I got my very first mourning gecko over the weekend. She came with a jar set-up just like you showed. But I can't wait to get her a bigger bioactive set-up then eventually add dart frogs!

My morning gecko got loose about 2 months ago maybe as long as three and it's as still winter here. I was really bummed about because is was a accident on my mothers part in not realizing the lid to the tank was not seated right. Actually there are no "male" Mourning Geckos. They are ALL female - and have the internal organs to support egg development. When held as singles in a tank, Mourning Geckos tend not to lay eggs as much. They seem to need external stimulus of a group to "trigger" the egg development process. It may be a latent genetic trait/leftover from way back when they "needed" a partner. That's why colonies explode with babies. They are not actually copulating - they are sight/scent/feel stimulated to start their internal cloning mechanism. Likely genetic programming tells them that since there are many other geckos in the area, then it must be safe to start producing and laying eggs to ensure success. Hope that helps - and good luck with your "male" geckos ;-) You'll be fine... :-)

I’ve got the opportunity to buy a small colony of mourning geckos. I have several isopods set ups along with springtails, my question is will the geckos supplement their diet with them?
I’ve a question: If you do plan on selling babies, how old should they be before you do sell them? Btw, I have 2 geckos and currently 4 eggs so I’m a ways out from selling any, but I like to research things as far ahead of time as possible.
It really varies depending on who you ask, but a safe bet is two months old. They’re generally well established by this point, and any issues can usually be seen.

I know this is a old video but i'm thinking about getting mourning geckos and I don't want a big colony relatively early into ownership, could i put them into a large enclosure so they don't reproduce fast?
I personally don’t do full cleans it kills the springtails and messes with the bio. I only clean parts if they get moldy or something dies and it smells.
I know this is late, but I use mosquito netting fabric to keep my tiny Ranitomeya dart frogs from crawling up into any tubes. The fogger is their favorite, but they can't get in! :) I superglue a small piece of the fabric around the end where the fog comes out. If it ever becomes loose, I then use a strip of Gorilla waterproof tape. But so far, only had to do that in 1 tank (out of 6). Good luck!
Courting ritual? To my knowledge all mourning geckos are female and are all genetically identical they breed by literally cloning themselves its amazing, looking at starting a colony for ackie chow I know they have other staples to feed from but in the wild they're gecko eaters as well as insectivorous so it seems like a really inexpensive sustainable food source for reptiles that have a gecko diet
Is there any cannibalism with the eggs, because I can't find them? And I know my geckos are laying eggs, but I can't find any. (there are no babies showing up, too)
