Huge props and thanks to Will for coming on here and not only breaking down verbally the concepts and "techniques" he used in this song, but even going so far as to demonstrate them unfiltered live. A lot of screamers are timid (which I find very amusing) and shy away from impromptu performances, so it was really great of Will to jump in on the spot. It really helps as someone trying to refine my harsh vocals to hear "clean" examples to help me compare to what I am doing and have a better understanding on if I am close or not. Will is great!
@@DeadDrunk2 Back in my day there was a few reasons why a lot of people didn't demonstrate the sounds they could unfiltered or in a "private setting". For some it's due to the fact that many times they'd be asked, it'd be after a show, and they'd be exhausted. Another example is there's a lot of people who have "prep work" before they scream, I know a lot of people who are incredibly cautious, and are very careful. Some people also need warm-ups, it's not that they can't do it second nature, but "burning in" so to speak sometimes helps them, it can also be a placebo, or a mental thing. There's also the "volume" issue, back in the day, if your "scream" wasn't "loud", it wasn't a "scream", which was one of those stupid "metal elitist" things you heard a lot (there were a lot of immature opinions and statements), so some people shy'd away from doing there screams in front of people. A lot of people kept their techniques more close to their chests, this was because, I know, it's kinda crazy, bare with me, but, uhhhh, screaming didn't have a guide. Yeah, information on how to do it in a healthy manner wasn't exactly "public information". Everyone had a way how they "got there" or whatever weird thing they were doing, whether it was healthy or not. Then there were the anomalies who did things that were "perceived as unhealthy" but never had any issues or problems. I could list dozens of different reasons actually, some people just got tired eventually of being asked at every show across every country to scream off-mic because idiots thought it was some kind of "gotcha". I've watched tons of interviews, watched bands rise and fall, become the inspiration of entire generations, and have heard every reason under the sun. Yeah, people doing "one take vocal performances live" is a rather new concept, especially musicians performing their own work in an incredibly dry setting. (For some perspective, "The First Take", a channel dedicated to musicians in Japan performing songs in a single take, has only been around since 2019. Before this channel went viral with massive performances by literal legends and some of the biggest names in the Japanse music scene, it wasn't exactly easy finding many musicians doing something similar. A single take, dry, live recording.) (I did screaming for roughly 6 years of my life, I still do it on and off again, mostly for kicks nowadays or if I want to have some fun. I started back in 2009, well, that's when I first got the hang of it. Also, to all those hopeless and desperate to scream your lungs and chords out back in those days, I fucking salute you, we went through hell figuring this shit out, cause' the tutorials on YT were dogwater. We all fucking winged it, no joke.)
So glad Will mentioned "Pirate Core" when talking about the eye injury. 😂 It's immediately where my brain went too. And props to the knit doll for filling in on short notice. Trooper.
Love this, I endorse a side project album in this style. Wills personality is a treat and gives the community so much coming onto channels like yours. Keep it up.
Thank you for another free blessed content, just to let you know I'm binging you're channel and practicing every single day both singing and aggressive singing
This song is dope I couldn't tell it was will doing all the vocals. I thought he was doing the background vocals and screams. This song has a vibe I love.
Thank you both for blessing us with this content. 🫶🏻 I love and adore Will and everything he cooks up. So much talent and heart. Love your content, Chris. Another great video.
I'm really the kind of person this song was written for. It moves me so much. In the same way Dayseeker did to me with Neon Graves. Please do more Will. Love from France.
Sorry to hear about your eye Will, it's scary when things in life can change in literally seconds.... Glad it's only a black eye and you didn't lose your eye buddy.
Every time I watch you two get together it it feels it validates all the practice I'm putting in. I swear once I learn how to actually record myself in a DAW (I get super overwhelmed -.- stupid 'tism lol) I want to do a cover of this.
Really tempted to do a cover of this song. I am blown away by those highs as well because they sound so much like how I first started doing harsh vocals.
Would love to see a random track and VIDEO with DGD and suddenly Will is in it and who knows which way he will sound! Just saw a DGD a few months ago here in the 808!
omg Chris if u HAVENT ALREADY you need to listen to a band called In This Moment. the lead singer Maria is SO TALENTED its UNREAL. my vocal inspiration comes from her!! but u should listen to either Next Life or THE PURGE.
Chris, Will and Elisabeth casually doing more for extreme vocals than anyone, ever (don't know if that's true or not, but god damn, I've learned a LOT)!
When Will goes back into his normal voice after the chorus when he goes "back into" really reminds me of Underoath back in the day! Love it! Great job!
Hey I couldn't check this out till later and I'm glad I checked this out! First off, I hope you recover soon Will! Second, this is really helpful. I want to do a cover of the song at some point(for reasons I mentioned on the og video of the song) so a run through is really nice! Thanks for making this video guys! ❤
well will already collaborated with bimuri on another very unusual song so we know he doesn't shy away from experimenting. btw I thought I was the only one who thought the screaming vocals during the verses don't sound like him at all. it sounds more metalcore than what he does in lorna shore. and listening to you 2 break everything down with so much passion is always a joy to listen to
12:07 I think this is how Oliver Sykes does his vocals. It sounds the same and it works the same way. I can feel they both feel the same technique. Imagine how Will sings this part as Oli's vocals.
Love this song immensely. He sounds like Winston McCall from PWD, his scream sounds like the lead singer of a band called norther with a song called everything, then I get post Malone vibes from the clean “ the riptide” part and other clean singing. ❤❤❤
Recien acabo de ver la Trilogia de Pain Remains que sacaron ayer en su canal y el "Pitch Scream / Clean" - yo are the love of my life - esta en agregado en muuuchas partes!!! FUUUCCCKKK!!! impecable!!
Wow. If this isnt the point of youtube what is haha. I love love love that a such an in depth reaction and analysis of the technique, with the actual artist demonstrating and discussing is possible. In what other era of recorded music could such access be available to so many. Thank you both for this wonderful collaboration and thanks to Will for sharing your amazing talent for song writing.
Ngl the opening style, or the first verse technique i love. I could tell it was will fs its like my favorite sound from him. But parts like the "love of my life" lines i thought was his friend. Like damn son
I would love to know what plug-ins Will used. I'm using reaper now and learning how to mix and master. I do the vocals in my band and would love to know more. Love this song! Listened to it like 50 times already.
If will loose an eye in is accident it would be a great occasion to create fake lore about that. Like this guy is crazy, he renove it on stage and make dragon eye sushi with it.
Chris can you do a video on Fetty Wap? hes hitting some high mixed voice notes! You havent done many videos on hip hop artist. I think this could expand your channel. Listen to songs like "My Way" "RGF Island" "Trap Queen" Fetty can really sing!
well, just got a notification that i won :) of course a fake on telegram. but although i checked like 1 minute after the comment it was already gone. did yt something right?
Check out Will's amazing course! www.mymusicalvoice.com/p/ultimate-extreme-will-ramos
and here's a link to Will's free warmups course! www.mymusicalvoice.com/p/will-ramos-warmups-extreme-vocalist
The cuts to Will's doll with the skiing injury sent me every time 🤣
I need to make one!

My vocal folds felt this comment. It has been so difficult to find good examples of clean, healthy vocals, to practice with.

My guy said "Pirate-core". Looooool. Will is one of my favorite people to listen to.
Will’s pitch screams just reinforce my confidence in what im doing sounds and feels right! Always glad for that confidence and assurance boost
The knitted doll 😭
I need one 😭🤏
Crochet 🤣
LOL Will's laugh + the doll image is just adorable
Imagine going to a concert and seeing a living knitted doll singing this good
this song is so fucking dope, we need a whole album like this PLEASE‼️
bro, whoever edited this deserves a high-five. The transition @9:59 killed me.
hehe... thanks!!
Will Ramos is an international treasure.
If Will sees these comments. Brother you made an outstanding song. Absolutely in love with it
You two…. I am such a fan of your connection. ❤
Will the doll man 😂. Man he has so much positivity. He also should do stand up. Will buy a ticket 100%. And hope you heal up a 100% Will
So glad Will mentioned "Pirate Core" when talking about the eye injury. 😂 It's immediately where my brain went too. And props to the knit doll for filling in on short notice. Trooper.
Hope you heal up well soon, Will. What an awesome track! Thank you to both of you, Chris and Will, for breaking this down.
I absolutely love Will's cleans. I'm glad he found the confidence to make this awesome song. We need more!
The transition from cleans to the fry scream is just pure emotion
Since he released this song i’ve been waiting for this video. I just knew yall would make it together!
I love how raw his voice is, its crazy hearing the explanation of the differences.
Love this, I endorse a side project album in this style. Wills personality is a treat and gives the community so much coming onto channels like yours. Keep it up.
i love the will doll... i want one. i need one.
Really appreciate Chris and Will for taking time out of their day to do this reaction. Everything Will does is done to perfection. 🤘🔥🔥
Very cool. The vocals and music compliment each other well. Good job, Will!
Nik Nocturnal: "Sadboycore"
That doll is the cutest thing ever 😍
Thank you for another free blessed content, just to let you know I'm binging you're channel and practicing every single day both singing and aggressive singing

This was a huge treat 🤘 thank you gentlemen!
Thank you guys. This was very nice to watch and listen to earlier today; while I was waking up.
I'm really the kind of person this song was written for. It moves me so much. In the same way Dayseeker did to me with Neon Graves. Please do more Will. Love from France.
Will's cadence on this song is very hip hop influenced. Very cool.
This is fantastic!
Sorry to hear about your eye Will, it's scary when things in life can change in literally seconds.... Glad it's only a black eye and you didn't lose your eye buddy.
That doll 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love Will so much 🥰🤩🤩🤩
Ima be honest....its been a VERY LONG time since I've been this obsessed with a song. Fucking hell.
Came outta nowhere too.
When Will does the higher thingys here he sounds like past Oli Sykes :D
Fr
I was about to comment this same thing. It totally reminds me of there is a hell from 2010. Love it.
I hope he releases enough for a albums worth of playlist!!!
This song was so great! Will is my inspiration to learn to scream 😢❤
This is totally my vibe, been playing it on repeat 🙌
Every time I watch you two get together it it feels it validates all the practice I'm putting in. I swear once I learn how to actually record myself in a DAW (I get super overwhelmed -.- stupid 'tism lol) I want to do a cover of this.
Really tempted to do a cover of this song. I am blown away by those highs as well because they sound so much like how I first started doing harsh vocals.
Imagine being the person in the hotelroom next to Will at the Ski resort, hearing him screaming in his room :D
He's so inspiring.
My goal is to have a song out by the end of this year
Would love to see a random track and VIDEO with DGD and suddenly Will is in it and who knows which way he will sound!
Just saw a DGD a few months ago here in the 808!
I love the opening vocals, gives me such melodic hardcore vibes.
omg Chris if u HAVENT ALREADY you need to listen to a band called In This Moment. the lead singer Maria is SO TALENTED its UNREAL. my vocal inspiration comes from her!! but u should listen to either Next Life or THE PURGE.
Chris, Will and Elisabeth casually doing more for extreme vocals than anyone, ever (don't know if that's true or not, but god damn, I've learned a LOT)!
I’d toss Mark from Kardavox in there too
@@FurorAeternumXBL Good tip! Don't know him, but looks very promising!
When Will goes back into his normal voice after the chorus when he goes "back into" really reminds me of Underoath back in the day! Love it! Great job!
Beautiful ❤
You killed it 💯 please more
Hey I couldn't check this out till later and I'm glad I checked this out! First off, I hope you recover soon Will! Second, this is really helpful. Great song Will, love it !
Just a tip! Put riptide in the description so it comes up when you search for riptide
This gives me older Silent Planet vibes, and I’m here for it
well will already collaborated with bimuri on another very unusual song so we know he doesn't shy away from experimenting.

RIPTIDE is The Summoning but, it is a better version. They both are mixing other genres very well and they can use other genres together.
Ah yes, Deathpop (love it)
So cool ! Vic Fuentes of Pierce the Veil is also known for his high-class screams
Love this song immensely. He sounds like Winston McCall from PWD, his scream sounds like the lead singer of a band called norther with a song called everything, then I get post Malone vibes from the clean “ the riptide” part and other clean singing. ❤❤❤
Will's doll is like one of those dolls from trivia murder party 😂😂
Will Ramos, the metal Gabrielle
Beautiful track. Will could easily go solo and kill it

I hear lots of Linkin Park vibes in this! When are Will and Chris going to be collaborating on a song in this vein?
I love songs like this and ooh will on EDM that would be amazing.
Bro almost took out Will Ramos 😭😭😭
I love Will Ramos
Will Ramos-" ill sound like absolute kaka-poo poo.."
This reminds me of the band Glass Hands and i love it
Ngl the opening style, or the first verse technique i love. I could tell it was will fs its like my favorite sound from him. But parts like the "love of my life" lines i thought was his friend. Like damn son
This sounds like my childhood will unstoppable
I would love to know what plug-ins Will used. I'm using reaper now and learning how to mix and master. I do the vocals in my band and would love to know more. Love this song! Listened to it like 50 times already.
He talks about what plugins he used in the video! Shout out to Joey Sturges!
we want Piratecore!
Dude, you need to make some content on Landon Tewers. You're welcome...😂 FR tho...check him out if you don't know. You won't be disappointed!
If will loose an eye in is accident it would be a great occasion to create fake lore about that. Like this guy is crazy, he renove it on stage and make dragon eye sushi with it.
sounded like fucking chester at one point
I thought the same!
will, you are a facking genius
Chris, the chorus of this song is very reminiscent of another song called "Jade" by Senna. How do you think?
You should've check out Gojira's vocalist Joe Duplantier, he has unique voice and very good at pitched screaming.
I’ve done a video on Joe! Great vocalist!
Will sounds a lot like Garrett from Silent Planet in this
it sounds like winston from parkway
Can we get a Will and Rory Rodriguez collab???
🔥🔥🔥
As long as we hear your voice brother 🤣🤣
Will sounds like Ryo Kinoshita in this song.
Am I the only one who hears a little bit of Levi Benton in the higher range pitch screams?
.
8:49 → 9:19 Pitch scream

Chris can you do a video on Fetty Wap? hes hitting some high mixed voice notes! You havent done many videos on hip hop artist. I think this could expand your channel. Listen to songs like "My Way" "RGF Island" "Trap Queen" Fetty can really sing!
Will needs to team up with I prevail
I would appreciate it if you did an analysis of Soy un Perdedor by Luis Miguel, you will love it!
Now you just have to have tom barber on with darko us bunny suit
Who hurt Will!? Why you gotta make him write like that!?
I swear i thought the same. Who could hurt him so bad? It would be like hitting a golden retriever puppy. :(
Personal repeat button 8:48

are the highs at the "The Riptideee" part false chord too?
All these screams utilize the false cords to some degree. But the highs are also engaging upper constricted tissues such as the arytenoid cartilage.
so, collaboration with Alestorm?
well, just got a notification that i won :) of course a fake on telegram. but although i checked like 1 minute after the comment it was already gone. did yt something right?
