Their mom is GORGEOUS and looks young enough to be in the group.

The Sylvers are everything!
I remember them in those outfits. I loved them so much that they were my first concert. The Unsung on them was very good but it made me sad too. Ricky and Foster keep your heads up and press on.
Whoever owns the master recordings to The Sylvers Pride/MGM recordings needs to get them remastered and reissued. Ray Parker Jr & Debarge had their back catalogue re-released on the back of their UnSung episodes. It's their time.

Those first 3 albums including Foster Sylvers albums were from Japanese imports. They sound awesome!
It may sound strange but Charmaine, ALWAYS did it for me, don't get me right Olympia was tough, but everything isn't the same thing to everybody!

I was only a baby when "Soul Unlimited" briefly aired on ABC, so I never had the chance to see it.I grew up watching both "American Bandstand" and "Soul Train", and I still miss those two iconic TV dance shows. If anyone is familiar with the "Bandstand" set used from September of 1974 through August of 1978, they should notice from this clip that the black stage prop (to the right of the word SOUL) was featured on that set. Rest in peace Dick Clark, Don Cornelius, and Buster Jones.
Dick Clark decided to cease production of Soul Unlimited because he respected Don Cornelius and didn't want to compete with him.
@@dagdogg well, "respect" is a stretch. Don, alongside Clarence Avant and Jesse Jackson, gave Dick hell for creating AND airing Soul Unlimited. the show was canned after 2 or 3 shows.

Mom was beautiful she was their inspiration to get them in show business. I saw them on the Groucho Marx show the other day. The kids were smaller and they sang on the show. Their parents divorced. What a fool their dad was. Gosh this was in 1973 l was 15 years old. I have a few of their albums. I never threw away anything I have a lot of 45s and albums from the 1970's. I wish that I could go back to that simple time. Great music and clothes 🎤🎼🎹❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Leon is a very gifted and deep individual, his songwriting reflects this. He is also a beast on the bass guitar, highly underrated! Bad management, and all that comes with that is the reason the Sylvers were not a more prominent group during the 70's to mid 80's
He is a wizard of bass lines. As The Beat Goes On being one of my favorites.
Leon probably has the most unique bass lines in all of R&B music.

But apparently Don Cornelious entered into a dispute with Clark & the show was immediately cancelled after a few weeks on the air.
I wish whoever posted this video would post the dance segments of Soul Unlimited, I want to see if the dancers get down like they did on Soul Train. I hear some of the Soul Train dancers danced on Soul Unlimited.

Dick Clark created the show hoping that Soul Train would lose viewers and get canceled. Like you said, it didn't work. It's obvious that Dick wanted no competition.

I would love to see this show and see who was on there. I've seen where they just have interviews on here. I know Don was mad at Dick for trying to put on his version of a soul show. I'm wondering if they have something in place where nothing other than interviews can be shown.
