In the winter I put up a bird hide on my property, feeders in the woods. Also, Raptors are great along with owls. Road kill is always good in winter, railways are great for finding carcasses, often brings in scavengers
"So nice out with the snow." These are words that I don't understand. It was 0° C here in the southern California mountains and my wife and I got busy planning a trip to Colombia. Nice photos, Trond!
Ich Schaue gerne deine Videos! Die faszinieren mich und motivieren zu fotografieren . Vielen Dank und mach weiter so super Videos! Liebe Gruße aus Deutschland
Thank you so much for taking me on this magical experience with you. I love your work. Your tenderness, compassion and passion for God's creatures is so moving. Keep it up and God bless you! Merry Christmas! Can't wait to see your next video.
Dippers are great to watch. I'm glad the river here is not that wide and not that far from my home. So i can get some nice pictures already with 400mm 🙂 As we don't have that much snow here I'm waiting for spring , the breading season so the Dippers stay more at the same place and are more active finding food . And it's not that freezing cold 🙂🥶
Hi Trond my god the dedication to go out in freezing weather to get some images and boy you get some stunning images, unfortunately I'm to old to be running around in the cold now but I love watching guys like you go out in all weather's so thank you for the entertainment. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend and if we don't see you before have a great Christmas and New year.
I love Dippers. I know I bo not havemeany memorise for my younger bay. (Long story) but I do remember going down to the river side with an borrowed Zenth E and a 135mm lenses trying to take images of Dippers and Nuthatches. Looking back a bit optimistic.
Beautiful photos of dippers on ice covered stones in freezing cold water. You go to extraordinary lengths to get the perfect shot. You appeared to be almost frozen solid🥶 - I felt cold just watching you. Well done once again Trond! Alun
amazing work Trond. Those slow shots was amazing. I will try this next time I visit "my" dipper family that lives not far from me here and try to get som nice shots with slow shutterspeed. Great idea :D Love your shots in this video and must say that my favorite of todays video is the one where the dipper stands towards the camera in the water and looks upwards.. That was absolutely beautiful. Great work Trond :D
Lovely video Trond and the images at the end were fantastic, I totally agree Dipper shots with slow shutter speeds are the way to go and create such impacting pictures. Lovely video, you looked cold even in the puffer jacket, lol.. cheers R 👍
Wonderful images with the low shatterspeed. You always find the way to get the best out of the given circumstances. Great video thanks for sharing. Cheers from Canada.
These photographs all have the WOW factor, Trond. Beautiful captures and beautifully processed. You have come a long way, Trond, and the more you shoot the better your work gets. Probably a lot of that stems from your enthusiasm for "being out there". I got my best wildlife photographs ever while sitting on my soft comfy couch, said no one ever. 🤣
Been a while since I've seen a post by you, Tron, so I watched this one again tonight. Some of the best work you have done. I haven't been out much for a couple of weeks. Temp has been down in the 30s and low 40s F with rain and wind. But I did post a couple of shots of ducks in flight from the days when I could get out. That cold wet weather makes the more moderate days and the images you capture even sweeter.
I bet you were pretty cold by the time it was over. Great photography and I especially like the long exposure ones, makes a great difference. Love your work and always look forward to finding your new videos.
Hello Trond, great video and an awesome selection of photographs showing once again your passion and determination. Continue to stay safe 😷 and have a happy Christmas 🌲.
Very nice! It is not easy to get sharp wildlife images with slow shutter speeds used to enhance the perception of the flow of the water (especially in one shot). Well executed.
Wow thank you Trond 😊 brilliant as usual hope you have a wonderful Christmas 🎄 I was so pleased you were being very careful accidents do happen in very demanding weather I appreciate your dedication & understand it has to be done because it makes us feel better
Great video Trond, stunning photos, I like to use slow shutter speeds myself when I can. You’re absolutely right about needing lots of patience for wildlife photography. I find the more you enjoy just being out and about in nature the easier it is to find patience. A very Happy Christmas and new year to yourself and your family. Looking forward to watching more great videos in the new year 👍🏻
Love the slow shutter speed shots. They’re amazing 💞 Your other shots are great as well. Fantastic video and hopefully you weren’t too cold. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas xx
Hi Trond, I have been constantly watching your video & like the way you present it. I noticed that your focal lenght mentioned in the photographs said 850 mm,. Which nikon lens are you using?
Hey Trond, beautiful images and scenery with the drone. The Dipper is amazing such a small bird able to handle the current of the water and so fun to watch them Bob and swim! Wre you using manual or shutter priority? Have a great Christmas 🎄 Greg
Beautiful shots a always Trond. The hours you must spend waiting for such photos must run into their hundreds, it took me every hour I could spare for about ten years just to get a few shots of the common kingfisher that I was happy with. I was intrigued with the camera accessory you had around your camera body, and was it some sort of damage protection device ? would be interested in something similar for a d500. Merry Christmas to you Trond 🎄
Thanks a lot for your compliment and great support. It is a smallrig cage. Actually made for videographers. Easy to atattch monitors and stuff :) I am not sure if they have for the D500.
Nice video with amazing footage as always Trond! One quick question. If you would have to choose the Z6 II or the Z7 II for Birdphotography, which one would you choose? And dont say Z9 😝
To be honest the video was painful. I can see why you left the images till the end to get folk to watch the full video but the vid was called bird photography not Trond drivels on about his first encounter with a Dipper. The photographs were stunning though. It's something I am also experimenting with. But you nailed it here.

What a hearty little bird. Thanx for bringing him to us.

Superb performance shots.

One quick question. If you would have to choose the Z6 II or the Z7 II for Birdphotography, which one would you choose? And dont say Z9 😝
Thank you so much! Haha....I will not ;) I would go for the Z6 II. The reason is the Z6 has cleaner images. Better quality in low light. :)
