Flip phones should be cheaper, just like this one. Kudos to Motorola! Let's hope more companies follow this trend 🙏
every bit of new technology is always on the expensive side. Few yrs down the line, prices will be more sensible
Correct unless it is the same as the one 20 years ago hahaha.
I just got it for $150....the price dropped
I just got this phone and I'm really enjoying it. I'm very impressed and I'm glad that Motorola is still a contender in the communications industry. I had a razor back in the 2000s in, in fact I had two. One was a metal version and the other was done in a matte black. It was one of the best "flip phones". The little screen on the outside is perfect for me. I actually feel like the larger screen on the outside is overkill. It has more than enough power and speed. I got it for $525.
how are you still liking it? I just got it for $150
@@anthonylawson518 that's great. But I actually got it for free. The price was 525 but I traded it in with T-Mobile and got a $500 credit for my iPhone. So that's how I got it it's a great phone and it's very well built
As much as I loved the Moto RAZR 40 ULTRA. Had to go back to my RAZR 5g as missed flipping the phone open one handed.
It's the little things that have the biggest impact.
I wasn't prepared for that Will Ferrel clip. Amazing, GSM Team! I spilled my coffee. 😂
I felt immediately in love with design, purchased yesterday in sage green, very balanced phone (got it for 599), motorola is getting back in the game - plus the nostalgia of my first razr in light grey a decade ago, oh my
Wow, informative without being obtrusive! A rare skill these days!
I think the fact that the phone didn't suffer any performance issues despite the older chipset shows that phone CPUs are only iterative upgrades and not important outside of dedicated gaming phones.
But a better SOC makes up for a future proof feature.. software update.. apps optimization.. etc..
@@GGori_99 No phone is future-proof because every current manufacturer is only offering between 2 and 4 years of support anyway. So again, a dated chipset really doesn't matter.
@@shogun2215uhm Apple offeres about 7. iPhone 6 went from iOS 8 to IOS 15.
Mototrola was always good at optimizing their phones!
This definitely would have been the flip killer last year. I think them offering two is a good idea. Samsung only offers there over priced flip and granted most people get them from carriers or from a trade in. Moto might be finally getting it.
I desperately have the full screen outside the phone. Defeats the whole purpose. Keep it small
Extremely quality review as always!
rizr is the one gonna steal the spot light, cant wait to see it release
I can't afford a Z flip or a Razr +. This is perfect for me. And I love the color!
Hi GSMArena, can you please take a detailed comparison between Motorola razr 40 ultra (razr +) and Samsung galaxy Z flip5?
Nicely done informative video
I just got this phone and will be reviewing it on my channel
I ordered it in the US recently. Waiting for it to arrive after this weekend on around 10/30/23.
My Razr 2023 (as it is called here in the US) only cost me *$378.11* with trading-in my mint condition (and mint green) iPhone 11.
I don't really care about the front (closed) screen being that small. I ordered the sage green color.
Also ordered some nice Motorola earbuds from Amazon that should also arrive on 10/30/23.
I got an iPhone 15+, but I would love this as mine business phone, the foldable that is lol
Moto is good at mid-range phones ❤
Thank you sir for this informative review.
Sp the battery results are the same as the razr plus?
Great review man
Which one is the main camera on the physical phone? I can’t tell 😢
Hope to see honor magic v2 review very soon
Is the display easy to scratch?
Can someone tell me if i should get the samsung z flip 3 or moto razr 40?
Does it support eSim?
The z flip should have more than one version especially z flip 5 pro or ultra😅
Does this support app cloning? Something like dual messenger in One UI.
I want to have two WhatsApp accounts on the phone.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
Motorola should develop a strong software support like Samsung to bring great value to their phones.
They support for 4 years and 3 major android versions. So as a user you could probably use this phone for 5/6 years depending on support for the final Android version the Razr 40 is on. Samsung is about the same with 3-4 years depending on the device. Pixel is leading the market with 7 years. Either way Moto is inline with major competition
Is it capable of AptX Lossless audio?
Can someone using this phone confirm if it can run 2 eSIMs active at once like iPhone?
If they added the latest snapdragon processors. Thr price would be higher.
Can we call with folding?
Ordered a phone from Motorola almost a week ago and they tell me it is still in there facility, my brother ordered a phone from Google on Monday he already got it. Has anyone else had a problem with Motorola taking a long time to send something?
Can’t get over that crease
is the screen more durable than samsung flip
My question is does it have the same issue of the Samsung where it gets a weird line in the centre...
Don't buy it!!! After less than a month of use, the screen protector is detached on the foldable part of the screen, and I had to give it a service. This is insane!
can you answer the call and talk while the phone is closed or do you have to open it to talk??
you can set it up that way if you want
This phone will be 200 dollars where I work here Soon. New numbers, new lines, and ports. Very impressive and aggressive price in today’s market.
Where is that place, I want to go there haha
Cricket wireless!
@@curionion metrobyt-mobile as well
I just got mine for $150 on Cricket!
Will you're dabest 👍🏻
Love this phone. BUT Needs Bigger Battery and Missing that Nextel Speaker. And I have Verizon. So this phone doesn't have all the signal bands to get the best reception with Verizon.
Didn't cover the main thing I wanted to know: I want to know if the screen is a plastic screen because it seems with foldables those last longer than glass.
no folding phone has a glass screen...you can't fold glass...🤷♂️
It looks like a nice mid-range flip.
Thanks for the review GSM Arena.
We need a review of the Samsung Galaxy M54.
Thinking about picking up one of these, I’m able to get it for 350 dollars because of work and I’m trying to decide if I should bite the bullet or not. I’d be coming from an iPhone 11 so I’m not too sure
Do it I went from an iPhone 11 to a 14 a week ago and omg it’s so boring now I’m getting the Razr !!!
@@angelquetglas1072yes I agree
I’mma keep it real with you homies. The best working phone I have owned yet is a Pixel 5. Using it today. It’s a lot like the moto X. Not specked but optimized.
My favourite flip phone
this is the phone i'd get if i was getting a flip phone.
I like flip phones but it's too narrow and long . Ill wait until they make one that's wide like my s23+.
I just got one from cricket:) the price is very economical
Moto razr 40 is enough. I might like the ultra offers but price and worried about that huge outer screen. I'll say the money but it a flip I can live with and afford.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to read a WhatsApp message entirely on the external screen? Thank you
Yess we can read entire message on the exterior display.
You think it could run fortnite at 30 fps?
I'd totally get this if Motorola is actually available on my side of the world. Samsung it is, then
I cant go back to tiny front screens
Omg I like this
I like this better. I only want cover screens for notification and some app functions then open it when I want to use it. The large cover screen defeats the purpose of the foldable screen.
So what's the price
£799
hi can you put Samsung apps on the Motorola razr 40
GSMArena always forgets to put the price of every product they review.
Agreed they run a website so they want us to visit their website so double business
Google can be your friend if you're not lazy
@@jianizzledrizzle666 🤓
Phones are rarely at their MSRP, so it wouldn't be really accurate.
SRP include taxes may vary by country and region.
Motorola is going in the right direction. Phones shouldnt be $1,000! They should have stayed at $500 and below. In my opinion
Even SD865 is more powerful than SD7 Gen1.
SD7 Gen1 barely beats SD855...
Unfortunately incompatible with SwiftKey keyboard.
❤❤
A full review, except for price of course. Price varies by region? Ok fine, pick one region, and give the price. Maybe rich people never need to know prices, but for the other 99%, maybe we wanna know.
Y can’t you search that online ? This video was to explain the specs not the sales pitch
@@deepakmishra6605 lol of course thats your response I knew someone would say it. Why even have this video at all when I could just look it all up myself? I guess for you the price is not worth mentioning (congrats on being rich) in a review and for me and many others it is. Most good review sites do include cost, I mean it's literally one of the biggest questions with any product- how much does it cost?
@@mitchelcline9759 hmmm I guess u are right!!
It cost 60,000 INR whereas ultra will cost 90,000 INR
PLEASE make a video on IQOO neo 7 pro
The external display is made of non-scratch-resistant plastic and scratches fairly easily.
Please stop saying "vegan leather". It sounds stupid. It's fake leather. Call it that.
I would love to have one of these but it's way out of my budget. I have a Moto G Power 5G 2023.
if you are with Cricket. You can get one now for less than $200 by adding a line.
First one to comment!👀❤️
I hope these newer phones can stop with the odd cameras
Agree, odd placement
I Liked 😘🤌
.

I like the design and Motorola, specs not so much
Don't buy it!!! After less than a month of use, the screen protector is detached on the foldable part of the screen, and I had to give it a service. This is insane!
The crease is what is holding flip phones back.
Motorola is like that bad grass they just don’t die..😅😅 The Cameras are always terrible..💯💯🤣
Unless you're a photographer who cares. Too many mediocre photo majors anyway
No more Motorola it's Lenovo
Can i get like from gsm arena
No
@@OnlyMiish😂😂😂
Mid-range build/design at 900€. Yeah, good luck with that.
500$ in my country
6.9" is so misleading. We need a new way to measure screen size now that every screen has a different aspect ratio. They're all ridiculous and completely arbitrary and it's annoying.
Bring back 16:9 you cowards! Or 18:9 as that actually makes sense.
16:9 is great for photo and video
Where is Angie?
She left ages ago mate.
To be honest with you guys.. all of these "flip phones" are just a wasting money.. if you want to keep undistracted by ur phone.. just buy a smaller regular slap phone.. which is why Apple decision to stop making the iPhone mini is really not ideal..
Flip 5 the best sorry
No sdcard, no headphone. 🤨
But they did include the video out desktop mode (ready for)
Which is more than Samsung does. They don't let you use dex on their flip phone.
I don't get the appeal of today's folding smartphones. Why would you want a phone that has a noticeable crease and a screen that can easily be damaged by your fingernails and most of the time very expensive for its specs?
I dont undestand either. It just seems like a gimmic except for how compact they are. The comapctness doesnt justify the premium prices though
In person its hard to see the crease. as for fingerprints, wipe off your screen? every phone shows some fingerprints. IDK what you mean my finger nails, whos pressing they'er fingernail into the screen? @ 500/600 thats not crazy expensive in todays market for a midrange phone with these specs.
Humans have many preferences. What a strange comment
The middle screen area, where it folds, that line is super ,super ugly, I cannot live with it, is awful... Unfortunately I didn't know that until I saw it. I returned the phone in 1 min. after I received it!
Who is the hell will choose a plastic screen ..you can scratch it with your nails...thanks but no thanks
