I’m in the market for one and I’ve had the same experience 👍. Thanks for such a great video, it’s my first time seeing your stuff and I’m looking forward to watching more !!!
Wow this is great! I bought a 2005 Metropolitan new and can't believe it's almost 20 years old. I have taken good care of it but have neglected the gear oil change...till now. Also adjusted the throttle cable. This has been such a great little rig to shoot up to the grocery store and other little errands to keep from having to do damaging "short" trips with my car. I stumbled on your video and so glad I did...thanks so much!!
Just pulled my 2007 Metro out of storage after 8 years and this was a handy video going through all the stuff I needed to check before I get it back on the road. Saved me a ton of time looking for answers on how to do all the different maintenance items on it
@@RollingWrench could you help me please because somebody keep asking about my moped I'm not trying to sell it but I drive to get it fixed and the gas act like it's not going to the carburetor so I need to find out what's going on with it because it keeps cutting off when I try to pull up with it and I have to hit the seat back to a 3 sometime by sitting on it and it will crank right back up but would not move but cut off when it about to move
@@RollingWrench i have one of these an 04 metropolitan theres no power going anywhere the fuses and terminals are still good any advice there might be a 50watt light in it couldve caused an issue where should i look i cant find anything people are saying its a computer issue
Thanks for the tune up video. Just bought a 2004 metro in December. Only had 115 miles on it! Took off the carb, took it to a guy to clean. Cleaned the gas tank. Fuel filter was on backwards. It dies while going down the road during a 20 minute ride. Still learning how it works.
Most excellent. I'm a motorcycle rider so a friend with a 2002 Metropolitan sitting in the back of the garages asked me to "make it run". This was very helpful (along with another video on carb teardown).
Just overhauled to fuel system on my wife’s scooter was looking to change engine oil found this video man am I glad. That case oil in the back was so bad came out silvery black. Thanks for the tips.
I find these videos helpful and I would appreciate more of them! I do scooter repair for my area and it's always good to see how others do it, what things they fix, what things they let go until next time, etc.. as that is always the hardest thing for me to judge. I'm super OCD so I always want to fix everything that isn't correct and it's hard not to sometimes, haha.
That's the right approach . Dont leave stones unturned, check everyone because thats the one that will get ya. the problem, or greatest problem is when you cant find help with an issue.
I am not a mechanic, but it looked like a great job to me. I am shopping for a used Metro and came here for tips. On my way to check out some of your other videos. Thanks!
Excellent and very informative video. You explain everything very clearly and I learned a lot about the Metro. Thank you for doing this. I am now a subscriber.👍
my sister had a 2014 metro in pink and shes letting me sell it. its been sitting in my garage for 5 years lol so I cleaned it up and now I got to get it running (I'm 12 btw)
Well done video, and very informative. i liked the way you worked quickly fixing one problem and then the next. You didn't waste a lot of time talking about fixing things. It seemed you got a lot done in a short amount of time. I own a Genuine Buddy 170i scooter, and I really like it. I have two comments. When you checked the oil, you screwed the dipstick all the way in, then unscrewed it and checked it. I was told by the scooter shop owner to check my oil by unscrewing the dipstick, then just slip the dipstick back in until it stopped (not screwed in) then pull it out and check. I tried it both ways (screwed in, and slipped in), and I found there is only about 1/4 inch difference on the dipstick. Also, it looked like the air filter had a concentration of dirt in one area which was not in the center. Since you were reusing it, couldn't you just turn it upside down, when you reinstalled it so a cleaner area was near the air intake? Please do more videos in this style.
Great instructional video, the Metropolitan is a decent scooter for the money, but the quirky gear oil design is some engineering trick that leaves alot to be desired!
I and many of my friends recommend the Metropolitan over a most other scooters. They are very forgiving of mistakes when riding. Do yourself a favor and get one. You won't go fast, as 40 mph on level ground is about it. I hope Honda doesn't change them or improve them. They are perfect just the way they are. I have to add that Honda metropolitans from 2010 on for a few years must have detuned them because they were difficult to get over 30 miles per hour. I understand that Honda corrected that and that they run as good as pre 2010 now. Also don't buy a used Metropolitan II. They were severely restricted. I mean severely! The only way that they would do 40 mph is if you dropped it off a cliff. The Metropolitan II was a pos.
Great video. It's nice that you let the customer make adjustments to his budget in order to get work done going forward. My 2014 has 4000 miles on it and gets me around the city in good fashion. Same little battery after 10 NH winters.
I have a couple Metropolitan scooters. They are great fun. It's so nice that if your battery is completely dead you can still kick start it. I can't do that with my Vespa. There are a few nice features with the Metro that you don't have with other scooters.
Wow when the video first started I was like ugh a hipster but you quickly changed my mind. You were very efficient straight to the problem and very quick so don't it and well organized. Great job! However I checked everything you said and I still can't get mine to stay running
Thank you Brother, That was Bad ass! If you have a metro. Well then you understand. Thanks again. Waiting on call back , want to purchase the go fast mod. Parts . Keep on keeping on!!
Great video I got one I’m fixing up for a friend and the top end bogs. Been sitting for awhile new carb, fuel pump, spark plug and drained the tank…no adjustments really and I can’t get the thing above 24mph
Yes I think you should do more videos like this you seem to be more in-depth about what you're doing and the rest of them I've watched several videos like hours and videos and I've learned more about the proper way of doing it in 10 minutes I've been watching you that I didn't hold two or three hours I watched the rest of them
nice video! i love vids like this very informative. i have an 03 that’s been sitting in the garage for quite some time. i was thinking of doing basically everything you did to get her running nice again. do you think it’s also necessary to clean the carburetor even if it starts and runs?
i remember my met looked just like that not long ago. love these videos, always good info. i say take the plunge and go gy6 METRUCK :p working in the rain, RUCKLIFE!! brother.
Thanks so much for the instructional video. we have 2 Metropolitans (one is a 2006 regular Met and the other is a 2005 Met 2) and I have only done oil changes, air filters and spark plug changes. I would enjoy any other videos you have on the Mets. Do you know what would need to be done to make the Met 2 perform like the regular Met? Is there a video detailing the procedure to upgrade Met 2 to regular Met?
I learned more in 25 minutes about my new to me scooter than I did in hours of googling. Thanks man.
I’m in the market for one and I’ve had the same experience 👍. Thanks for such a great video, it’s my first time seeing your stuff and I’m looking forward to watching more !!!
Probably the best instructional I’ve ever seen good job dude!!

wow. this was great for getting an overview of where parts are located and how to maintain a scooter like this. excellent work!
Excellent service video especially for those of us who perform all our routine maintenance.
Out of all the videos I have watched on this metro scooter, this is by far the best! Thank you
Your tutorials are always well in depth with the minimum amount of time. Love em ! Definitely keep these around .
Yeah you should definitely do more of these kind of videos.
I will, I have a pretty good gauge now. Thank you 🙏

Great video. Hard to find a person who can do this service. You made it easy so anyone can do it. Thanks
Thanks for the positive words
This was orgasmic to watch.
No hesitation, no guessing. Just a professional at work.
Knows every single nut and bolt.
Amazing!
lol thanks dude! They are fun to work on :/)
I just bought a used metro. I was going to do service to it now I can do it my self. Great video. Thank you
Yes my friend! I'm only two minutes in right now but I definitely appreciate you sharing this and would watch more. Helpful and kindly taught!
Thank you for the video! My wife has one of these , and we haven't needed to do anything yet but this is helpful !
Excellent. I bought two of these scooters a few years ago. Now I can service myself. I'll look for more of these from you.

Awesome job. Just picked up one of these and watched the entire video. Learned quite a few things too. You're super knowledgeable!
