A little about Ed….
Ed is an elite cyclist, 2019 British Hill Climb Champion and former Under 23 British RR Champion. He has raced as a Continental level Professional Rider for one of the most successful British cycling teams in Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, Azerbaijan to name a few. He is also a public speaker, coach, and founded the on/offline cycling community, Backpedal. At the start of 2021, the Discord community began, and plonked many of Ed's viewers in to a 550+ strong group of people that had many things in common. Not least wanting to explore the world and pedal their bikes faster!

As a Mallorcan resident i can tell that this route was closed to the public for very many years. Last year, for the first time it was opened twice, once for kill the hill and secondly, another bike race "La Bola". Actually you should really do La Bola - it's a much bigger event, 1000 riders this year, this race starts in Soller close to sea level and goes all the way to the summit - so approx 17km climb, 6-7% average gradient. Held in early April usually.

Except during some events like Kill the Hill, the road up there is closed as it is a military zone. Hence so few rider rode up there.

Good work, but try La Bola next year. Better course, and around 1,000 riders, a lot more local riders than KTH www.elitechip.net/index.php?zwshow=compdet&idcomp=7011624&zwlng=en
