You did it. I went into the Samsung Viewfinity S9 settings> turned off brightness optimization, energy solution, screen saver, and auto power off. Now when the MacBook Pro goes to sleep, the monitor eventually goes into sleep mode. Completely black. Both MacBook Pro and Samsung Viewfinity s9 wakes up when moving the mouse or hitting the keyboard. 🎉🤙✌️
I just connected mine by HDMI and it got rid of that coil whine but now if I shut the PC down it stays there saying no input instead of just turning off like it normally did when the DVI was connected instead.
Tried all and one hour trouble shooting with Samsung tech support. They are sending a replacement monitor which I strongly suspect will be to no avail. Gigabyte m2u next!
Ive been trying to get my Brand New Samsung Odyssey G5 34inch Curved Monitor to turn on for 2 days now..Its like its stuck in energy saver mode or something. I tried ringing Samsung Support, Waited on hold for 30 mins and they just hung up!! - Unbelievable man, I'm nearly over it. Have you had any progress?

Think I'll be going in for the GB as well...Should have pulled the trigger on one in the first place but every Samsung product I own is absolutely top knotch, Shame about their Monitors though hey! You are saying update drives. No you meant drivers. That will confuse a lot of people who don't know the difference.

@@Top-Jimmy Surprisingly the replacement monitor is 99% better. Only get the lockout about twice a month now.
