For those of you coming over from The Midnight's Twitter/FB/Insta/whatever post, thank you for watching, and extra special thanks to those who had already watched before they shared it today! I am the farthest thing from a podcaster or interviewer (this was my first time doing anything like this) and this was filmed on my cheap Logitech webcam using its built-in mic. And another thing you don't see is me constantly chugging Gatorade anytime I'm not on camera because I had a nagging cold that day :) It was a honor to interview Tim and Tyler for this wonderful occasion and I thank them especially for being so easy to talk to and eager to share the story of The Midnight. Aimless and upward, forever!!
As a HUGE 70s Classic Rock devotee with diverse tastes, I found these guys a year ago and also love their sound, as they capture the 80s, as though they lived through them :) Hope to see the here in LA on Sep 13th :) I live 4 miles from The Greek! Well done The Midnight :)
In early 2014 my band had broken up, I had quit my job, my relationship ended, everything for me started new. I picked myself up from the ashes of my former life, and met the love of my life in August 2014 and awhile later we both discovered The Midnight. I’ve become a bigger and bigger fan with every new song and album. The Midnight is the soundtrack to these years of my life and I love the way their tracks embody nostalgia of the past, the essence of the present and the mystery of the future all at the same time. They’ve been a huge inspiration for all my creative projects in recent years and my first choice for music in my car. Keep making amazing music you guys, great interview, thank you for all of this history! 🌆🌅💖
Me too! I had nearly 2.5 sheets of bullet points I wanted to talk about but I think we barely finished 1 sheet :) I could've kept talking to them for hours. They did such a great job pivoting the conversation and sharing lots of great info and stories.
Love this interview. I found The Midnight and your wiki back in 2018 and Became a long time fan. Thank you for this interview. All I need now is all their records in physical form and i should be good 😂
Timothy, this was so great! You’re so sweet and I love how you let them talk even though I’m sure there was a lot more you wanted to ask. If there’s one thing I’ve learned watching this is how I should love The Midnight in a way that it doesn’t hinder their creative process and that feels respectful and supportive. I definitely feel I understand Tim more and appreciate his perfectionism. Both of them are such generous artists while being exemplary humans, cannot wait to see their trajectory to bigger success. ❤
Thank you so much sir for conducting this inspiring, informative and uplifting interview with these two pros. I love their music since 5 years and have been a regular visitor to The Midnight Wiki. And honestly it doesn't even feel like an unofficial website, i mean the whole visual aesthetic appeal in terms of colors and fonts, so cool and relatable to who they are. Just amazing. 🌆😇
Wonderful interview, you did a fantastic job, Timothy! Super interesting, I found out so many new things I did not know! Massive thanks to Tim and Tyler and everyone associated with the band over the last ten years. Discovering The Midnight really did change my life so here's to many more years of their music and this awesome community.
Thank you Timothy for being such a sincere and awesome host. You made it so comfortable for both Tim and Tyler to share an incredible story. Thanks to the 3 of you from a UK fan for a great interview. Here's to the next 10 years! 😘👊
I got Jesse Molloy playing sax on several tracks from my album I'm currently finishing off - great guy! So interesting to hear these origin tales. Thanks for posting this!
very nice interview. the Midnight mean so much to me. met them in 2018 at a show at First Ave. in Minneapolis, so down to earth and great. seen them 3 time since then and seeing them again in October. Midnight nation is the best.
Damn I remember discovering them with the original art of the old car, and the la city skyline. They had about 25 k listeners and I was like these guys are gonna be big.
This is my favorite band ever. I’m literally there biggest fan and wanna play saxophone with them so so bad. This band just peaks my autistic ass and I fucking love it.
Great to watch this excellent interview/ flew to London to see them in The Electric Ballroom in Camden , London / what a incredible gig 👏👏👏 Question I would love to know is a financial one / Are The Midnight making a decent income now with touring and all the effort and a general question for musicians and song writers / how do you mange without a steady weekly or monthly income while starting out ? Thanks 👍

Awesome video man, I really hope you get to do this with them again! I was hoping you’d ask Tim if he will ever sing on a track again.
