This demonstrated the power of the Metropolix better than any other video I've seen. I was just about to pull the trigger on a Xaoc Moskwa II, but now I'm having second thoughts again!
This is a great acid sound. There’s a Diy SID Bassline synth too, quite different but sounds good, with a crazy tracker sequencer 🤓. Thanks for the video, I’m like listening to all these techno guru’s work👍
Damn nice. This is high on my list, just waiting for new stocks to arrive. Just scored Tetrapad/Tete a couple of weeks ago, and a guy is holding a used Shifty for me if nobody else bites before payday... Intellijel really have their shit sorted out, I'm just starting to see why people love their modules so much.
Reddit brought me here and I like electro. I thought a while about buying and soldering an Ryk M185, since it has all the improvements I missed at the Metropolis but with a quirky style and formfactor. Now the Metropolix seem to be the more appealing Sequencer, instant fun I guess and I prefer sliders..
I keep coming back to this video. It's such a nice little jam, it has a lovely melody and it makes me want to buy a Metropolix even more! What VCO modules are you using in this setup?
Jammin hard! Nice use of Loopy and Pitch Pre on the ctrl knob. Curious: What scale were you cycling through with Pitch Pre? I was impressed that you kept landing on such musical stuff with the ctrl knob 😊 And damn, you made this right after it came out in March, impressive!
That was incredible... I just started looking at this again recently and especially after your video I think I may have to try it out! Were you using anything else to sequence the melody or was it all in the metropolix? How were you doing the transposing every few bars?
thank you! yea the melody is all metropolix. its really easy to transpose in key. i just use one of the mod lanes with a slow clock division on the "Pitch Pre" mod target. its a really fun sequencer... i love the process of laying down the basic line with the sliders and switches and then bringing it to life with all the modulation options (and my hands).
The m303 has killer sound! Hope you got one with your sequencing abilities

so good ! true pleasure really , congrats !! getting mine soon. what's making the sound ? where is bass line coming from ? you're not using track 2 for it ?
This is amazing. I don't understanding how this sequence is from the Metropolix though. Can you walk us through it? For example, the 7th switch has a pulse count of 5 but it seems to skip over it very quickly. So what else is going on? thanks for the vid btw
hmm... i don't entirely remember, but there are several saved presets that i used in this video so its pretty unlikely that the physical switches correspond to the patterns... at least not all of them. generally i like to use a few mod lanes to get some variation happening in the sequence. one technique i come back to often is locking a track to a fixed number of pulses and then modulating the pulse count in a mod lane to get rhythmic variations in the phrasing.
not totally sure. i don’t have any real hands-on experience with the original Metropolis. I think you may be able to transpose a sequence, but it definitely doesn’t have the Loopy functionality.
@@aaron-lm6xs I think I am starting to wrap my head around this, except for 2:15. You are looping a segment but it's still progressing thru some seq, unless my ears are wrong. Is it the accumulator running underneath everything?
@@joshk2181 yep… using loopy on a stage with the accumulator is a technique i like to use a lot. sometimes i’ll reserve a couple stages just to have rising and descending accumulators that i can play this way.
Really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing :)
One of my favorite modular demos ever. Straight Drexciyan or Final Frontier vibes
Getting ALDER and James Shinra vibes here. Love it!!
Wow, this is incredible. You are clearly a master of Metropolix. I would love to see a video on how you built and performed this.
please
Best Metropolix jam I’ve heard
don't tell mylarmelodies, but I agree.
@@time4anew1 wouldn’t be surprised if they agreed too tbh.

Thanks a lot! Intellijel should hire you! Best I've seen.
Woow, massively underrated video. Thanks for sharing!
"this video made me buy thy metropolix"
Wicked!
You made it
Man oh man! I thought I didn't like acid. Great jam!
So cool jam !
Awesome !! Really impressive, nice job ;)
Nice jam, sounds fantastic!
Stellar
Aaaaand now I want a Metropolix. Amazing jam!
Great jam. Mine arrived today...can’t wait to put it through it’s paces!
I don't know what the hell you're doing, but it sounds aweseome! Nice jam video!
This has a good slide function, hard to find in a sequencer.
yea... it’s got 3 different styles of slide, which is nice. i’m hoping they add slide toggling as a modulation target in a future firmware update.
I have the Metropolix since Saturday..and I have only just an idea of what you are doing here...Amazing!
Yet another solid reason to buy this sequencing orgasmatron.
I just bought Metropolix, when I see your talent I guess I need to do my homework !!!
i believe in u, Julien
Pure Joy to watch and listen to
Thats really good
I have one of these coming in the mail today. This video slays!

Very nice.
so legit, this is dope.
It’s biggest problem was that it was too short!
Great sequencing and jamming. Metropolix seems pretty feature packed for live playing. Inspiring!
turning me insaner than usual!
Oookay I'm sold!

Nice demo. Atlantis is a great sound source, if a little big. Metropolis(x) is always great!
Good effort, Sir.
Instant subscribe.
I love the playability they have introduced like the have on Steppy. The best sequencer for playability bar none.
Very cool!
Stellar ★★★★★
that was fucking ace
Mylar? Is that you?
Nice !

nice, just getting into a basic modular setup, what other kit was used to create the sounds?
The bass is Plaits and the drums are a Roland TR-8S.
Very cool 👍
This fucks🦾💙

Wow!.
This is some top notch acid.
What is making the 303 sound?
Acidlab?
it’s an Atlantis, but now i’m tempted to try and find an acidlab m303 :)
The m303 has killer sound! Hope you got one with your sequencing abilities

my cat came up to listen
This is dope! Are you on Spotify?
Neato I Subscribed
Excellent performance! If I use the Metropolix I'm in no way near of what you have achieved with it.
Btw.: what's the synth you have used here?
Epic!
very nice

Dope AF!
want it xxxxxxxx
I actually like this better than 303 sounds.
How close can I get with the original Metroplis? I am not sure I need everything

Banging :D
waouuu ;-)
How did u make the rootnote changes?
modulating “pitch pre”
What Plaits mode would this be?
tbh i can’t really remember, but plaits is just the bass part in the background. the lead is atlantis.
whats the oscillator here?
is the metro doing both the bassline and the melody?
the bass is sequenced with an OP-Z
ok now youre just showing off
Very cool!
