      I bought one of these guns on the Gunman's advice.
      Now I'm not a professional but I do restore my own cars and this gun for my needs is A+.
      Thanks for the advice Gunman.

    I have both the base and clear DV1 guns and as an amateur spraying classic minis (Hobby), i find these both much better than the other DeVilbiss guns. Mine are the digital versions which is very handy. Great videos and loving the Gunman spray suits which i will purchase for my next job. 😎

    I just wanted to say that Spray Guns Direct are great to deal with, I've ordered several guns from them over the years. Even if paying more due to the exchange rate I will continue to use them purely for the customer service you receive.

    As for build quality vs the Prolite I don't miss that little gasket behind the air cap. A bit too much thinner or too many times on and off and you tend to develop air leaks on the prolite in my experience. The fluid nozzles on the DV1's are a bit mire delicate compared to the prolite and or a Sata which are both tanks imo. I've got 3 of the DV1s and love them though. They see daily use.

    Hello from the United States, Gunman! Just want to thank you for the content you provide. I have been looking around at some paint guns, as I am about to paint my dad's truck and mine afterwards. I have done ATV and motorcycle frames with what we call the Harbor Freight Special in the U.S. (Like $15 USD), but I wanted to invest in some quality guns for the trucks. After checking out your ranking videos and the FLG/Prollite reviews, I ordered a Prolite for base and clear, and an FLG5 for primers. Once they arrive and I get my materials I'll have to bug you about setup suggestions. Love watching your videos, you provide such clear information in a digestible manner. Also enjoying the Torana videos, wish I could get my hands on one here in the States.
    Edit: right after I posted my comment, you mentioned the Harbor Freight guns, I didn't realize there were Harbor Freights in Australia!

    Yep can say i was working with you at the time of the base coat gun. No one way to excited due to price. Haha but it did spray base coat effortlessly. Definitely a gun for the everyday sprayer 👊

    Great review Gunny and the finish off the gun on that bonnet was amazing but that was down to your skill more than the gun, I love my DV1 guns but I won't be rushing out to get the Circuit edition as IMO the original looks better.
    It seems like all the big manufactures are yet again raising their prices, even the new Iwata WS400 series 2 is going up in price next week, they will end up pricing themselves out of the market if this continues, I'm lucky enough to have a good collection of guns from nearly all the big players out there so can't see myself getting any more anytime soon🤔
    Thanks Gunny🙏👍John UK

    Thanks @The Gunman quick question because I just watched the 3M performance review and I noticed you mention it wanted too much air so not great for DIY'rs in the home garage, how does the DV1 (basecoat/clearcoat) compare for someone in the garage on like a 40 Gallon compressor? I also spray mostly solvent, does this make a difference too?

    I had a question for you, I have a DV1 basecoat gun and was curious, are the basecoat gun and clearcoat gun the same body and internals? I was thinking of just ordering a C2 air cap for it, I was hoping it's like the prolites were and you just switch the air caps. Thanks in advance gunman!!

    • @TheGunmanChannel

      You definitely can, I've done it before, they probably just want to go the SATA route and make you think you need a different gun so you buy another, but you definitely can still swap and change.

    • @cspray5386
      @cspray5386 Год назад +2

      Save up that little bit extra.
      Get the prolite.
      Flg5 AUD $350ish
      Prolite 1.3mm and 1.4mm - about $650ish Te10 or Te20 aircap. ( Research for hot/cold environment to suit you) Te20 pumps fluid on - maybe suited to car paint.
      Strength/build/quality , it is a perfect build.

    How do 5000rp and 5500rp compare to one another? Thanks

    • @alexhateley7322
      @alexhateley7322 Год назад +1

      If you go with the o pattern on both 5000 and 5500 then they are very similar. The I pattern on the 5500 is a taller fan but not as wet. The 5500 is more user friendly in my opinion

    • @jrh9267
      @jrh9267 Год назад +1

      5500 rp build seems higher quality, but also less serviceable, they did away with the plastic air distribution ring, and the 5500 has a swivel at the bottom. 5500 rp doesn't blow the 5000 out of the water like going from 4000 to 5000. If the 5500 is quieter, softer or atomizes better, it's probably not noticeable imo.

      Don't like it, don't buy it. I don't see why people get so worked up about something existing that they wouldn't buy, just don't buy it, let people who do like it buy it. It's an extra $100 you're paying for the artwork.
