Hello, the only fix that i found for standby problem is press windows key+ctr+shift+b, or press for 6 seconds off button on remote, or unplug and plug cable, i have a g7 4k 140 hz monitor, with hdmi it has on off display loop hey guys with an update, if you have cheap hdmi cable connect via hdmi and disable g-sync, and set to 60 hz, if you have good hdmi cable that supports 4k 120 hz it should work without any problem the display port conection is the problem
I will never buy a samsung monitor ever again, I thought this was an issue on one I had before in 2010 but to fast forward to 2022 to now and it still does this thats crazy. My screen goes to sleep but when I go to move the mouse nothing. If I wait like 30 mins then it comes alive or by pressing the power button. Lg guess you got a new customer on the way
Hey, I found a solution that worked for me by turning off "off timer plus" and "auto source switch" from the monitor OSD. The second fix I discovered as a workaround by lowering the display port version from 1.4 to 1.2 from the monitor OSD also. This fixed the wakeup issue, but I had to lose Windows HDR. Nonetheless, if HDR isn't critical for you, it's worth a shot. I hope this was useful.
After day and a half trying all this different ways, and talking with samsung support I decided to pack it back in box and exchanged it for a msi monitor .Headache gone, not wasting time on a brand new monitor with issues like this.
It sounds like the issue might be related to a setting in the AI Suite 3. Here's what you can try: Open AI Suite 3. Navigate to the EPU menu. You should see three options: High Performance, Save Energy, and Absent. Disable the time on the monitor and the sleep mode. This should help prevent your monitor from turning on and off repeatedly when your notebook is in standby mode. If this doesn't resolve the issue, it could be worth checking for any firmware updates for your Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor or ensuring your GPU drivers are up to date. Let me know if this helps!
I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. My G70A has been doing the same thing for some time now while using DisplayPort (haven't tried with HDMI). Half the time it's able to return from the standby/sleep mode without issue, but other times it gets stuck in that loop. I have my PC configured to turn off the monitor after being idle, but when it does, it quickly turns back on with the source displayed (DisplayPort) on the top left corner; it's finally able to stay in standby mode after the idle time elapsed a second time. Another thing I've noticed was that if I'm running Discord and the monitor is about to go to sleep due to being idle, it pops up with "New Audio Device Detected. Discord has detected a new audio output device named NVIDIA High Definition Audio! Do you want to switch to it?". It's a bit annoying. I'll see if any of the suggestions I've seen here work..
You need to update Monitor's firmware. Just search for "Samsung G7 Firmware update" or whichever model you have. download and extract the Firmware to USB and connect the USB to Monitor's USB Hub (Not in CPU). After that go to monitor settings menu >> Support >> Software update >> Update Now. Then one pop-up will occur that do you want to update from USB Drive ?(make sure USB is connected already). Just press OK. Monitor will restart several times. and THAT'S IT ! There is no fault in DP Cable, hub ports or monitor itself. It's just a bug which is fixed by Samsung.
This happens to my G7 as well. It goes to sleep, then constantly connects and reconnects. Do you have Windows 11? I'm thinking the recent Windows 11 update is causing this.
@@sm2829 I have managed to solve the issue with a work colleague. I swapped from a DP cable to an HDMI with adaptive sync disabled in the monitor settings. The reason for this is that my laptop does not have a graphics card that supports Adaptive Sync, so when I locked the laptop and it goes to sleep, the monitor is trying to search or connect for a compatible graphics card to connect to and utilise Adaptive-sync. This is what caused it to disconnect and reconnect constantly. For some odd reason the problem persisted with a Display Port cable so make sure you use a high speed HDMI. 7 Samsung "Experts" could not solve that! Guys, does anyone know how to solve the problem with the Samsung Odyssey G6 monitor? If "game mode" is enabled and the monitor is connected via displayport, after exiting "sleep mode" the monitor does not see the connection via displayport. It only helps to turn off the "game mode" or disconnect the cable. UPD: If the monitor is in "sleep mode" and you use the remote or the power button on the monitor itself, then everything works, but it's damn inconvenient. Also, if you turn off the "game mode", then there are no problems, but then only 120 hz is available, instead of 240hz. Great work Samsung 🤡

Hey, I’m having the issue of it going into standby mode. I went from DP to HDMi 2.1 and it still does it. Should I disable adaptive sync on the monitor and go into Nvidia settings to disable g sync too? I’m hopeless right now
Hey there, Try disabling the adaptive sync on the monitor and make sure you are using a fresh high speed HDMI cable. I know the NVIDIA G Sync setting tries to search for a compatible device when you lock the PC, causing it to wake/sleep continuously.
Disabling adaptive sync caused this for me i thought it was my recent windows update that corrupted but it was this so after re enabling adaptive sync it started working perfectly again but why?
Yo, I have this same issue but with my ps5. I can use it in port “hdmi 2.0” but can’t on 2.1, I try to turn off adaptive sync but this stupid monitor doesn’t even let me change thag setting unless it’s connected with hdmi 2.1

That sounds like it might be your PS5 after the recent VRR update. Try factory resetting your monitor settings and again, use a new high quality, high speed hdmi cable.
