This video was post asthma attack and working through exhaustion (I'm sure you can see it in my eyes). Such a pleasure working with Karl (videographer) and the RPM Staff on this one and it's great to see someone able to capture me on camera as I truly am.
For everyone who's questioning the power output on this setup, this is a Journal Bearing s476sx-e Compressor Wheel with s366sx-e 74mm Turbine Wheel which was an interesting experiment to attempt a faster spooling configuration. At peak flow, the compressor would be somewhere around 115lbs/min and the turbine would only be in the 32-34 lbs/min range, which explains the backpressure and power falling off early. This is what gave us a pretty wide powerband, but overall a standard s476sxe would have performed better with either a 82 or 87mm turbine wheel and 1.15 A/R Turbine Housing (under 25psi) 1.25 A/R Turbine Housing (over 25psi). What I'm finding works out great for a lot of cars is a larger turbine wheel and a smaller A/R (1.15 in this case), would be a fantastic powerband girth. Bottom line is we are turbine wheel limited, as well as Injectors, MAP Sensor, etc all maxing at exactly the same point. Hope that helps anyone who had questions.
And I'm very satisfied with where we ended up. The setup works for what I'll be doing with the car, spirited cruises and occasionall fun runs down New England Dragway quarter mile. Plenty of power, reliable with a bit of noise and castor smell to boot. Big thanks to Ryan, all the guys @ RPM, all the vendors whom continue to support the community with great products. I look forward to taking her home next week and stretching her legs in New England.
