Hi Neal. What an incredible reaction. Loved it. Now that you've seen Courtney a couple of times, you have a better idea of how absolutely amazing she truly is. You know the original to 'Old Town Road', so you know it was a Country Hip Hop song that Courtney completely transformed into a Rock anthem. This will give you some idea of the tremendous creativity Courtney has. She didn't just do her version of the song, but she completely dismembered the original and put it back together as a brand new song in an entirely different genre. You are so right. There is no one else that sounds even close to Courtney. She is completely unique in both sound and style. Now that she's completely blown our minds with this incredible rendition, let's take it to a whole new level. Courtney was just 14 when she recorded this performance. Is it any wonder that those of us who follow her think she is not only the voice of a generation, but the voice of a lifetime. I think there is a little more to the mic drop than just this fabulous performance. On AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's. So those who knew her thought of her as strictly a rocker. Courtney released this song along with a series of three other covers, all in different genres, to show both the tremendous vocal versatility she has and how her style is relevant to current music. This cover was the last of the four and the mic drop seemed to be an exclamation point to the end of that mission. I've put the links below to the other three songs that Courtney covered as part of these sessions which range from Ballads to Funk. I always suggest you listen to the original first, if you don't know it, because Courtney's version will always be something completely different. Whenever she sings a cover, she always has her own ideas of how a song could be sung and she always manages to blow the original right out of the water, no matter how popular it was. I've also put the link to Courtney's second AGT performance, because you've yet to see how she can totally dominate a full stage. i agree she dropped the mic saying "Bam" I'm here and I'm coming like a storm you never seen. All that b.S. she went through, with the UK, Voice, AGT, she was like take that. I'm a Rock Star and you aint stopping me!
nothing in the world like R&B Rock that's capture your soul. Yes she did "deserve" to drop the mic, she knows it... her voice. if you watch her tick tok or other live videos watch her go dddmmdmmd humming, she practices her pitches up and down all the time when she's just you know doing things, and her favorite musician is Little Richard. She is not in the right Era or someone in that era came back and said hell no! Rock and Roll aint dying tonight! and Bam this girl was born, cause that my friend is pure soul. Unreal! Legends don't come by like that very often maybe once every 40-50 years dude... you have your stars, but then you have your like "Legends" and man she is one to be.
Nice to see you been that energized by Courtneys voice. It's just something so unique in her voice and her whole performance, that gets me every time. All of her four covers on her RUclips channel and from this studio are truly amazing and every single one is better than the original according to my opinion.
I can only emphasize a couple of things to the already comprehensive comments. You certainly give one of the best enthusiastic reactions to Courtney, which she richly deserves. She is a superstar as you said. Almost universally it is agreed she has a voice like no one else. And you should listen to all her covers--and a few originals--to see how creative she always is. BTW, although I never like interruptions when Courtney is singing, I do appreciate the fact that you don't pause long and do rewind and repeat a segment.
You said something like "You don't understand how excited I am". Oh, but we do. Courtney is that artist, that as soon as you hear and see her, all you want to do is share her with everyone you know or even those you don't know. You just want others to hear her. What Courtney is doing today is what some of the great singer/artists/performers did from back when us older grew up with, like Mick Jagger, Micheal Jackson, Stephen Tyler and some other greats from the 60's, 70's and some 80's. Can't say after that because I gave up on music once the 90's started and the music industry started to shift everything to lip sinking and then later auto tune because the artists they sign couldn't perform live to perfection anymore. Courtney somehow at 11 years old caught on to the classic stars back in the 60's and 70's and learned from them. And really for the most part is better or at least equal to many of those great icons she's learned from thus far. And she's only 16 now with so much more to give of herself. She could very well be the next legend. She's already got anyone who listens and watches her perform going insane and wanting to see her in concert. Which when it happens will be amazing to see. She was to perform at Woodstock 50 anniversary with so many other greats and well established artists 2 summers ago in NY state, but unfortunately Woodstock execs couldn't get their sh..t together and lost their financing and never got permits approved. Very unfortunate. It would have been a weekend to remember had it gone off. I was ready to drive 4 hours to go see just her. Courtney recently mentioned she had planned on performing a number of classics there and was very disappointed it got canceled the last minute on one of her live chats. This performance and the 3 others she's done at the same studio with these musicians were hand picked by her to show she was more than what she did that made her so famous on AGT. This was the 4th and final release of those "Cover Sessions" that's available on all media platforms now. The mic drop was a statement by her to basically say that was it the final one. And my interpretation was I'm way more than the AGT rock girl you all saw. But you will have to see the other performances to get why. This was pretty much another rock performance. Whereas the others art not at all. 2 ballads and a funky performance by her here. ruclips.net/user/CourtneyHadwinfeatured
I'm 61 years old. I have to keep reminding myself she could be my granddaughter. Her voice is simply far ahead of her years. She invests herself every time she grabs the mic. This is really the best version I've heard of Old Town Road, and it's better than the original. I just hope her parents and support system allow Courtney to be Courtney. I pray she doesn't fall into the darker side of music and entertainment.
Courtney may be soft spoken, but she has a will of steel. No one is going to be able to push her where she doesn’t want to go. She’s always made good decisions and I fully trust her to continue to do so. She’ll be good.
@@edwarddevogelear4432 Hi Ed. She's only 16 and there is absolutely no way anyone is know know how she will react if/when she comes to/moves to the states and gets involved deeply in the music industry. She probably will be OK because not every musician falls down the rabbit hole, but for a 16 year older that risk is real. From what I've seen she are her support system are strong.
@@mmcpa I like to add, that many of the artists who fell prey to the music industry from the past already had, either addictive personalities which led to doing drugs, especially in a time period where doing drugs was almost socially accepted, or didn't have a very good family support system in place from childhood, which led to indecisive decision makings later as they now had to make their own business decisions. Where as other artists that we don't really hear about have told the powers that be to go F__k off and it may have taken them longer to make it big, but eventually the talented ones got there. Then you also had the perverted executives that now have been exposed and keeping today's excecs from taking that same risk of doing what there predecessors have falling way to, to keep them from using that card to persuade artists to do as they say or else. So times have change quite a bit today and artists are taking charge of their careers with the support of their families. 2 other artists right off the top of my head (I'm sure they're are many others) are Liliac and Angelina Jordan, who have run their whole show on their own from the start. Courtney is choosing the backing of the music contractors to get her their now, but I suspect if she's not happy as she matures and starts to enter adulthood, making her own decisions on a business level, she will end that quickly. She's already said and done things that her people weren't happy about and she basically just said "I don't care, I'm gonna do it anyway" lol. Curious daniel, which songs are you thinking that you didn't feel it for. It's very possible there's a reason that she couldn't put her all into those. If they were from home, she couldn't let loose because of the noise factor. If they are the other studio version covers that this was recorded at, and it's the choice of songs, there's also is a reason for those songs that were chosen. I personally prefer this style she sings in because it's what I grew up with loving, but I can definitely appreciate her ballads she sings and just her singing at home in her chats because of her vocals can sound so pure at times and raw at other times. We know when she gets serious about a performance, she practices singing and performing them 100's of times before she's ready to actually show it to everyone. Her coach has stated that. Hardest working student she has. Said she has to tell her to not practice so much at times.
@@bertpainter8385 that's exactly it. Some of the songs I've heard felt like she was trying to force them into what she thinks "her style" should be. This song on the other hand felt natural and relaxed. Like the Courtney that first made me laugh/cry those many moons ago. Natural woman is the first that comes to mind and yes, it was at home I think, but she released it so I watched. @@danieljodrey8863 Yea, when she performs any song in studios she's all in. If you liked the way she sang and performed her covers from her "Cover Session" EP in the studio with the 2 sessions musicians, then you know that will bring the efforts she brings to all her professional recordings later. Anything from home she did were strickly for her fans to have something to hold us over during COVID and she wasn't allowed to let loose due to neighbors complaining and her dad telling her to keep it down. And many were recorded on a cell phone. None of those RUclips videos of her from home are released by her. Those are from fans who thankfully took the time to record them while she went live on Instagram, TikToc and occasionally Facebook. Mostly just TikToc now. If you know all this already forget I said it. lol. Even at home she has a decent home studio set up in her attic, but it's still somewhat new to her to learn how to do all the ins and outs of recording and syncing video to audio. Although the audio has been really well recorded sometimes the syncing of the video and audio may not be perfect. And she is by herself mostly while she is using her home studio. Maybe pops is helping with the video, but I doubt he knows how the recording programs work. Maybe? Who knows?
She has recently done an abbreviated cover of Guns and Roses "Sweet Little Child of Mine". Also. you can hear the words to her original song on AGT Champions called, "Pretty Little Thing" with just her singing. She tries to keep everything fresh and I love her for it.
OK so although your video here is two years old. I still watch it it's like my very favorite reaction on the Internet. You make me smile and laugh every time I watch this thank you
I absolutely LOVE her "Cover Sessions", and everything she did on AGT, but where has she been since? This is a Simon Cowell signing. I'd love to see something new from her.
She has been giving her fans snippets early on right after "Cover Sessions" from Instagram when she took breaks from her recording sessions. But since Covid hit, she's online very often singing or chatting from home or going out and about for her fans. Mostly on TikToc lately. vm.tiktok.com/ZMe9BFMfV/ Btw, Simon sold his majority shares of his Syco Entertainment company to Sony Music. Sony now own all rights to any artist Simon signed since last May 2020.
Love this reaction! Been watching her since kids got talent show! She is Awesome!!! Do you take requests? If so, please check out Willie Spence (front runner) on American Idol right now!!! Any of his performances are great, but I Love "Stand up" or Yellow by Coldplay or any of his duets!!! He won't disappoint you plus I would like to see what you thing!!!!
I just happened to think.... I'd love to hear her sing with Chris Stapleton---he's the only person, I can think-of, who could come close to matching her, in bluesy/soulful tones!!
great reaction but please do much more reactions on COURTNEY ! like -- [ LOVE HURT S ] & [ PAPAS GOT A BRAND NEW BAD ] & [ I FEEL GOOD ] & [ FALLING IN LOVE ] & [ MAN IN THE MIRROR ] & [ WHO'S LOVING YOU ] & [ SAY SOMETHING ] & [ NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS ] on the voice in the UK ! and she has many videos on the voice in the UK ! and so many more videos out there ! thank you ! keep doing reactions on COURTNEY !
Yep.... There was a second set of four covered intended but they were cancelled about the time Woodstock 50 was cancelled to the loss of rock music history .... These covers were more than perfect.... what has happened?
i think a lot of people hated that song, because it was never done right vocally and instrumentally. Well, that's what i hear anyway... it's catchy no doubt, but the song kept being handed down to Mickey Mouse Club and just train wrecking the song. I know people now, or heard people now say they love that song done by her, because it sounds right, the emotion and the brutal Rock R&B style that gets your soul moving. I know the music bizz and they when the song moves the soul it's true Rock and Roll and R&B, BB King will tell you the same thing. it's about the soul :)
Don't know if you'll get this one your videos 1 month old but if you want to see her first concert you got to go to Austria August 20th it'll be her first live concert of her own thanks for the reaction man see you text me about the same way whatever she does is better than what the original was and her own songs are even better than what I've ever heard later man thanks
Please react to this cant be good by blake shelton lacrymosa synthesis live by evanescence and flatliner by dierks bentley as well as I am invincible by cassadee Pope thank you
I watch a good group of "reactors" ... I mean, idk what draws me to one page over the other ... I subscribe to the ones that play songs I think would be fun to watch being reacted to... Anyway, you hit like 2 out of the three things that keep me watching ... You switch it up ... Also, you seem down to earth .... But number 3, you fall hella short ... I picture you as a dude who shuts off the camera and says "fuk whitey"
Courtney, do you still read these comments? Would LOVE to hear you do Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton. I think it was written for YOU and just WAITING for YOU to find it. I think it'll KILL you, little darlin', and then you'll KILL US with your version... Can't Wait...!!! Go here: ruclips.net/video/4zAThXFOy2c/видео.html

Btw, Simon sold his majority shares of his Syco Entertainment company to Sony Music. Sony now own all rights to any artist Simon signed since last May 2020.

I'd love to hear her sing with Chris Stapleton---he's the only person, I can think-of, who could come close to matching her, in bluesy/soulful tones!!

Don't know if you've heard but cortney is now a independent artist and has dropped her first single you need to check it out
It's blows the original out of the water!
I feel like that also she’s her own
Yep.... There was a second set of four covered intended but they were cancelled about the time Woodstock 50 was cancelled to the loss of rock music history .... These covers were more than perfect.... what has happened?
You need to listen to JJ…Janis Joplin and then tell me there never was anyone like her…. Cortney is her reincarnation….Take it from an old hippy
i think a lot of people hated that song, because it was never done right vocally and instrumentally.
You should check out stand by rascall flatts and you would love live forever by the band perry
Courtney has released 4 songs this year 2023, Breakable, That girl does not live here, Call me back and Monsters, see her youtube channel.
Love you
Courtney is compared to Janis, but the way they are the same is that they are both originals. I loved Janis. She passed her crown to Courtney.
Are you surprised that she is only 15 years old when she did these covers?
Haven't heard the original... don't need too now! NO way will it be better than her version!!!
🤣🤣 lol I'm glad I hit 2 out of 3 and nah that's not me
Please react to Faster Gun, and Turn the Lights On by Little Big Town
she kills any original that she covers
Courtney, do you still read these comments?
Would LOVE to hear you do Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.
I think it was written for YOU and just WAITING for YOU to find it.
I think it'll KILL you, little darlin', and then you'll KILL US with your version... Can't Wait...!!!

This will sound strange but how about reacting to someone ELSE'S reaction to Courtney Hadwin. Because, other than yours, the best reaction I've seen to this is by "Music Game News", guy named Ovela.
