eastern forests and farmlands.

    Very nice, thanks for giving us so many examples of the sound as you ride, accelerate, etc. I'll consider those for my Scrambler. Can you tell me what mirrors those are ? I'm having trouble seeing around my shoulders with the stock mirrors.
    Thanks !

    They remind me of the straight pipes we used to put on our Honda 90S. Not a slam in any way. Those things ignited the imagination!

    That Triumph Scrambler sounds absolutely Incredible, I love that tone. I love your Scrambler 900 also. I'm leaning towards a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE since I'm 6'4. I've really enjoyed your videos, thanks for sharing!

      I rode an XE a few months back. Something was wrong with the baffling in the pipe and it sounded incredible. :) Great bike. Shockingly powerful. The orange one really screams out to me.

    They now sound like a Triumph should sound!! Although because they sound sooo good, you might notice a slight drop in fuel mileage do to the more active twist on the throttle. 👍

    They sound fantastic!! Can I ask how you recorded them, mic placement...in your jacket or?

    • @BugMotoChannel
      @BugMotoChannel  3 месяца назад +1

      I placed a Movo lav mic directly between the seat and the luggage rack, with a foam pop filter and a dead cat on top of that. All ziptied to the rack and patched into a TASCAM X8 32-bit audio recorder. The flaw in the setup is the mic. It's dirt cheap, and really sounds excellent for voice inside my helmet, but I need something a bit beefier to do these exhaust recordings... Took me a long time to get the EQ sounding like what things really sound like... I'm considering strapping my expensive voice-over mic to the rack to see what happens. :)

    Nice upgrade. Sounds tough. Now I’m not 100% sure given I’m listening to those pipes on an iPhone lol but they sound really close to the stock pipes on my speed twin 900. I can’t say for sure but the sound is oddly familiar. They are loud on my bike not modified. My riding buddy confirms that as he says when we sit at a stop light he can’t hear his Speed 400. lol.

    Wow! That sounds epic! Were they just a straight swap or did you need any additional tuning? Any idea whether these are legal in Germany?

    • @BugMotoChannel
      @BugMotoChannel  3 месяца назад

      No idea about Germany. It was a very simple straight swap. The ECU should retune itself to accommodate the pipes. I did do a 12 Minute Tune to be sure, but I don't think that's necessary. (You run the bike for 12 minutes from cold without touching the throttle, then once the fans kick in you let it run for an additional 12 minutes. This resets the ECU, according to Triumph)

    Like the sound! Has a bit more 'bite' than your stock exhaust. Now I have to wonder if I could/should do something for my T12GTPro.

      Hmm. One thing I don't really know is whether these pipes will end up being too loud for long-haul touring. If that's what you do on the GTPro, might be something to think about.

    I'm intrigued about the weight imbalance thing, I can't say I've noticed my Scrambler pulling to the right at all. When did you find it doing it?
    Then again, you're riding on the wrong side of the road, so maybe it's a combination of camber and pipes?

    • @BugMotoChannel
      @BugMotoChannel  3 месяца назад

      Definitely camber plays a part, but I've tested it on the other side of the road (don't tell anyone) and it did the same thing. It happens when I take my hands off the bar. But now that it's not doing it as much I realize it was doing it when I was running one-handed as well.

    The pipes sound great! I'm curious, how's the heat on the right hand side? Would love a Scrambler 900 or 1200X, but live in FL and am concerned about heat. Is it manageable? Thanks!

    • @BugMotoChannel
      @BugMotoChannel  3 месяца назад +1

      I can't say too much yet about the new pipes, since I don't have enough time on them, but so far so good.
      As for the stock pipes... I just got back from a four day trip in temps that at points were around 110F. I had no issues. Sitting in traffic for very long periods of time might get a bit hot, but I've not found them to be problematic. I was expecting the worst, really, but have been pleasantly surprised.

      I've had a Scrambler 900 with stock pipes since nov 2023, living in South Florida. Up until about march I never noticed the heat coming from the pipe. But once summer started approaching, I did. To be honest, while you are riding, you can't feel the heat, even midday in July. But if you are stopped at a red light for more than a minute when > 90F, you'll definitely feel it. It won't burn your leg or anything, but you do feel the heat on your inner thigh. What I do when that happens, is to place my right foot on the foot peg, that way my thigh is further away from the pipe. Knowing what I know today, I would choose the Scrambler 900 again :)
