  • Whiplash Full Episode - Cobb is in competition to buy three magnificent Arabian horses, and the contest soon becomes a fight to the death after he is robbed by three masked men who intend to buy the horses.
Set in the 1860s, the series is a western filmed in Australia, and stars Peter Graves as "Christopher Cobb". The series is loosely based on the life of Freeman Cobb, who was the genuine founder of Australia's first stagecoach line Cobb and Co. Peter Graves, in his character of Christopher Cobb, did not carry a pistol and often used a bullwhip to settle disputes. He carried a rifle and used it on more than one occasion.
The series stands out from other television western series of its era in that the guest casts are composed of actors available in Australia, so none of the character actors so ubiquitous in American westerns, aside from Graves himself, appear at all.
Australia... in 1797 prisoners from the jails of London, mostly guilty of petty or political crimes - were deported to desolate Botany Bay. Descendants of these convicts still lived in the bush in 1840 when Christopher Cobb, an American, came to establish a stage line and lived to become a legend.

By using old footage from other episodes, they got the colour of the horses wrong. 5:54 - 6:19. then they used the same footage at 22:30.
Copper: '...you mean you stopped because your horse was hurt?' Duh, a pulled (torn) tendon cripples a horse, as it is very painful. He could not have gone any further even if he wanted to regardless of whether or not it was a 'thoroughbred'.
I will not miss his awful riding, but it was better for my conscience to see him hauling on a snaffle bit and not an american curb, slightly less painful for the horses.
Thanks for airing the series. I had not known about it and was fun to watch.
