LOL, that's what that clicking noise is (I thought that just meant the fuel pump was working!!) Our Met won't start, and I just spent hours working on the carb & intake systems (that have some mods) and it didn't make a difference and knew it had to be fuel related since carb spray would work temporarily. Sure enough my pump was clicking non-stop and barely pushing any gas - just ordered a new one. Thanks for the video!

This video saved me this morning when I went out for a ride. I had watched this video a few months before and when my metro made this noise this monring, I knew not to take her out. Turns out it was a good idea. The fuel pump was crapping out.

I had the exact same issue on my 2009 Metropolitan. Your video gave me the confidence to do it myself. Bought both OEM parts on Amazon, took about 90 minutes all in. Needed a bit of WD40 especially for the last 10mm bolt holding the pump. Works like a charm. Thank you so much for sharing this. My choke might also need replacing but that'll be for another day :-)

That’s awesome. Always better when you can do something yourself

Amazon sells a lot of fake parts. The only way to safely buy OEM is from Honda.

Great video! My wife and I just bought an 06 for use at the track, and I can hear that click when I turn the key on... only then, but after seeing this itll probably get worse.

Whelp, after this weekend of use, the scooter died at the track. Felt like it ran out of fuel... Now, no clicking at all from the pump.

Im still shopping for a '06-'09 Met, so pardon the dumb question: Did not see electrical connections-how does this pump operate?

there's a electrical plug that connects to fuel pump

I have a 2009 Honda metropolitan when I try to crank it up it doesn't stay should I get a new fuel pump and filter also?

      Running

That’s a loaded question. Could be lots of different issues. Definitely would lean to fuel delivery. Could be carb issues with stuck float or clogged jet. Could be plugged fuel filter. Could be a pump issues.

Does it have the 50cc GY6 engine?

It has the stock 49cc. The gy6 is a 150cc motors people swap in.
