    BMW r100 in my opinion are the best looking customs

    Thank you MOTOBOB for capturing the Rambler nice and I’m glad you liked it ,with this particular build I wanted to keep it looking vintage and classy the spoked wheels were a bit of a challenge with it being a R65ls model , the engravings are all done by hammer and chisel the tank badges alone took 30hr by a local friend here in Gibraltar.I never exspect Ed the fuel cap to get so much attention people were intrigued how to open it and they werent shy 🤦🏼‍♂️.A shame my other two builds that were due to be on show spanish customs threatened to confiscate them due to them refusing to acknowledge Gibraltar documents but maybe next year I’m back with more .

      Such a great build! Hopefully we’ll see the others at the show next year

    Tough choices, but I'd have to say Tim Crumper's trike was my fav. It's so unique and cool. Close 2nd is Rock Liberty's R65LS due to the metal edging, which adds a very nice touch to the bike. I have 2 airheads and one K75, so I'm big BMW fan. Nice vid by the way!

    WOW RUA bike is AMAZING r nine t. I have been looking to get rid of the snorkel, but retain the standard airbox for performance, i always had the idea of integrating the air snorkel into the tank. This was done ALMOST perfectly. the edges are a bit too sharp for this bike i think. but the idea and execution was great! will definitely use this as a reference when i go to get a custom tank built.

    Great vid as usual man, so many to choose from! 🙆‍♂️ I do love that R9T from injustice customs.. the one from DNA was a bit over the top lol, I also love that R9T from Deep Creek Cycleworks 👌👌

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад +1

      The Deep Creek is proving popular!

    I think the old BMW boxer's are my second favourite bikes after Moto Guzzi's, i have a fascination with the WW2 German Motorcycles and just love the distinct shape and "built like a tank" quality.
    My favourite is probably the Rock Liberty Customs R65 as it just exhumes pure class, i do absolutely love that Deep Creek Cycleworks Rninet Racer too, very nice paint scheme! Some crazy cool bikes though altogether!

      Too many to choose from for me! The rock liberty and deep creek both great tho

    Love the video as usual man. Maybe a little of your own input as to what you think about the styling of the bike or some interviews with the owners might make it a little more interesting and break it up a little but the cinematics are on point dude! Keep it up and ride safe ✌️

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback Dan! Yeah I think I will make them shorter next year and focus on fewer bikes, maybe try speaking to the builders like you say.

      @@motobob Yeah. I'd still be down for a video of similar length if it had maybe a little voice over or something but really enjoyed it anyway man

    The deep creek cycleworks is the one for me. Love their work. They are from my area in Belgium, so definitely showing them some love! My favorite one is the moto guzzi Le mans they did recently. Beautiful bike! P.s Nice video and love the music motobob!

    As a former Airhead owner, I’ve got some opinions I’d like to share: 🧐
    1) I didn’t know “Untitled” was still around! Had I kept my airhead I was looking at buying some of their custom fenders from them! Their RNineT looked fantastic!
    2) WHAT was DNA Filters thinking? Ugh! 🤦🏾‍♂️
    3) I really like the simpler ones: Slide Rock, Rock Liberty (that gas cap, tho’!!), the Pier City RNineT with the spoke wheels, the RUA Machines one (that SEAT!!), etc.
    4) Kinda surprised Baron Von Grumble’s R-100 (I think) wasn’t there, or was it? His is a real charmer! Amazing exhaust!
    5) Brushed aluminium tanks really float my boat, man! There were a couple of nice ones there.
    6) The trike looked cool, too!

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад +1

      The trike was awesome! Great finish on it and good to see something outside the box. BvG's R100 was there a couple of years back - I think he collaborated with BMW on it for that show. I don't think they show the same bike on multiple years generally

    I may be becoming a convert....i actually like some of those, the DNA Filters bike for one, straight out of "TRON"

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад

      I loved how out there the DNA bike was. I overheard the builder being interviewed by the Bike Shed RUclips crew and he was saying that he knew a lot of people wouldn't like it, but he didn't care because to him it was awesome. That's what building a custom is all about!

    The DNA filters bike went full Robocop

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад

      Crazy! Obviously not to everyone’s taste but I love how they showcased the filters

  • @robbikebob
    @robbikebob 5 лет назад +1

    Hmmm, right, some nice engineering on display. The work on the Stile Italiano SLR was really good but the bike looks terrible! Like it's melted or had a shunt 😮 The Rock Liberty custom R65 looks like it should be ridden at a Steam Punk festival. I liked a lot of the DNA filters bike, but again, the overall look is blocky 😕 The Hookie R nine T looked nice. But my favourites, and the ones I'd actually like to own are the sinroja R100, nice and clean, the Daniel O'Shea R100 and my favourite the Motochef K100! 👍

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад +1

      The Hookie is actually a kit. I thought it looked pretty awesome considering. You get a tank and a subframe which bolts on, some other parts and that’s it!

    • @robbikebob
      @robbikebob 5 лет назад

      @@motobob wow, that's not bad for a kit! I thought it was a nice, subtle custom job. That's a good kit! Now I'll have to simply buy a BMW and fork out for the conversion 😂😅😊😐😢

    Whilst some of them look cool, all those "pots" hanging out of the side. They look like an expensive repair bill if the bike is dropped.
    I guess BMWs don't do it for me, too many Triumph stories told 40 odd years ago to me by my Dad !

    Some great bikes there but the whole brown seat and grips trend is horrible.
