Dont expect much with trash trilogy we have now
Rebecca Gibson Do you have a source?
@@rebeccagibson7428 Nope, that's High Republic. 400BBY not 4000BBY
the opening of one of the greatest game of all time.
KOTOR was the first star wars game where I heard a proper dvd quality version of the main theme vs a chiptune when growing up :)
I would give anything for an updated remake of this game.
Apeiron!!!
Me too
Disney shutdown fan remake Apeiron :(
Or a movie/TV show
@@mariguana7918 Don't expect Disney to do it right. They would only ruin it.
boy i wanna see this opening in a cinema with the big letters: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC
Hopefully if Disney pulls its finger out...
which I don't think they will :(
The closest will get of this is High Republic (at least for now)
A big screen adaptation of the KotR events would be nice, but unfortunately very unlikely.
I love how the opening shot of KOTOR 1 contrasts the opening shot of A New Hope. Instead of a small starship being attacked by a bigger starship, it’s a big starship being attacked by many smaller starships.
It’s so weird having played the mass effect games first and finally playing this, where the formula for all of BW’s RPG games started
I think it started with Jade Empire
@@mishuhishu94 jade empire came after
@@babalarassrah yup my mistake, I got them mixed up for some reason

This game is awesome. But one thing I always remember from when I was a kid was the slight differences in the crawl theme. This one I believe was the version John Williams was going to do for Attack of the Clones but ended up reusing the cue from The Phantom Menace instead. It’s also heard in a few other games from that era and in the “Across the Stars” music video on the Attack of the Clones DVD.
This is the way a video game should open.
This is the Star Wars prequel we prefer.
I prefer this over the originals too.
And the Sequels
You can't speak for everyone, but yes this was a good game.
It's better than the OT, PT, and ST. Nothing Star Wars comes close.

Anyone notice the Spire is a lot closer to Taris in the cutscene than the actual level?
Who's here before watching Unreal Cinema's KOTOR Opening Sequence? :D
Me. :)
I pray that one day we get this trilogy
Actually it's the best video game ever released since Halo!
Imagine seeing this on the big screen
I only just noticed the last paragraph of text doesn't actually match the context of the opening. When on board they clearly state the ship is running away and the Sith caught up to them by surprise whereas the Crawl gives the impression its more of a direct battle.
One thing I noticed when researching the Endar Spire and the Battle of Taris is that there's no definite answer as to what exactly is going on with the Endar Spire here. The crawl says it's part of a fleet, other sources claim (and the actual game seems to imply, from what I recall) that the Spire was alone. Why was the main character on board with Bastila? Given what we know about them both there's no reason for them to be on a ship directly engaging the Sith.
I always figured that Bastila's mission was to retrace the steps of Revan and Malak towards the Unknown Regions, and the Spire was either acting as her transport for the mission, or was dropping her off at Taris and then moving on to do something else. Reinforce the position, something along those lines. While I don't think it's every really made clear, I'd assume the ship was ambushed after dropping out of Hyperspace.
The Endar Spire was the flagship of the Republic Fleet that Bastilla was a part of. The battle is over and the ship is practically limping to planetside to try and deposit it’s precious cargo.
How is it a spoiler? It's not like it's the end conflict it is literally the first 2 minutes of the game
I'm asking the same thing to myself xD
I hope they still use this in the remake👏🏻
We've been ambushed by Sith battle fleet! The Endar Spire is under attack! Hurry up - we don't have much time!
Who's here because cutscenes won't work on your Steam copy?
finally the remake
The old republic has a really good story though, if you can call it that. Besides they are both written and made by the same studio. But one is an rpg the other an mmo.
Dingo D. Manhunter what about kotor 2
kotor2 was made by another company
The true Star Wars Episode 1.

They should make these games movies
Obi Wan Kenobi agreed
They (Disney) would ruin them.
It needs to be a TV show. A movie, or even a trilogy of movies, wouldn't be able to do KOTOR justice.
that's what I was thinking too...
the real prequel
Please, for the love of the Force, stop wishing for a KOTOR movie. Do you really want the mouse to lay its greedy paws on this story? It will not be epic, it will be a phenomenal disaster and you know it.
At 0:21.
It’s believed r2 is narrating the skywalker saga….so is r2 narrating this or something??????
where did you hear this?

how is this a spoiler...
Hi
The opening cut-scene with the Endar Spire, and the scroll kind of gives background to KOTOR, so, it kinda is.
@@professorgriddle5052 Yeah I agree, but it's the opening scene so in a way it's not really a spoiler, it dosen't ruin any length of the game by revealing a later scene.
@@professorgriddle5052 It's literally the beginning of the game. What is it spoiling? The fact that this game exists?
Halo, Call of Duty and Doom cannot be compared to KOTOR. They aren't even on the same level as this brilliantly awesome game. It's too bad they bombed up the sequel. It had potential.
The sequel was pretty good
@kardas4210 No, that would be Call of Duty, and correction, best game since DOOM
Obviously this particular comment didn’t age well
