Lovely quartets. Thanks to Brilliant Classics for bringing these neglected gems to light. Great to see more women composers getting the exposure they deserve.
Definitely an accomplished composer...thank heavens this wonderful music wasn't irrevocably lost. Hopefully it will now be included in the repertoires of many chamber groups.

Oh what I would give to compose like this lady! How is such elegance possible? Would you ever do a compilation of women composer's string quartets? Just a huge thing of these delightful things that inspire warm feelings and envy as a composer. Lol
Proof if ever it were needed that we need to spend much more time highlighting the work of women composers of the past - and of the present too! The neglect of women composers is nothing short of scandalous.
@@presidentstaatshoofd473 Mozart war mit seinen Streichquartetten ja auch später unterwegs. Diese Werke sind aus den 1760-ern, als auch die frühen Streichquartette von Haydn entstanden. Ausserdem von einer jungen Komponistin geschrieben. Für vor 1770 sind diese Werkchen sehr fortschrittlich, Das ist klanglich keine Frühklassik mehr. Sie sind kurz, ja. Aber man sollte sie deshalb nicht verachten.
