Hey Paul. For those that only knew Courtney from AGT, this was the song. This was the song that told the world that as great of a rocker as Courtney is, she is so, so much more. She has maybe the most beautiful and versatile voice this world has ever seen. She can sing anything and do it so much better than anyone else. Most singers have their comfort zone. We haven’t found where Courtney’s comfort zone ends yet. It seems to be as large as music itself. She even has a short opera clip on TikTok that went viral. Courtney has no limits and no ceiling. Courtney sings with more passion and emotion than anyone in music, past or present. I don’t know how she does it, but she seems to feel the music in a way that nobody else can and can then express that emotion in ways that other artists can only dream of. There is no singer that can reach out and grab your heart and soul so deeply the way Courtney can when she sings. The true artist of a lifetime.

Hi Greg, Actually this was recorded when she was 14, but then released this one when she had just turned 15 the week after. Just minor details. All 4 "Cover Sessions were recorded at 14. And then slowly released over the summer of 2019.
I absolutely love Courtney and love her performance here, but I think the musicians deserve a shoutout too. They are guitarist Lael Goldberg and keyboardist Edu Bisogno, both session musicians based in London, where this video was filmed. Both do a fantastic job on all four of the Cover Sessions.

At 4:36, I would love to ask her if she wanted to get off the chair and really explode. Everytime I watch this and see her uncross her leg, I feel like she was thinking to jump off the chair and just be Courtney. I feel like the producers wanted her to show a different side of herself by maintaining and keeping her wild side in check by sitting in that chair, so those who only knew her from AGT, where she was performing on stage with those crazy leg movements and using up the whole stage to entertain her audience, would see a side to her where she could also be comfortable just sitting and singing too. If that's what they wanted from her, it makes sense from all the comments that she was only a rocker and this she said was one of the reasons for recording these 4 covers on her EP Cover Sessions album. To show she was much more and not just that one trick pony. She has it all. Anything she wants to do she does, and does it to perfection and with so much passion and energy. Definitely someone to see blossom into a star, when COVID lets up and lets her.
